Pot Vending Machines

Ironically…pot dispensing vending machines have been approved in California.

Starting Monday, patients can buy legal medical marijuana at a Los Angeles herbal nutrition center.

All they have to do is pass through security, submit their scripts, pay, and pick-up their drugs.

Store employees say it is a safe, fast way to process prescriptions.

Geoff Dulebohn, Herbal Nutrition Center: “They’ll slide card in, and they’ll fingerprint in to verify that it’s them. A camera takes a picture of them, verifying that they’re actually at the machine.”

The state will start with two prescription vending machines offering medical marijuana. Owners believe they could eventually become as common as soda machines.

And they say this like it’s a good thing?  sigh….  Even Jr commented that this idea is just an “abuse waiting to happen”.

Gagged! Network censors eating ‘Muhammad’ cookie

A national television network has decided to censor an episode of a new political show featuring self-described Christian “infidels” eating a cookie emblazoned with an image of the Muslim prophet Muhammad.

Faith TV made the decision in the wake of WND news coverage about “Flamethrower,” a cutting-edge program whose latest episode originally scheduled for this week deals with “All Things Islam.”

“We’re not going to air it,” said Jim West, president of the Florida-based, Christian network. “We feel this program just goes beyond the bounds of good taste.”

Oh, I don’t know. That cookie looks like it tastes pretty good to me! But then, I’m hungry, AND an infidel.

Click, and scroll down to see the ‘offensive’ cookie eating.

Driver Who Killed Teen Sues for Damage

MADRID, Spain — A speeding motorist who killed a teenage cyclist is suing the boy’s parents over damage to his luxury car, the government says.

Enaitz Iriondo, 17, died instantly in August 2004 when businessman Tomas Delgado’s Audi A8 crashed into him at 100 mph near Haro in northern Spain, an Interior Ministry traffic report said. The speed limit was 55 mph.

Iriondo was not wearing reflective clothing or a helmet, the ministry report said. As the sun had set when he crossed the path of Delgado’s car from a side road, a regional court found both parties at fault and closed the case, the report said.

Delgado, whose insurance company paid Iriondo’s parents $48,500 in compensation for their son’s life, filed a suit in late 2006 to recover $29,400 in damages to his car and car rental costs, the ministry traffic report said.

“It’s the only way I have to claim my money back,” Delgado was quoted as saying by the newspaper El Pais, which first reported the story on Friday. El Pais said a ruling was expected next week.

Iriondo’s parents were shocked.

“It’s the final straw, a stab in the back,” Iriondo’s mother, Rosa Trinidad said, according to El Pais. “Before the lawsuit we thought the poor guy would find it hard to live the rest of his life with the thought of having caused our son’s death.

Iran Reports 7th Shipment of Russian Nuclear Fuel

Iran’s official news agency says the country has received a seventh shipment of nuclear fuel from Russia for its first atomic power plant.

The Islamic Republic News Agency says the consignment of 11 tons of uranium fuel rods arrived at the Bushehr plant in southern Iran Saturday.

The report says the plant, which needs an initial supply of 82 tons of fuel, has so far received 77 tons and that the final shipment is expected soon.

Iran has said it wants the plant to begin operating as early as the middle of this year.

Oh, just peachy! What the world needs….fanatics with even more nuclear materials.

GOP, Dem candidates far apart on economy

Republicans vow to preserve Bush’s tax cuts, arguing that they promote investment that boosts the economy and creates jobs. Democrats promise to reverse the cuts for upper-income taxpayers. They insist that the breaks mainly benefit the rich and contribute to the widening gap between low- and middle-income Americans and those at the top of the scale.

Uh huh….Republicans would prefer for us to keep a little of our money to put back into the economy by way of spending. The Dhimmicrats can’t dig their hands deep enough into our pockets, in the quest to redistribute the wealth, ala socialism. Yep….BIG differences!

Candidates descend on state and Nashville

Fred Thompson is gone, and suddenly Tennessee looks like a battleground state.

Less than two weeks before the Feb. 5 presidential primary, a growing number of presidential candidates have scheduled or plan a swing through the state before voters hit the polls.

I wouldn’t walk across the street to spit on any of ‘em if they were on fire! Well, maybe Romney, but none of the others!

Mottaki: Iran isn’t threatening Israel, doesn’t want nukes

“Iran is not threatening Israel and does not want nuclear weapons, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Saturday.

Speaking to Israel Radio on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Mottaki said that it was Israel that possessed nuclear weapons and “it is threatening Teheran.”

Really? I guess Ahmabooboo was just talkin’ out his ass when he said “Israel must be wiped off the map”, eh?

American woman kidnapped in Afghanistan

Gunmen kidnapped a burqa-clad American aid worker and her driver while they were traveling through volatile southern Afghanistan early Saturday, a provincial governor said.

The two were stopped by the gunmen outside of the city of Kandahar, Asadullah Khalid said. He blamed the kidnapping on the “enemy of Islam and the enemy of Afghanistan.”

Khalid said the 49-year-old American had been wearing a burqa when she was taken. She worked for the aid agency Asian Rural Life Development Foundation, he said.

Just who, or what, is the “enemy of Islam and the enemy of Afghanistan”?

Egyptian Security Personnel Injured at Breached Gaza Border

At least 36 Egyptian security personnel have been hospitalized, including some in critical condition, due to incidents with Palestinians on the Gaza border, the Egyptian foreign minister announced Saturday.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit told reporters following a meeting with the Egyptian president and several cabinet ministers, that between 10 and 12 riot police and 26 border guards, including two senior officers, were all in the hospital, some in danger of losing their lives, due to “actions by Palestinian elements” over the past two days.

Parasites on the rampage! The picture shows a little girl being dragged over the fence. ONE little girl among throngs of men. It makes one think that she is being used as a shield. Egypt might want to rethink their offer of hospitality.

Annan hits out at Kenya ‘abuses’

Police brought 16 badly burnt bodies to the mortuary in Nakuru, the capital of Rift Valley province. Nine other bodies had been recovered the previous evening, reports said.

Some 15 bodies – covered in arrow wounds – were reported to have been recovered following fighting between rival communities in the district of Molo.

Mr Annan – in Kenya to mediate attempts for a political solution – was flown over Nakuru on Saturday as part of a tour that also included visits to Eldoret and Molo.

And that useless POS is going to do…..what?

Migrant Girl, 5, Rescued in Arizona

Candy began her journey with her stepfather and a group of illegal immigrants, said Raul Saavedra, deputy consul with the Mexican consulate in Douglas. But her 25-year-old stepfather was feeling tired and the coyote left him behind.
(…)
The girl’s stepfather did not have legal custody of the child, Saavedra said.

Children of illegal immigrants frequently are separated from their parents while trying to cross into the United States, Rodriguez said.

Anybody ever wonder what happens to those children? Does anyone care? Build the freakin’ fence…..FOR THE CHILDREN!

Bush may move to Dallas after leaving White House

President Bush seemed to confirm this week what has been an open secret for months: He and his wife will be moving to Dallas when they leave the White House next year.

Mr. Bush, greeting a handful of mayors Wednesday at the White House, stopped when he saw Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert.

“There’s my new mayor,” the president was quoted as saying.

I’m sure Dallas is so thrilled. They should all get along quite well. Pfft!

McCain’s Fiscal Mantra Becomes Less Is More

Senator John McCain said that, if elected, he would do what other presidents had tried but failed to do: cut government spending sharply enough to reduce the budget deficit while lowering taxes at the same time.

Isn’t this the same guy who voted against Bush’s tax cuts?

In an interview outlining his economic approach, Mr. McCain emphasized his experience working on economic matters in Congress and laid out an unorthodox version of conservatism. After initially opposing President Bush’s tax cuts, he has become a supporter of making them permanent and of pursuing additional tax reductions, saying they are the best way to encourage economic growth.

Changing stripes again, eh?
