Definitely over the top. I think he should have been 'sentenced' to cleaning up trash at the stadium. Would have been a bit more of an appropriate punishment. While well-executed, it really was not good sportsmanship. But since he did not use profanity, why wouldn't after school detention or saturday school be a more appropriate punishment.
