Giuliani’s Hold on Lead Spot Is Eroding

Mayor Giuliani’s hold on the front-runner’s perch in the Republican presidential nomination is eroding, with two new polls showing that Mitt Romney is opening up a widening lead in New Hampshire, site of the first primary.

While Mr. Giuliani has maintained his lead in national polls and in several state surveys, the former Massachusetts governor is now comfortably ahead in both Iowa and New Hampshire, two hotly contested early-voting states that have traditionally played a crucial role in determining the Republican nominee.

We might have a surprise coming after all. This would be a good thing.

Al-Maliki trumpets decline of terror acts

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said yesterday that suicide attacks and other bombings in the Iraqi capital have dropped dramatically since last year’s high, calling it a sign of the end of sectarian violence. A top U.S. general here said he thinks the drop is sustainable, as Iraqis turn away from extremists.

Now, wouldn’t it be nice if the rest of Iraq got the message?

Abbas: Hamas carried out `heinous crime’ in Gaza

Hamas security forces on Monday opened fire at a mass rally commemorating the death of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, violently dispersing close to 250,000 people who had gathered in the largest public display of support for the rival Fatah movement since Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip in June.

While personally, I can’t imagine celebrating anything to do with Arafat, shooting into a rally certainly isn’t going to win Hamas a whole lot of support among those attending.

Saudi prince becomes first to buy world’s largest passenger plane, the A380

Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Tala is the first private buyer of an A380 superjumbo, the world’s largest passenger airliner, European planemaker Airbus said today.

The prospective buyer’s identity had been kept secret for months but was unveiled to coincide with the Dubai air show.

Prince Alwaleed, whose interests span Kingdom Holding to Euro Disney, hotels and banking, has ordered a VIP version of the A380 dubbed the Flying Palace.

Ever wonder how much money these ridiculously rich Saudis cough up to charity? Irrelevant, but just curious.

Hillary: I Know Nothing

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday that she had no idea that her presidential campaign had planted questions during public appearances.

“It was news to me,” Clinton said, according to Fox News. “And neither I nor my campaign approve of that. And it will certainly not be tolerated.”

I seriously doubt there is anything that goes on that woman doesn’t know about, or isn’t orchestrating. Gimme a break!

Bipartisan bill counters amnesty agenda

First-term Congressman Heath Shuler (D-North Carolina) says he introduced the “Secure America Through Verification and Enforcement Act of 2007″ (or the SAVE Act of 2007) because it is exactly what the American people want. HR 4088 would add 8,000 Border Patrol agents and give them new technology and infrastructure needed to secure the country’s northern and southern borders. It would also add 1,200 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

I didn’t see anything about the cost for buses in this bill. I just might have to do a little closer inspection on this one.

Armitage says he was ‘foolish’ to leak CIA agent’s name

The man who revealed that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA said that he was “extraordinarily foolish” to leak her name.

Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in an interview broadcast Sunday that he did not realize Plame was a covert agent when he discussed her with syndicated columnist Robert Novak.

Yeah yeah. Can we move on now? Doesn’t anyone really care what the media whores did, or did not, do in their previous lives?

Feinstein blasts response to oil spill

Sen. Dianne Feinstein lambasted the oil-spill response effort of the past week, saying Sunday that it revealed a disturbing lack of readiness for disasters in the Bay Area – and that the full weight of the federal government will now be brought into a rigorous investigation to find out what went wrong.

“It’s pretty clear cities around the bay should have been brought in faster than they were,” Feinstein said after being briefed by federal and state officials at the spill command center on Treasure Island. “We will see what we can do about the management systems of the San Francisco Bay to prevent these types of incidents from ever happening again.”

I don’t think SanFran would be prepared for anything, due to the fact they aren’t part of the real world. :/

Okay, Hilary. Either you are charge of your own campaign which means you knew a fugitive was raising money and your campaign was planting questions. Or, you are clueless about what people are doing in your name and an incompetent manager. Either way, you aren’t fit to be president.

I wish someone could explain to me how the woman can have such high UNfavorables yet be considered the shoe in as the nominee. Makes NO sense!
