An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
A PC Education?
Forget the fact that so many kids are leaving school unable to read, write, or do simple math. Forget that history is being re-written to sooth a few folks guilty consciences. No matter that “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
Schools told to dump Churchill and Hitler from history lessons
Secondary schools will strip back the traditional curriculum in favour of lessons on debt management, the environment and healthy eating, ministers revealed.
Even Winston Churchill no longer merits a mention after a drastic slimming-down of the syllabus to create more space for “modern” issues.
Along with Hitler, Gandhi, Stalin and Martin Luther King, the former prime minister has been dropped from a list of key figures to be mentioned in history teaching.
Not one of those named should EVER be removed from the history books. EVER! Hitler, who did his best to wipe out an entire group of people; Gandhi, who lived by peaceful resistance; Martin Luther King, who fought for equal rights of ALL citizens; Churchill, who led the British to victory over fascism. Not one of these names should be removed from what kids are taught!
The only individuals now named in guidance accompanying the curriculum are anti-slavery campaigners Olaudah Equiano and William Wilberforce.
Who? Obviously, my education is a bit lacking. However, won’t the lefties get their knickers in a twist because Wilberforce was a ……. GASP …… Christian leader?
Critics warned traditional subject disciplines were being stripped of key content and used to promote fashionable causes and poorly-defined “life skills”.
Here’s a ‘fashionable cause’ for ya: Teach them to THINK! Not just parrot back the blather that’s being forced down their throats, like ‘man made global warming’! If I go to a fast food joint, and the kid behind the counter can’t even make change from a $5.00 bill, what ‘life skills’ has he/she been taught?
The move was called “madness” by his grandson Nicholas Soames, the Tory MP.
“Madness” is an understatement! Out and out ignorance is more like it, with a few other four lettered words thrown in for good measure.
Schools are also being told to tear up the timetable of eight lessons a day and introduce classes lasting a few minutes – or several hours – by mixing different subjects together.
Why bother sending kids to school? They obviously aren’t getting education the education they’ll need to survive in the real world.
The architect of the new curriculum, Dr Ken Boston, insisted traditional approaches had been “exhausted”.
The old curriculum was used because, well, it worked! Reminds me of the new math they tried to push back when I was in elementary school. Useless! Took 3 times as long to come up with the answer for 1+1.
The slimline regime is being introduced amid concerns that teachers do not have enough time to ensure youngsters master the three Rs.
When they focus on the basics, kids are more likely to succeed in the …… frivolous. If they can’t read the PC propaganda, teaching it doesn’t do their cause a bit of good.

This type of non-thinking will cause a holocaust bigger than anything seen in the past.
I think it’s already started.
It seems that in Canada some kids still do know their history: http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2007/07/15/4341892-cp.html
