I Concede….
….with an endorsement, of sorts!

If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll know I was a serious Fred supporter. Well, for obvious reason, like he crapped out on me, and all his other supporters, BEFORE Super Tuesday, I have lost my candidate.
I liked Rudy, but never took him serious as a candidate because, well, I’m conservative, VERY conservative, and he’s not. How ’bout Mike Huckabee? Well, he is an evangelical, but he doesn’t seem to be strong on common sense. John McCain? Paleeeeeze! Mr Juan? Mr McFeingold? I don’t bloody well think so.
So, here I am, making a decision. I will be voting for Mitt on Super Tuesday. Well, that is if I can figure out where to vote.

Ralph Nader Kicks Off Exploratory Presidential Bid
Ralph Nader is seeking the presidency — again.
The consumer activist and political gadfly kicked off an exploratory presidential campaign Wednesday with the launch of a new Web site that promises he’ll fight “corporate greed, corporate power, corporate control†and asks people to donate $300 each.
Nader sought the White House in each of the last three presidential elections: He ran on the Green Party ticket in 1996 and 2000, and as an independent in 2004.
Y’know….if it weren’t for the so called ‘corporate greed’, there wouldn’t be any jobs. If there weren’t any jobs…. Wait a minute…if there weren’t any jobs, we wouldn’t be over run by those illegals who just “want to better their lives”, and send their salaries back to Mexico. Hmmm…..
Carry on Mr. Nader!

Iraq not using oil cash to rebuild
Increased Iraqi oil revenues stemming from high prices and improved security are piling up in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York rather than being spent on needed reconstruction projects, a Washington Times study of Iraq’s spending and revenue figures has shown.
U.S. officials and outside analysts blame the collapse of the country’s political and physical infrastructure for Baghdad’s failure to spend the money on projects considered vital to restoring stability in the country.
Ok, so if the only reason we went into Iraq was for the oil, how come we are still paying ridiculous prices for gas? Evidently, they are selling it, just not to us. If they were, wouldn’t we see a serious decline in the price per gallon? Oh yeah….sorry….we actually would need REFINERIES to make that happen. And seriously, why should they use their money to rebuild their country, when they have us….the lowly American taxpayer.
No major injuries, damage reported in West Tennessee after Tuesday night’s storm
No one was injured and no major damage was reported in the West Tennessee area as storms swept through the area Tuesday night, according to law enforcement agencies.
Downed power lines, trees and branches in the street, power outages and minor to moderate damage to some homes, businesses, vehicles and structures were reported.
Well, if I felt frisky, and it was a LOT warmer, I could go out and pick up a bunch of sticks from the deck and around the yard. Otherwise, we came through the mess just find. Clocks all set….again….fridge quietly cooling the milk. All is well.
Romney Hopes to Halt McCain Wave of Momentum
John McCain’s wave of political momentum is building as he comes off a major win in the winner-take-all Florida presidential primary and prepares to receive the endorsement Wednesday of one-time Republican national frontrunner Rudy Giuliani.
Wednesday night, the Arizona Republican will come face-to-face with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in what has been narrowed to basically a two-man race between the two. Romney came in a close second place in Florida’s polls.
Criminy! I hope Romney stops that wave too. Being buried under a tidal wave of liberalism just doesn’t sit well with me.
Feds sue more Cameron County landowners over border fence
The Justice Department has sued more Cameron County property owners who have not volunteered access to their land for a survey of the border.
The federal government sued six more landowners in U.S. District Court in Brownsville on Tuesday, bringing the total to 18 condemnation lawsuits in the county. The Department of Homeland Security is requesting temporary, 180-day access so contractors and survey and prepare for siting the fence.
And here I thought the gubmint just goes in, and does what it wants. Who knew people could refuse them access? Although, I have to admit, putting the fence smack dab in the middle of the downtown isn’t such a great idea. Maybe they could do a little curving here and there?
Court upholds cuts to Gaza electricity
Human rights groups had challenged the sanctions, which are aimed at halting ongoing rocket fire by Gaza terrorists. Palestinian officials say the cutbacks have harmed Gaza’s already impoverished residents by causing power shortages and crippling crucial utilities.
Israel, which pulled out of Gaza in 2005, supplies all of Gaza’s fuel and more than two-thirds of its electricity.
But yet the Palestinians want to destroy the hand that feeds them. Does this confuse anyone else?
Giuliani to exit presidential race
Giuliani “will be announcing his endorsement today,” said King.
“I expect him to be fairly active for McCain. There is a real friendship and respect between the two,” he said. A similar call took place between Giuliani and New York Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno.
What a major crock. A lib endorsing a lib. Big shocker.
The Federal Reserve is likely to follow its bold action last week to battle an economic downturn with further interest rate reductions, although analysts are split on just what size the future cuts will be.
Some believe the Fed will settle into a series of quarter-point moves, especially if upcoming economic reports show the economy is slowing but not toppling into an actual recession.
I can’t explain why, but I have a gut feeling this isn’t such a good idea.

Shucks!
Edwards quitting presidential race
Former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina is dropping out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, two sources inside his campaign said Wednesday.
Edwards has told top advisers about his decision. It is expected he will announce it in a speech at 1 p.m. ET Wednesday in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Edwards has amassed 26 delegates in the race for the Democratic nomination.
New Orleans is the same city in which Edwards declared his run to be the 2008 Democratic presidential nominee.
Dang! Now whose hair are we gonna crack on?

Does My Server Suck?
Why, yes. Yes, it does!
This morning silent E speaks and I were completely offline. Why you ask? Well, no idea, says I.
It also seems that the upgrade of WordPress does not care much for my “Blogs I Frequent” roll. So, now I’m am busily snooping out ones that are compatible, and I gotta tell ya, I am not impressed. Why do people who design these things want to squish them all together? I like wide, and they have narrow. Slapping 3 columns into half a screen doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. But then, I’m old. I have old eyes and old eyes like to be able to discern between the post, and the links on the sides. sigh….
I’m not giving up, but until we can get this resolved, the blogroll is gonna be blank. Sorry ’bout that!
