Florida

I’d like to know why the Shrilldebeast spent so much time campaigning in states that had their delegates taken away from them?

Problems
We drove back from Jackson, after a successful shopping spree, in a major downpour. After a proper nap (I was up at 5:30 y’know), I decided I’d check a few sites, see what was happening in the rest of the world. Not to be. I have mostly been ‘disconnected’ since I woke up. Dang! Lights flickering, going off, coming back on a few minutes later, wind gusting up to 70mph, rain drowning the rats, and it’s not quite over yet. Honestly, I think I heard a few goats flying overhead. Ok, maybe not, but……

Well, That Sucks!
I just got back from the doctor’s. Evidently, I can’t be fixed. Oh well, I kind of like the way I am, although that degenerative crap can go. Plain and simple, I’m not going to get any better, but I might not get any worse, although, the way the doc sounded….
Did you know that Spines ‘R’ Us went out of business? sigh… Just when I needed a new one. Wouldn’t ya know it!

Just a Tad Delusional?
President: World has not witnessed crimes bigger than Zionists’
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in the whole history nobody has witnessed crimes like the ones committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian.
Speaking in a ceremony dubbed as “Appreciating the servants of the martyrs”, the president said, “The Zionist regime in the past 60 years has surrounded people in their houses and has killed kids and adults in the name of fight against terrorism.” All who want to impose themselves by force have reached to their end and human beings will not accept their logic, Ahmadinejad continued.
He concluded, “We must be patient and insist on our principles, so by God’s help this puppet regime will collapse.”
I guess ‘Booboo flunked history. And that ‘imposing by force’ business? Does convert or die ring a bell? Guess I’m gonna be dying.

I Guess It Missed
First Blurry Pictures of Near-Miss Asteroid Released

Astronomers have obtained the first images of an asteroid on course to make its closest approach to Earth on Tuesday, showing the space rock is lopsided.
The new images, taken with the Goldstone Solar System Radar Telescope in California’s Mojave Desert, refine estimates of the asteroid’s size.
Named 2007 TU24, the asteroid was estimated to span up to 2,000 feet (610 meters), but is now thought to have a diameter of about 800 feet (250 meters).
Couldn’t we just call it Gomer or something? I really don’t like those long number/letter names.
Scientists at NASA’s Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., have determined that there is no possibility of an impact with Earth in the foreseeable future.
Other radar telescopes will point toward the asteroid as it makes its closest approach to Earth, 334,000 miles (537,500 kilometers), at 3:33 a.m. Eastern time Jan. 29.
Well, since I’m still here and it’s long past the wee hours, I reckon it just passed right on by. Polite like. ![]()

Morning Coffee 01/29/08 - SOTU Edition
Democrats: Time running out ‘to solve our problems’
“The new Democratic majority of Congress and the vast majority of Americans are ready — ready to chart a new course,” she said, adding that restoring America’s status in the world and improving the fight against terrorism would not have to wait for a new president if “more Republicans in Congress stand with us this year.”
If “more Republicans in Congress” stand with the Dhimmis, I’d wager they won’t be standing there much longer. They’ll be back home, hiding in disgrace!
Rivals Clinton, Obama united against Bush
They may be at their tersest standoff yet, but rival presidential hopefuls Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama were united on one thing last night: Their disdain for President George W. Bush’s State of the Union message.
The common ground ended there. Though they passed near each other as they entered the House of Representatives where Bush spoke, Clinton and Obama did not greet each other. Nor did they speak when they crossed paths earlier in the Senate.
I’m no Obama fan, but I gotta tell ya, even though he is younger than her, HE is the one who has been behaving more like a grown up! And I hope he whups her butt in the primaries.
Challenge on earmarks aimed at ‘08 Democrats
President Bush last night drew a line in the sand on “pork-barrel” spending that puts the presidential field on the spot and creates an election-year fight on an issue that unites Republicans but splits the Democratic presidential candidates.
Mr. Bush”s plan to severely limit earmarks, Washington-speak for pet projects, and to ignore the ones hidden in reports that aren’t even voted on will begin with the 2009 budget process and forces the candidates to say whether they will enforce it.
Sneaking in multi-million dollar pork projects and being called on it, scares the bejabbers out of politicians. GOOD! They need to be scared. Decades of free spending of OUR money on useless crap has got to stop!
Congress unlikely to buy Bush proposals
A Democratic Congress is poised to heed President Bush’s call to help save the economy, but may not give him much else after a State of the Union speech that recycled many of the administration’s past initiatives.
A lame duck president called again for immigration reform, an end to lawmakers’ pet projects, control of Social Security spending and making tax cuts permanent. Democrats have rejected those Bush initiatives before.
Gee, ya think the AP might be a tad BIASED? Evidently, I paid a little closer attention than I thought, or the AP. Yes, he had brought up a few of those topics previously, but Congress doesn’t like the idea of saving taxpayer money, so they automatically reject it. With a POTUS that has misplaced his veto pen on too many occasions to count, they felt they had free reign. Maybe now, IF he sticks to his guns, that pen will get some serious use, and they’ll get the message? We shall see.
Bush: Time has come for peace in Israel
“The time has come for a Holy Land where a democratic Israel and a democratic Palestine live side by side in peace,” he said.
Bush said that despite the efforts of extremists, there was still a great deal of hope in the region. He said that Palestinians had chosen a president who understands the vital need to fight terror and that Israel’s leaders recognized that a Palestinian state would be the foundation of long-lasting security.
Not gonna happen! We can be as hopeful as we want, but there is no way Hamas, and the rest of the little islamonazi groups, are going to allow Israel to have peace. Take a look at their “constitution”. Democracy and fanatical Islam? Pfft. I don’t think so!
George W Bush may be seen by many as a lame-duck president, but he tried hard to sound forceful and underline that he is still relevant.
(…)
“Members of Congress should know: if any bill raising taxes reaches my desk, I will veto it.”He also warned Congress against trying to add anything to the $150bn (£76bn) economy stimulus package, warning that would risk derailing or delaying it.
Now, you KNOW they are going to try to sneak some nonsense or other in there. It’s what they do! Besides, what’s so bad about a derailing a phony stimulus package? If the gubmint would just get out of the way…..
For Democrats, a Gleeful State of the Union
Democrats never seemed so elated about the prospect of a major speech by President Bush. Or of having it finished.
“I think everybody is ready to turn the page,†said Representative Mark Udall, Democratic of Colorado, as he and his colleagues poured out of Mr. Bush’s last State of the Union address.
“Next year we’ll have a different president, which I look forward to,†said Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, Democrat, majority leader and frequent nemesis of the president.
Personally, I’m looking forward to different ‘leadership’ in BOTH houses of Congress. Respectfully, Y’ALL SUCK!
Dems, economy upstage Bush’s speech
“We’re sick and tired of seven years of George Bush,” said Rep. Ellen Tauscher, D-Walnut Creek. “We’re more than sick and tired; we’re scared and frightened for the prospect of working families in this country and our national security and competitiveness.”
Tauscher ridiculed Bush’s address. “Apparently the president is suffering with the rest of Hollywood from the writer’s strike.”
Well, the American people are sick and tired of programs that cost billions and don’t work. We’re sick and tired of the whining. We’re sick and tired of feckless weasels doing their utmost to take control of our lives while living in Ivory Towers. And we’re sick and tired of being invaded from the south, and y’all stick your head up your collective asses and do NOTHING. Frankly lady, we’re sick and tired of YOU! ALL of you!

State of the Union
Ok, I’m watching the POTUS give his speech, covering the earmarks at the moment, and I’m wondering…..
WHERE THE HELL HAS THIS GUY BEEN FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS?????
He could have vetoed any number of bills bloated by earmarks, but he didn’t. So, here we are, with a Congress who thinks our money is THEIRS!
Update: Right Wings News has a fairly accurate play by play. I think. I’m not really sure, since I wasn’t paying a lot attention.

Random Items
It seems I’m having a few technical difficulties. My blog roll, “Blogs I Frequent” seems to have vanished. I can get to it, but only through the dashboard stuff. My apologies to all listed. I did NOT remove anyone.Â
El Chico still sucks! Especially the Tennessee version of El Chico. Ever had quesadillas with a cajun flavor? NOT recommended. Hey, it was Jr’s idea. It was either that, or Taco Hell. Take a guess what my answer to that was!Â
I think we’re both dying now, and not from overeating!
Being stuck in a motel room with a 15 year old jabberer is annoying.Â
I have a doctor’s appointment EXTREMELY early in the morning, and instead of driving over here before the sun even comes up, we decided to come to Jackson (TN) and hit the mall. Do you know it really is possible for two females to NOT be in the mood to shop, at the same time? Not to worry, we manage to spend a few bucks anyway.
The more I think about it, the more I think I should vote for Romney in the primary. Anything to keep McCain from getting the nomination and/or the White House! I’m still not to crazy about that gun ban business though. However, the alternative is unacceptable.

Candidate Questionaires
The American Conservative Union, the ONLY union I’ll ever be a member of, asked the various candidates some questions. None of the Dhimmicrats responded, naturally. The remaining Republicans (.pdf):
Rudy Guiliani (didn’t actually respond, but sent a letter via a staffer)
Fred Thompson (yes, I know he’s dropped out, but I thought ya might want to see what you will be missing)
