An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
We, The People VS Them, the Weasels
It’s the people vs. the government, new poll suggests
How do people think the Democratic Congress is doing after six months? Lousy. But better than the alternative.
By alternative, do they mean a Republican majority? Oh, I don’t know, I didn’t see the approval ratings for the Repubs anywhere near as low, and they were doing a lousy job too.
It’s midyear, and the Democratic Congress is taking a break. Well-deserved? No, say Republicans.
“We are now halfway through the first year of the 110th Congress,” Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Virginia, said. “And there is no question that the failure on the part of the Democrats in terms of their midterm exam is really a letdown to the expectations of the American people.”
I don’t suppose it ever occurs to those in Washington that people are disgusted with this Congress cuz they are full of sh*t? Naw….that would never even cross their minds.
Democratic leaders are inclined to agree. “I’m not happy with Congress, either,” Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said.
The biggest ‘brown eye’ on the Hill!
And the American people? Look at the grades. President Bush is doing terribly — an average of 30 percent job approval in six recent polls. Congress is doing worse — 25 percent on the average in five polls.
Why the low marks? Democrats point to one issue where not much seems to be getting done. “The war in Iraq is dragging down people’s confidence in what’s going on in this country,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said.
Un, no. It’s because y’all are full of sh*t! Every time y’all open your collective mouths, lies fall out, and we aren’t as stupid as you seem to believe.
Republicans point to another issue. “One of the reasons that confidence is at an all-time low is because of the immigration bill,” Sen. Jim DeMint, R-South Carolina, said.
I’m none too fond of the Republicans right now either. Anyone else notice how many of the Repubs who waited to vote on cloture Thursday till they saw which way the wind was blowing? Nope, none too thrilled with a good chunk of them either!
So, are voters ready to change horses again and go back to a Republican Congress? Nope.
Oh, I’m ready to ‘change horses’. Big time, but not in the way they think. I’m all for CONSERVATIVE, SUPPORT AMERICANS, KICK SOME BUTT, Republicans. Sadly, there don’t seem to be many around anymore, at least not in Washington, D.C.
A solid majority says it’s good for the country that the Democratic Party is in control of Congress. Even though they’re doing a lousy job? Yes.
Gee, ya think CNN might be a tad ….umm…..SLANTED?
People think, OK, the Democrats aren’t so great. But the Republicans are worse.
Right now, with a few exceptions, they ALL suck!
But Americans are not convinced that changing parties will make much difference. The new dynamic in American politics right now isn’t Democrat versus Republican.
How ’bout an third party? No, I don’t see the Libertarians gaining a whole lot of ground. It’s the whole legalizing drugs and open borders business. Although, the problem with any third, or fourth, or fifth party would be the media, because they wouldn’t want you to know!
The new dynamic is the people versus the government. The immigration bill is a perfect illustration. It was a bipartisan bill, supported by President Bush and by most Democrats in Congress. Why didn’t it pass? Because the people didn’t like it.
Now there’s an understatement: Because the people didn’t like it. Sadly, neither some in the Senate, on both sides of the aisle, nor the President of the United States, seems to give a happy crap. So, they’ll be dredging up this poor excuse of a ‘bill’ again, with a different name. Probably after they do their darnedest to shut down talk radio.

The Dems have shown they are imbeciles, the Repubs are acting like morons, all this means is that a lot of Conservative candidates will have a great opportunity in the next election!
I really hope you’re right!
Sometimes I question the sanity of the American voters.
