Corker says Pakistan needs free and fair election

U.S. Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, who met with Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan in November, says Pakistan needs free and fair elections in the aftermath of her assassination.

He said he feels Pakistan’s citizens will stand together to reject extremist ideology and demand freedom and the rule of law.

Corker, a Chattanooga Republican, acknowledged that democracy will not come easily to the country.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he met with Bhutto in her home in Pakistan on Nov. 30 during a Congressional delegation trip to Asia.

Corker said the U.S. must do everything possible to support the efforts of those who pursue the growth of democracy.

Bob Corker has a “DUH” moment.  However, what he isn’t saying….WE will be paying for them to do ‘everything possible’.  He also isn’t saying that Pakistan is being overrun by Islamonazis, thanks in great part to Musharef’s failure to deal with his own border.  We’ve spent BILLIONS propping up a military dictator with nothing to show for it but more bloodshed.  Sorry Bob, I just don’t see it.
