Warning!
Bishop warns of no-go zones for non-Muslims
Islamic extremists have created “no-go” areas across Britain where it is too dangerous for non-Muslims to enter, one of the Church of England’s most senior bishops warns today.
The Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester and the Church’s only Asian bishop, says that people of a different race or faith face physical attack if they live or work in communities dominated by a strict Muslim ideology.
The Muslim Council of Britain today described his comments as “frantic scaremongering”, while William Hague, the shadow foreign secretary, said the bishop had “probably put it too strongly”.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said the idea of no-go areas was “a gross caricature of reality”.
Writing in The Sunday Telegraph, Bishop Nazir-Ali compares the threat to the use of intimidation by the far-Right, and says that it is becoming increasingly difficult for Christianity to be the nation’s public religion in a multifaith, multicultural society.
His comments come as a poll of the General Synod – the Church’s parliament – shows that its senior leaders, including bishops, also believe that Britain is being damaged by large-scale immigration.
Bishop Nazir-Ali, who was born in Pakistan, gives warning that attempts are being made to give Britain an increasingly Islamic character by introducing the call to prayer and wider use of sharia law, a legal system based on the Koran.
In an attack on the Government’s response to immigration and the influx of “people of other faiths to these shores”, he blames its “novel philosophy of multiculturalism” for allowing society to become deeply divided, and accuses ministers of lacking a “moral and spiritual vision”.
Just how much longer are the citizens of Britain going to put up with Muslim ass kissing? It starts slowly, the foot baths, the no offending such delicate sensibilities, such as cartoons, etc., to the point it becomes a separate country within a country, spreading out, taking over. It’s already started here. Are we going to become a ‘colony’ of Islam, too? Occasionally, a little ‘fear mongering’ could save a nation.

Fox: Fair and Balanced?
I am so disappointed in the ‘forum’ on Fox News. It seems there were only three candidates behind the desk, Romney, Hucklebee and McCain. The other two, Thompson and Guiliani, were evidently invisible for the most part.
The Forum
I’ll be watching the ‘forum’, but I’ll be reading over at No Runny Eggs! What? Did you think I was gonna live blog that puppy? No way! That’s hard work, and I don’t wanna!

Nevada Town Submerged in Frozen Floodwater, 5 Missing in Calif., Colo., Storms
Hundreds of homes sat in as much as 8 feet of water Sunday following a canal rupture as freezing temperatures hindered efforts to get the water to drain away.
So, what’s the excuse for your silence? That water shouldn’t be freezing! Al said so!
“I Owe You Nothing!”
Don’t ya just love it when someone slaps down the MSM? Heh! And Fred does it soooooo well!

Underdog Clinton Goes After Obama
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton tried repeatedly to knock Sen. Barack Obama off his footing during a high-stakes debate here on Saturday night — criticizing his health-care proposal and questioning his ability to bring about change and actually serve as president.
“Words are not action,” she said, seeking to draw a distinction between the inspirational rhetoric that catapulted Obama into victory in the Iowa caucuses and what she said was her own long record of being an effective agent of change.
I think the American people have seen about all the ‘action’ from the Clinton’s they can stand!
‘Bush moving peace process forward’
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said that while he shared the misgivings of many in the Arab World about the intentions of the US president, he hoped to see concrete developments during the trip.
“We will be waiting to see what the US offers during the upcoming visit of President Bush, who bears the responsibility of moving the process forward as the one who called the Annapolis meeting,” he said at the conclusion of a two-day meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.
Excuse me. Am I just naive, or is it NOT the U.S.’s responsibility to create a peace for the Israeli’s and Palestinians? Shouldn’t they be doing that themselves? What’s Bush going to do? Try to BUY peace?
Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas to endorse John McCain
On Sunday, Douglas spokesman Jason Gibbs confirmed a report in the Valley News of Lebanon, N.H., that said Douglas would announce his support of McCain at an event on Monday in Hanover.
During his five years as governor of Vermont, Douglas has taken a moderate position and promoted fiscal conservativism.
Douglas is planning to speak on Monday at a campaign rally at noon at the Hopkins Center on the Dartmouth College campus in Hanover.
Vermont has a Republican governor?
Clinton argues she is more pro-abortion than Obama
Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton criticizes rival Barack Obama’s record on abortion rights in a mailing sent to New Hampshire voters.
The mailer says that seven times during his time in the Illinois state Senate, Obama declined to take a position on abortion bills, while Clinton has been a defender of abortion rights.
Well, there’s something for a woman to be proud of….supporting the murder of babies! (read EXTREME sarcasm!)
Levee breaks amid West Coast storms
Still more snow piled up Sunday in the Sierra Nevada, where at least 5 feet had fallen from a storm that contributed to flooding in Fernley, killed at least three people and blacked out thousands of customers.
Forecasters predicted more rain and snow Sunday, but without the severity of the weather that has pounded the three-state region for three days.
From what I heard from a person who is actually in the area, the media is making all this out to be a whole lot worse than it is. Big surprise there! While it is bad, they need the snow and rain.
Friends hope for ‘miracle’ as missing hiker presumed dead
After arresting a 61-year-old man in the disappearance of a young woman last seen hiking on a north Georgia mountain, a state Bureau of Investigation spokesman said authorities’ search efforts had shifted from rescue to recovery.
The news came after investigators found identification cards and blood-stained clothes belonging to Meredith Emerson, 24. The discovery led police to charge Gary Michael Hilton with kidnapping with intent to cause bodily injury, according to a criminal warrant filed Saturday.
Thoughts and prayers with the family.
Huckabee tax plan raises eyebrows in U.S.
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s plan to eliminate all income taxes and replace them with a flat consumption tax has the support of martial arts guru Chuck Norris but few economic analysts.
Flat consumption tax? Anybody remember the “yacht tax”?
Energy Saving, Or Toxic Wasteland?

An energy saving bulb has gone – evacuate the room now!
Energy-saving light bulbs are so dangerous that everyone must leave the room for at least 15 minutes if one falls to the floor and breaks, a Government department warned yesterday.
The startling alert came as health experts also warned that toxic mercury inside the bulbs can aggravate a range of problems including migraines and dizziness.
And a leading dermatologist said tens of thousands of people with skin complaints will find it hard to tolerate being near the bulbs as they cause conditions such as eczema to flare up.
If the Brits can figure this out, why can’t Congress?

Consumers are to face another steep increase in the cost of baked products tomorrow as a result of a further 22 per cent addition to the cost of bakery flour and related goods.
“It simply means that consumers can expect an immediate increase in the cost of baked products,” president of the Bakers’ Asso-ciation of Jamaica, Gerry Chambers, told The Sunday Gleaner. “There was a 20 per cent increase in September and since then, the price of sugar went up, so that only compounds the situation.”
Now, what does the price of bread in Jamaica got to do with anything?
The instability in prices for wheat has also been linked to the demand for corn as feedstock for fuel-grade ethanol production, as farmers in the United States shift their fields from wheat to corn.
Can we PLEASE get off this ethanol kick? How stupid do you have to be to take food out of the mouths of children to put in your freakin’ car? We have a LOT of oil within the shores of the U.S. Drill! Refine! We can use the time to look for viable alternatives, instead of putting food in the gas tanks!
