I’m Banned!

29 June 2007, 1:09 pm. 5 Comments. Filed under Chuckles, Feckless Weasels, U.S. Military.

Is that cool or what? Seems the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Administration has decided there are verboten blogs. The fact that some of those blogs that are on the ‘ban list’ are now defunct doesn’t seem to faze the WI V.A. However, I am in some pretty distinguished company, none the less! :-)

Go here!

Pete asks: The question I have, as a veteran, is all those vets in VA Hospitals that might have access to computers who are being DENIED access to Wisconsin blogs….(or even TMJ or JSOnline for that matter).

Good question to pose to our VA Administration I would think.

Damn good question!  Such banning puts them in the ‘feckless weasel’ category.

London car bomb ‘packed with nails and gas’

London escaped what could have been its worst terrorist attack this morning when a car bomb packed with nails, gas canisters and containers of petrol apparently failed to detonate outside a popular West End nightclub hosting a ‘ladies’ night’.

I’d say it’s time for some drastic measures. Now, this is going to sound extremely bigoted, but I don’t care. Evict the Muslims! It’s not the Presbyterians trying to blow up expensive cars, and it sure isn’t the Druids! So why not evict those who ARE causing the problems? Yes, not all are radical, but how can you tell who is who? Solve the problem, make them all leave.

Junior GOP senators defeat old guard

Instead, the young guns — a small, wily group of junior Republican senators, most of them with less than a full term in the upper chamber — sent the bill into a tailspin, tying Democratic leaders into legislative knots and earning enough opposition among senators to block the Senate bill, culminating in yesterday’s vote to kill the measure.

Perhaps they can still remember who butters their bread? :-) Seems the “old guard” has completely forgotten it’s us that got ‘em in, and it’s US who can send ‘em home!

Israeli President Submits Resignation

His resignation two weeks before his seven-year term was to expire takes effect Sunday and clears the way for his indictment on lesser charges of indecent acts, sexual harassment and obstruction of justice. He will receive a suspended prison sentence and be required to pay damages to two of his four accusers, all former female employees.

I’m surprised this slimeball wasn’t pushed out LONG before now!

Thousands of flights cancelled at D/FW, across country because of weather

The carrier (AA) said it canceled 862 flights because of weather or air traffic control issues on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, including 412 flights on Wednesday alone. In addition, it had to divert 178 flights on those three days, 132 of which had been headed to D/FW.

So, if you had plans to fly to the Metroplex, I’d suggest you check and make sure you can get back out!

F.D.A. Curbs Sale of Five Seafoods Farmed in China

The F.D.A. said it decided to take the action after years of warnings and even a visit to Chinese fish ponds that resulted in no signs of improvement. But Dr. David Acheson, the F.D.A.’s assistant commissioner for food protection, stressed that the seafood posed no immediate health threat, though long-term consumption could result in health problems.

I wonder if China is trying to poison the world.

U.N. Inspectors, N. Korea Reach Agreement on Reactor Shutdown

“We have concluded this understanding, what our monitoring and verification activities are in principle,” IAEA Deputy Director Olli Heinonen said in footage shot by APTN. He did not provide specifics of the agreement.

If it’s the Useless Numnuts, odds are the ’specifics’ are just as meaningless.

Bredesen declares ‘Biofuels Day,’ but vetoes tax credits for ethanol

“First, I am concerned that this bill would result in the state paying private companies millions of dollars to continue to engage in activities that they are already undertaking, instead of incentivizing the expanded use of ethanol blended gasoline,” Bredesen wrote in a June 27 veto message.

With predicted milk prices soaring, I’d say it’s a good time to quash this ethanol nonsense. It’s more important to be able to provide milk for our children.

Sen. Cornyn: Amnesty proponents failed to dupe Americans

One of the senators who led a successful effort to block the so-called “comprehensive immigration reform” bill is welcoming the measure’s second death. John Cornyn says for the second time, the American people did not believe claims that the legislation would help secure the country’s borders.

I’m sure it just flusters the long timers in the Senate that we are NOT as stupid as they think we are!

FdL D.A. blasts Social Security Administration

O’Rourke was up in arms after a request to the U.S. Social Security Administration to provide someone to testify at a jury trial for Jose A. Lopez-Barrera — a 17-year-old Eden boy accused of using a false Social Security card to try and obtain a driver’s license — was denied.

I guess the SSA doesn’t think such fraud is all that important. They’re wrong!

A Good Day

This has been a good day for America.

For a while, it didn’t look like Washington was going to listen to us regarding real immigration reform. Thankfully, we’ve been spared a serious mistake, but I wonder if things would have turned out the way they did without the work done by the bloggers, talk radio and the American people. Rush, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, RedState, Powerline, Pajamas Media and a lot of others have done a great job. Take that, Fairness Doctrine.

I’m up in New Hampshire today. Met some great people and got to help the state GOP up in the Granite State. I did want to clarify something coming out of my time yesterday in Columbia, South Carolina.

Anybody who knows my track record or has read some of the things I’ve written about the Cuban-American community knows where I stand. While the communist dictatorship has been a tragedy for Cuba, America has been in some ways, at least, the beneficiary.

One of those benefits is the presence of the great Cuban-American artist, Gloria Estefan. She co-wrote a song called “No hay mal que por bien no venga” which I understand translates something like — there’s no bad that doesn’t bring some good. The bad that is Castro’s tyranny has given America one of the greatest communities in the Western Hemisphere.

Ann Responds

28 June 2007, 6:30 pm. 3 Comments. Filed under Opinion.

For the record, I LIKE Ann Coulter.  Nothing makes me chuckle more than another smart a$$ female.  What many on the right seem to forget, the majority of anything and everything Ann says is always taken out of context.  She can repeat exactly the same thing as someone on the left has said, yet you won’t hear about the lefty’s comment, you’ll hear about her’s.  Where’s the equal outrage?

That Was No Lady — That Was My Husband

The Edwards campaign is apparently still running low on donations, so this week they went back to their top fundraiser: me.

I doubled the ratings of the lowest-rated cable news show on Tuesday by agreeing to go on for a full hour to promote my new paperback version of “Godless” — a mistake I won’t make again. As I was walking to the set, minutes before airtime, it was casually mentioned to me that Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, might call in.

For the first time in recorded history, the show’s host did not interrupt a guest, but let Elizabeth Edwards ramble on and on, allowing her to browbeat me for being mean to her husband.

Say, did any TV host ever surprise Al Franken, Bill Maher or Arianna Huffington with a call by the wife of someone they’ve made nasty remarks about? How about a call to John Edwards from the wife of a doctor he bankrupted with his junk-science lawsuits?

I think I may have tuned out at some point, so I can only speak to the first 45 minutes of Elizabeth Edwards’ harangue, but it mostly consisted of utterly dishonest renditions of things I had said on my “Good Morning America” interview this week and a column I wrote four years ago. (You can’t rush Edwards’ “rapid response team”!) She claimed I had launched unprovoked attacks on the Edwards’ dead son and called for a terrorist attack on her husband.

These are bald-faced lies, and the mainstream media knows they are lies. Yet they were repeated ad nauseam on Wednesday by The Associated Press, the AOL pop-up window, CNN, NBC and — stunningly — the host of the lowest-rated cable show himself, who personally told me he knew the truth.

So for those of you who haven’t read any of my five best-selling books: Liberals are driven by Satan and lie constantly.

Here is my full sentence on “Good Morning America,” which the media deceptively truncated, referring to a joke I told about Edwards six months ago that made liberals cry: “But about the same time, you know, Bill Maher was not joking and saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack — so I’ve learned my lesson: If I’m going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I’ll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.”

And they insist they ‘love’ this country and support our troops? I don’t bloody well think so!

Leftists Disrespect Dead Soldiers

San Mateo- Anti war protestors have taken the liberties of our free speech amendment to post the following posters near Military Recruiting Offices.

Can they be even more disgusting? If it weren’t for those soldiers, they wouldn’t have the freedom to be a$$holes! They should be down on their knees thanking G-d for the men and women of our military!

Presidential Disappointment

28 June 2007, 2:43 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Borders.

President Bush Disappointed by Congress’s Failure to Act on Comprehensive Immigration Reform

THE PRESIDENT: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I’m sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning.

Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people and Congress’s failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn’t find a common ground — it didn’t work.

Congress really needs to prove to the American people that it can come together on hard issues. The Congress needs to work on comprehensive energy policy and good health care; make sure health care is affordable without inviting the federal government to run the health care system. We’ve got to work together to make sure we can balance this federal budget, and not overspend or raise taxes on the American people. We’ve got a lot of work to do.

When they come back from the summer — from the July recess, before the summer break begins, we’ll be focusing on the appropriations process. And I look forward to working with Congress to balance our budgets and to be wise about how we spend the people’s money.

Thank you for your time.

END 12:40 P.M. EDT

Well, gee, Mr. President, are you disappointed that, unlike YOU, a good chunk of the Senate got OUR message?

Car Bomb Kills at Least 22 in Iraq, 20 Found Beheaded

BAGHDAD, June 28 — A massive car bomb exploded at a street-side bus depot during Baghdad’s Thursday morning rush hour, killing at least 22 people and wounding more than 40 others in a tremendous explosion that set fire to scores of vehicles, Iraqi police said.

I’m at the point, they can blow themselves to smithereens. I’m just not sure I care anymore. After seeing how they treat their orphans? I’m finding it difficult to have any compassion.

Man With Headache Finds Bullet in Head

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A woman was arrested Tuesday after her husband woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible headache and later learned he had a bullet lodged in his head.

Sounds like he seriously chapped her hide.

Northwest’s unreliability irks passengers

Northwest Airlines frequent flier Mike Wingertzahn can recall a time when the airline provided reliable service into and out of Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport, where it is the second-busiest carrier.

There use to be a time when airlines actually treated people like people, instead of cattle. Now, they just plain suck. And Northwest is right up there at the top with AirTran on the suckage list.

McMahon: Don’t assume ‘roids in deaths

ATLANTA — World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon on Thursday urged people not to assume that steroids played a role in the murder-suicide of pro-wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and 7-year-old son.

(I thought McMahon was dead.) I’d rather blame this tragedy on ‘roid rage, than to think the man could smother his own child for no reason other than he wanted to.

Thompson’s campaign gets financial boost

Fred Thompson’s late entry into the presidential race shouldn’t hurt his ability to raise the millions of dollars necessary to mount a competitive campaign, according to a political expert.

I don’t think money is going to be Fred’s problem. :-) Even though many think he won’t be able to ‘catch up’ with the other candidates, at this point in time, they other candidates should be very concerned, and the bottom tier should just drop out. Actually, one or two at the top should throw in the towel too, considering recent events in the Senate.

Nifong a no-show at removal hearing

DURHAM, N.C. — Disgraced prosecutor Mike Nifong didn’t show up Thursday at a hearing to consider his immediate removal as Durham County district attorney, a position from which is has been suspended and already pledged to resign.

Hmmm….for someone so arrogant, you’d think he’d be front and center.

Court Limits Schools Considering Race

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected school diversity plans that take account of students’ race in two major public school districts but left the door open for using race in limited circumstances.

Honestly, they really need to remove race from any applications….schools, employment, etc.

Pope approves wider use of old Latin Mass

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Benedict XVI has approved a document that relaxes restrictions on celebrating the old Latin Mass used by the Roman Catholic Church for centuries until the modernizing reforms of the 1960s, the Vatican said Thursday.

One of my very best friends has mentioned often how much she misses the Latin Mass. Hope this will make her day. :-)

Hilton reveals little in post-jail interview
Saying her confinement was unfair, the hotel heiress confirms that she suffered panic attacks.

Paris Hilton says she doesn’t have a drinking problem, has never taken drugs and doesn’t believe she deserved to be behind bars.

“I think the crime did not fit the punishment,” the hotel heiress told CNN’s Larry King in a taped interview that aired Wednesday night.

Does anyone really give a happy crap. Poor whining baby! Although, I do have to admit, she looks a heck of a lot better without the ‘war paint’. I guess jail got her out of the hootchie mama faze, at least for a while.

Despite low ratings, House votes for raise

WASHINGTON — Despite record-low approval ratings, House lawmakers Wednesday voted to accept an approximately $4,400 pay raise that will increase their salaries to almost $170,000.

Are they freakin’ kidding? No way do any of them deserve a raise! The majority need to be flippin’ FIRED!
