The worst thing about going to these conventions? Every time you turn around, they are giving you food. Sadly, it’s GOOD food. It’s also amazing that there are a lot of singing politicians in Tennessee. The mayor of Sullivan County did a really good rendition of Lee Greenwood’s Proud to Be An American.

The new slate of officers was introduced, but the only one I got to meet was the President, Shirley Ward. Really nice lady. She’s the one on the right (standing).

There were a few really good speeches. One theme really stood out in all of them. We need to come together. It doesn’t matter if you support Guiliani, Romney, Thompson, McCain, Huckabee, etc., we have got to get our act together. The Dhimmis see us as so divided because of one issue or another, whether it’s babies, taxes, the war. Obviously, we can stand firm on these issues, but we must find common ground with those who don’t.

After it was all over, Jr wanted to meet the President of the NFRW, Beverly Davis. I had met her a couple of years ago and found her to be a really friendly lady. She still is. Jr was extremely impressed with her.

All in all, it was quite a learning experience for Jr, and I got to meet other like minded women from around the state.

Tomorrow, we’re going to take our time getting home cuz there were a LOT of places we saw on the way up that would be great spots to play tourist. :) Who knows, it might take a couple of days to get home. Heh.
