An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
Some Advice
Jay, at Stop the ACLU, has some excellent advice for conservatives:
A simple note to true conservatives that believe in the Reagan revolution, especially in South Carolina. There seems to be a trend. Huckabee was a nobody, then he rose up in Iowa and the national polls followed that surge. New Hamphire answered differntly, choosing McCain. The national polls followed. The trend of the national polls following the popular choice sends out a terrible message. That message is that too many people are stupid and make their choices on the factor of popularity istead of the issues.
I’m begging everyone to please research each candidate through and through and compare them against what they really believe. If you believe in illegal immigrants getting amnesty then vote for McCain. If you believe that raising taxes is the answer to our problems, then vote for Huckabee. If you are anti-gun, vote for Rudy. If you are for smaller government and lower taxes, vote for Fred Thompson.
Seriously, put all your bias aside, because the future of America is at stake. Look at each and every candidate and study their past. Take a look at all of their records and really think before you vote. Ignore the polls completely. This is about more than popularity and electability. Its about the core of conservatism.
I’d rather a democrat get power and screw things up a bit, as long as the blame lands back on that liberal ideology, than to have a RINO get power and screw up the name of conservatism any further. Please…think before you vote.
Fairly sound advice, if ya ask me!
