An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
Christmas Morning
I’m sitting here looking out at the frost on the deck railings, grateful it’s not snow. 
It’s quite because there are no small children in the house, and besides the cats galloping back and forth, Mr. Spot doing his weird ‘gimme some attention’ howl, I’m the only one awake. I love this time in the morning. No TV, no radio, just the occasional Hootie trying to get into the cabinet trying to get away from the aforementioned Mr. Spot.

Ooops….spoke too soon. No matter how old they get, they come in squawking…..”WAKE UP! IT’S CHRISTMAS! IT’S CHRISTMAS!”
Our massive tree….
which fits quite nicely on top of the entertainment center, all 18 inches of it, with the Nativity, and a spare angel. I think my oldest sister gave us that a few years ago.

which isn’t so massive.
I’m wearing mine, and you don’t get to see it. No Fred, not jammies!
My greatest gift, though, is Mr. Ol’ Broad here, with me, in our home, Jr running around in her bare feet, no matter how many times I tell her to put on her slippers, getting to spend New Year’s with family in Texas, plus Brat’s bday and the VERY greatest gift…..the REASON for the Season!

Merry Christmas, from a snowless Smyrna! (When I was a kid in the White Mountains of Arizona, we always had snow. One winter, ‘66-’67, we had 6′drifts and Christmas was…postponed. I miss that deep stuff!)
ACK! You can keep that white stuff. Gimme 80 degrees year ’round, and I’ll be a happy camper.
