Impressed?

Well, ya damn well oughta be!Â
I got both those things up all by myself. Mr. Spot was no help at all! He just basically sat at my feet, when I wasn’t stepping on him.
The hardest part was getting those painted in plastic screw hole plugs out. Today’s adventure, naturally, didn’t take as long as yesterday, since of course, I knew what I was doing. …………………………………………….. ROFLMAO Yeah, well, ok, not exactly, but I did fairly well considering I’m a crotchety and decrepit ol’ woman.Â
You KNOW I Had To Have One!
Of course, while I was in the neighborhood, I also had to pick up one of these, in honor of Mr. Spot’s upcoming…umm…snipping:
Yes, I know…just what I need….more tshirts! But hey, look at it this way…. I AM getting rid of a bunch that I don’t wear, so I have to replace them with something!
Jackson Arrested
Jesse Jackson Arrested at Gun Protest
The Rev. Jesse Jackson was arrested Saturday at a demonstration outside a south Chicago suburban gun shop and charged with one count of criminal trespass to property.
Jackson was arrested when he refused to move away from the entrance to Chuck’s Gun Shop in Riverdale, police said. He has protested with other community activists outside the shop in recent weeks after a 16-year-old honor student was gunned down on a city bus.
Police said the shooting was gang-related but the teen was not the intended target.
Thugs shooting at, most probably, another thug, end up shooting a kid who was not the target of the shooting. When are people going to stop blaming anyone and everyone else for their actions?
Jackson, who says the gun shop’s proximity to Chicago provides gang members and criminals easy access to firearms, has used the protests to call for stricter gun laws.
Stricter gun laws are NOT going to stop the thugs from getting their hands on guns. They’re thugs! They don’t give a happy crap about laws!
If this shop owner is selling guns to people who have no legal right to own guns, then by all means, shut him down. If, on the other hand, he is within the law, then leave him the hell alone.
The Rev. Michael Pfleger, a Catholic priest who oversees a South Side congregation, also was arrested and charged with Jackson.
A message seeking comment from the gun shop was not immediately returned Saturday afternoon.
Two teens have been charged as adults with taking part in the May shooting of Blair Holt, an honor student at Julian High School.
I hope like hell they bury the SOBs!

Waupun looks into launching multi-age, environmental ‘Green School’
Students involved in the multi-age, environmental “Green School” would receive instruction integrating all core subject areas using the Rock River and its watershed as an anchor for learning.
Good grief! Isn’t that what all those science classes are for? Looks like just one more way for WEAC and the whackos to indoctrinate.
FEMA waits for list of Katrina-damaged roads
Federal officials are still waiting for a list of streets damaged by Hurricane Katrina that qualify for federal assistance.
New Orleans has until July 31 to send the list to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Frustration among federal officials has risen since Mayor Ray Nagin, in his May 30 State of the City address, criticized FEMA. He said the city’s post-Katrina streets are in poor shape and “crumbled under the weight of tons of floodwaters. Shockingly, FEMA has de-obligated or rejected our request for these critical repairs.”
Well, if the Chocolate City mayor would do a little co-operation of his own, perhaps things could get done. Although, I’m not surprised by his actions, I am surprised that people still expect the federal gubmint to solve all their problems. Why doesn’t Nagin get his hinder in gear, and get some folks out to start doing the work themselves? I don’t see Mississippi having these kinds of problems, and they got hit a LOT worse by the hurricane.
Wonder if grandpa is old enough buy beer
Tennessee is set to become the first state in the nation to require carding of anyone, without exception, who buys beer for off-premises consumption.
The Tennessee Responsible Vendor Act, designed to curb underage drinking, takes effect July 1. It will expire after one year to give lawmakers and vendors a chance to review its effectiveness. The legislation does not apply to the sale of wine and liquor purchases or to beer sales at restaurants and bars.
Ummm….how is carding an 80 year old man, on a walker, going to curb underage drinking? If he looks 17, ok, card him, but for the love of pete, knock off the feel good legislation that accomplishes nothing, and wastes paper!
Schools Pinched In Hiring
Teacher Shortage Looms As Law Raises Bar and Boomer Women Retire
As hundreds of thousands of baby boomers retire and the No Child Left Behind law raises standards for new teachers, school systems across the country are facing a growing scarcity of qualified recruits.
I’m all for raising the bar on teacher recruits! Heaven knows there are a lot of teachers now who are qualified to teach a 2 year old. There are also a LOT of excellent teachers who are leaving because they aren’t allowed to actually teach! Raise the bar, give merit raises, and get rid of the useless trash that are indoctrinating our kids with their personal agendas.
Hussein Cousin Is Sentenced to Hang for Mass Killings
Two decades after Iraq’s military laid waste to Kurdish villages, the Iraqi High Tribunal on Sunday sentenced Ali Hassan al-Majid, known as ”Chemical Ali,” and two others to death for their roles in the bloody campaign against the restive ethnic minority.
Can’t say as I’m sorry that this animal will swing.
Shots, arrests delay music festival
The Country USA Music Festival — with its estimated 45,000 fans — was delayed for nearly two hours this evening after multiple gunshots were fired from an adjoining property, festival officials said.
Country USA owner and promoter Dan Liebhauser was backstage between acts about 5 p.m. when he and others heard a series of gunshots, he said.
Sounds like somebody doesn’t like country music.
Hamas planning terror attack, Shin Bet chief says
Hamas plans to attempt a suicide attack inside Israel, Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin warned at the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday.
Diskin said that despite the relative calm in the Gaza Strip, Hamas would make its move in an attempt to weaken Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah.
Now, there’s a shocker. Terrorists being…..well, murderous terrorists!
Sarkozy claims victory over Britain as EU strikes deal
The new French President said he had managed to dilute the EU’s commitment to free-market economic policies in a European “mini-treaty”, claiming at a pre-dawn press conference that he had struck a blow against the “dogma” of competition. This was presented by his allies as a defeat for Tony Blair and his incoming successor, Gordon Brown.
Wonder what this guy has against a free-market economy? Healthy competition is a good thing.
Immigration bill ignites grass-roots fire
When Kim Wade pulled up in front of the Jackson, Miss., offices of Republican Sen. Trent Lott, a crowd was already waiting. They were students, professionals and homemakers, all members of the immigration-restriction advocacy group NumbersUSA. And they were all there to blast Lott for his support of the Senate immigration bill.
No, from my understanding, it’s NOT an ‘immigration restriction advocacy group’! Try to get this through your tiny little minds! It is an ANTI ILLEGAL advocacy group. Again I asked, WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL CAN’T YOU CLOWNS UNDERSTAND!?!
Obama
When I read this article yesterday, I was at a loss. It seems to me the Sen. Obama is completely clueless.
Obama Says Some Have `hijacked’ Faith
Sen. Barack Obama told a church convention Saturday that some right- wing evangelical leaders have exploited and politicized religious beliefs in an effort to sow division.
“Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart. It got hijacked,” the Democratic presidential candidate said in remarks prepared for delivery before the national meeting of the United Church of Christ.
“Part of it’s because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, who’ve been all too eager to exploit what divides us,” the Illinois senator said.
Is it possible that this guy really isn’t aware that people who are active Christians actually vote their faith? It isn’t our faith that is dividing us, it’s the lack of faith on the ‘other side’ that is dividing us. Those issues like abortion, gay marriage, the constant intrusion on our faith, and stiffling our ability to worship when and where we want, the constant attacks from the friends at the ACLU…..THAT is what has divided us.
G-d set down some pretty common sense rules, and the blatant disreguard of those laws has put the barrier between us.
“There was even a time when the Christian Coalition determined that its number one legislative priority was tax cuts for the rich,” Obama said. “I don’t know what Bible they’re reading, but it doesn’t jibe with my version.”
There’s that thing about ‘rendering unto Caesar’ and all that. Well, since when does the government have the right to keep it’s hand in the pockets of those who earned the money, and create jobs for those without? How do you think jobs are created Mr. Obama? By the government? It’s private enterprise that makes the jobs, created by money of the wealthy.
I’m not sure what version of the Bible he is reading. I don’t see anything in mine that says it’s ok to murder unborn children, or it’s just peachy for gays to ‘marry’. I haven’t read anything about the government creating paupers from the wealthy. Giving to charity is a personal thing, NOT a government thing.
In 1972, the church was the first to ordain an openly gay man. Two years ago, the church endorsed same-sex marriage, the largest Christian denomination to do so. Obama believes that states should decide whether to allow gay marriage, and he opposes a constitutional amendment against it.
Guess what “church” I won’t be attending!
Conservative Christian bloggers have linked Obama to what they call the “unbiblical” teachings of his church. Theological conservatives believe gay relationships violate Scripture, while more liberal Christians emphasize the Bible’s social justice teachings.
We’re falling down a rabbit hole, and may never be able to get out. Wouldn’t it be wiser to stop the fall?
I wish I could put into words what I think about Obama’s attack, and that’s what it was, an attack.
And by the way, I do NOT find Barack Obama ‘attractive’. I keep hearing that so many people find him attractive. I don’t. I think he’s rather dorky looking. Not because of the color of his skin, but because….well, he’s dorky looking.
as opposed to…..
?
No contest! But his looks are irrelevant. It’s what is inside that scares me!
So, my question to Senator Obama: Should we make it up as we go along, as the left seems to have been doing for the last 40 years, or do we follow G-d’s law over man’s?
FNC
I am totally disgusted with Fox News Channel! I set the DVR to record that “banned” PBS show, and what do I get? A melodramatic Geraldo Rivera! What on earth made Fox think that if they insist on the 24 hour coverage of speculation about the poor mother and child murder, that Geraldo would be the best choice?
I notice they say very little about the man arrested for shooting his wife and children in the SUV up in the Chicago area.
When did Fox decide it was going to become a combination clone of Court TV and CNN? Give me news! Real news! NOT a lot of speculation. Leave the punditry for the pundit shows!
