Kosovo: UN official sparks Serb protest for decision on usurped property

The chief of the United Nations administration in Kosovo (Unmik) Joachim Ruecker has triggered a wave of protests by Belgrade officials and Kosovo Serbs for suspending a decree on the return of usurped property to their legal owners.

Ruecker, who has wide arbitrary powers in Kosovo, which has been under UN control since 1999, last October ordered a special commission for the return of property to process some 25,000 cases of usurped property.

But last week he abruptly suspended the decision.

Ruceker said the suspension was of temporary nature, because there was no agreement between all interested parties – in particular the Kosovo government and the international community on how to handle the problem.

So, this Useless Numnut official started this process last October, but about 10 months later, he’s decided they don’t know what they’re doing?

Over 200,000 Serbs have fled Kosovo since the province was put under UN control and their apartments, homes and land have in most cases been seized by the provinces majority ethnic Albanian community.

From what I gather, the Serbs were trying to wipe out the Albanians, who I believe, are Muslim. The U.N. stepped in to stop the slaughter. Then it was turned around and the Albanians started killing the Serbs. Do I have that right? Or am I completely bass akwards?

Serbian deputy minister for Kosovo, Dusan Prorokovic, said Ruecker’s decision was “scandalous” and the worst taken by the UN administration in the past seven years.

I find it surprising that this is the worst decision by the Useless Numnuts. This is the U.N. we’re talking about here.

“This decision in the first place violates the right to private property, which is inviolable everywhere in the world, and secondly it awards the usurpers from whom illegally usurped property now can’t be taken away by legal means,” Prorokovic told Belgrade media.

I get the impression that the U.N. isn’t really gung ho about legally owned private property. Sadly, that attitude is seeping into our Federal Courts.

A Kosovo Serb leader Goran Bogdanovic said Ruecker’s decision would further encourage ethnic Albanian “extremist elements to continue the usurpation of Serbian property to show who is the real boss in Kosovo and that there is no room for Serbs”.

I may be off base, but it sounds like this guy from the U.N. is taking sides.

Another Kosovo Serb leader, Marko Jaksic, said Ruecker was continuing his “anti-Serb policies which should pave the way for the creation of an independent state of Kosovo”.

Most Western powers, headed by the United States, support Kosovo independence, demanded by majority ethnic Albanians, but the plan has been blocked by a threat of a Russian veto in the UN Security Council and new talks on Kosovo status should be held later this month.

I’ve really got to get out more. I honestly thought Kosovo was already an independent nation, which is why the ethnic war started to begin with, to see who was going to run the show, instead of working together as they had as neighbors for so many years. Is it ego, religion, jealousy….what? that fuels these types of disputes?

The higher up types in the gubmint might know about this going on, but this is the first I’ve heard of it.  I suppose anything that makes the U.N look even more useless should be hushed up by the media.

U.N. Employee Charged With Helping Foreigners Enter U.S. Illegally

A United Nations employee was arrested Monday on charges that he and two others used U.N. letterhead to gain permission for foreigners to enter the country illegally, prosecutors announced.

Vyacheslav Manokhin, a U.N. employee based in Manhattan, was accused of helping numerous non-U.S. citizens enter the country illegally by providing fraudulent documents so they could obtain visas to attend conferences that either did not exist or which they did not attend.

Now why doesn’t this surprise me? Oh yeah, cuz he works for the Useless Numnuts!

He was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud with regard to immigration documents, a charge which can result in a maximum punishment of five years in prison.

That’s it??? Five measly years? What kind of slime was he getting into our country? Are they the criminal types? Wait a minute. Yes, they ARE criminals if they are gaining entry ILLEGALLY!

Well Ain’t I Special!

Yes ladies and gentlemen.  I’m one very special ol’ broad!  I got an invitation to a down home barbeque.  And, for only $2300 per couple and a 7 hour drive, I get to chow down with Fred Dalton Thompson!

I’m really sorry, but odds are, I’ll have to decline said invitation.  Perhaps if it was $230, I’d consider, but once you add that extra zero, you are going way outta my league!  Of course, I could send ‘em a $230 donation, but I wouldn’t get the good munchies.   It doesn’t even offer the option for a lone diner.  Has to be a couple.  Well, Mr. Ol’ Broad won’t be down here till after the 20th, so I’m afraid he won’t make it either.

No disrespect intended towards Fred, or those hosting said BBQ, but if I were you, I’d look for the small dollar type donors to invite to a shindig, cuz they/we are going to be the ones filling the coffers for your campaign.
