I am at a complete loss for words.  At what point in time did President Bush completely lose his mind?

Bush Sides With Mexican Killers Against U.S.

The State Department’s top legal adviser told international lawyers on June 6 that President Bush is so committed to the primacy of international law that he has taken his home state of Texas to court on behalf of a group of Mexican killers. The Mexicans had been sentenced to death for murdering U.S. citizens, including young children.

I can’t even begin to comment on this.  Read it all for yourself.

My guess is that the justification in this lies in our desire to protect United States citizens
abroad who are also accused of capital crimes. Simply put, according to treaties that the United
States signed, if a foreign national is arrested, then the counsel for that country should be
contacted so that the accused can be represented. The states in question did not do this.

Bush is more than likely asking enforcement of these treaties so that other countries are more likely
to provide the same protection to our citizens accused of crimes in other countries, where their
criminal justice systems have even fewer protections for accused people as ours do.

Bush has been bought and paid for by the Mexican government. If an American national is convicted of a crime in another country, yes, they should be allowed to contact the Embassy, but they should also pay for their crime, under the laws of that land.

There is so much to all this that makes no sense to me at all. Admittedly, I am as dumb as a box of rocks! :/

What’s going on here is what goes on when any law enforcement agency disobeys it’s own rules…
It is forced to nullify the conviction. If you didnt’ do that, then what reason would any
law enforcement agency have to follow the rules, if it could always get away with breaking them?

I’d like to know why they have to make it all so confusing! LOL Obey reasonable laws, no problem. Simple!

And in these cases I don’t even think the convictions themselves were nullied… only the death
penalty. So now they have to serve life in prison instead.

Which means we’ll be supporting them for the rest of their natural lives.
