For McCain, It Could Be State of Resurgence

A jet carrying Sen. John McCain of Arizona touched down Wednesday evening on Iowa’s western border, marking a remarkable comeback for the veteran politician and opening another intriguing narrative in the wide-open Republican field.

McCain had been left for dead politically this summer, and now his decision to return to a state he skipped altogether in his 2000 bid for the White House is one of the many signs that the GOP contest for president is still in search of a front-runner.

I don’t buy into anything the press says anymore. They are pushing the candidates they think the Dhimmis can beat, instead of giving REAL coverage of REAL conservatives.

Victims may have dangled leg over tiger’s moat, says report

The father of a teen who was killed by a tiger at the San Francisco Zoo questioned the facility’s safety on Thursday, as police reportedly considered whether one of the victims taunted the deadly jungle cat.

Sources close to the investigation told the San Francisco Chronicle that police are probing whether one of the Siberian tiger’s three victims climbed over a fence Christmas Day and then dangled a leg or other body part over the moat.

Police said Carlos Sousa, 17, of San Jose was killed just outside the tiger’s enclosure. The two others, who were injured, were about 300 yards away by a cafe.

How stupid can one person be? I can see small children dumb things, right before a parent smacks them upside the head, “He’ll rip your eyes out!” But a 17 year old should have known better! These aren’t house cats! They are very LARGE felines who view you as food, or an annoyance, to be dealt with accordingly.

Texas deadliest state for police officers in 2007

Ron DeLord of the Peace Officers Memorial Foundation, an organization that honors fallen Texas officers at a memorial on the Capitol grounds in Austin, said it’s not clear why there was such an increase in fatalities this year or whether the increase is a spike or an omen.

“I wish I knew, because I’m not sure there’s a pattern,” Mr. DeLord said. “We lost three officers in Odessa called out on a family disturbance and two Henderson County deputies on a disturbance. Some of these others are just random.

“I think it’s always been violent. Why it’s spiked, I don’t know the answer.”

I can think of a few answers! None of which are ‘politically correct’. Let’s see, increased number of illegals, running drugs, bringing in gang members, a total lack of respect for the law, parents not giving a happy crap where their kids are….the list is long. And it IS society’s problem, and it’s all intertwined. My prayers are with the families of all those lost. My wishes for a fiery pit for those who caused the losses.

Report: Progress made on Shalit deal

The Palestinian News Agency Maan reported Thursday that a breakthrough has been accomplished in regards to kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

According to the report, Egypt has been able to convince Israel to accept some of Hamas’ demands, including the release of 200 Palestinian prisoners – some of them militant cell leaders – who Israel considers to be “extremely dangerous”.

I don’t understand why Israel would ‘sell it’s soul’ to a bunch of murdering thugs.

Military thinks twice on fortified trucks

It was just what American soldiers had been longing for — a patrol vehicle designed to withstand the powerful roadside bombs that have killed more service members than any other insurgent weapon in the Iraq war.

But as the Defense Department hits its year-end goal of delivering 1,500 heavily armored, V-hulled “mine-resistant ambush-protected” trucks to Iraq, the feeling in the Pentagon is far from elation. Instead, an intense debate has broken out over whether the vehicle that is saving lives also could undermine one of the most important lessons of the whole war: how to counter an insurgency.

If this is a military decision, that’s one thing. But if it’s a political one? You counter an ‘insurgency’ by wiping ‘em out! Yes, there will be collateral damage, but there is in every war.

Giuliani’s doctor says he’s in ‘very good health’ after tests

One week after a severe headache forced Rudy Giuliani to spend a night in the hospital, his doctor declared the Republican presidential candidate to be “in very good health.”

Glad he’s ok. Still not voting for him in the primaries.

2 arrested in deaths of 6 in rural Wash.

Investigators will continue poring over a grisly scene east of Seattle today to try and figure out why six people — possibly three generations of a family — were shot and killed on Christmas Eve.

One of two suspects arrested Wednesday is a woman in her 20s who is related to the victims, King County sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart said. The other is a man in his 20s.

A law enforcement official, who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said the property owner’s daughter, Michele Anderson, 29, and her boyfriend, Joseph McEnroe, were arrested. The official was not authorized to release the suspects’ names.

What kind of worthless POS would shoot a 3 year old and a 6 year old!

I am guessing that the dude who got mauled was either drunk, high, or both. If neither apply then he never should have been outside parental supervision, because he was an idiot. On a level playing field when it is man vs Nature…Nature tends to win more then she loses

I’m inclined to believe it was all of the above! :/
