Israel Wants Egypt to Solve Gaza Border Crisis
“[Hamas] will not let anyone control the oxygen tube between Egypt and the Gaza Strip,” Erlich told Cybercast News Service. It is the only crossing between the Gaza Strip and any Arab country, and through it, the Palestinians receive commodities as well as weapons and operatives, he said.
Hamas Leader Mahmoud Zahar told al-Jazeera television much the same thing: “Egypt is our gate to the Arab, Islamic and entire world,” Zahar was quoted as saying. “Therefore we will not allow the crossing to be used as a tool to suffocate the Palestinian people again.”
The only ones “suffocating” the Palestinian people, are the Palestinians!
Dozens Killed in Worst Baghdad Attack in Months
Twin bombs struck two markets in central Baghdad on Friday, killing dozens in the worst attack in the Iraqi capital for many months.
One bomb hit the Ghazil pet market, the scene of another deadly bombing in November when 13 people were killed.
The second bomb hit minutes later and barely two miles away at the New Baghdad pet market. Both markets are on the east side of the river, and both are in mainly Shiite areas. But they are popular with both Shiites and Sunnis.
The bombings were carried out by female suicide attackers wearing explosive vests, witnesses said.
These people are never going to learn to get along. Let them destroy themselves, I’m past the point of caring.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says feuding political parties in Kenya must look beyond their individual interests and beyond party lines to end the post-election violence in the country.
Pfft! Nobody cares about the good of nations anymore, it’s all about “ME”. That applies to just about every country I can think of off the top of my head. Since the UN is a major failure, does anyone, anywhere, take them seriously?
Gore preaches gospel of green to Baptists
Hailed as a prophet, he makes eco-converts at Atlanta convention
With a green-colored Bible in one hand and his familiar red laser pointer in the other, former vice president and Nobel prize winner Al Gore led 2,500 Baptist preachers and lay leaders through his global warming slide show in Atlanta Thursday.
Sounding more like an evangelist than a politician, Gore drew upon Scripture, science and a Sunday school teacher from his home church to urge Baptists to do whatever they could to fight global warming.
Mathew 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Baby sitter gets 30 years in prison for killing 3-month-old boy
A 21-year-old man hired to baby-sit three children has been found guilty of killing a 3-month-old boy.
A judge sentenced Steven Joye to 30 years in prison Thursday, not long after a Florence County jury took an hour to find him guilty of homicide by child abuse.
Prosecutors say Joye struck David McDaniel in the head and left him unattended for hours until the boy’s father came home. The infant died two days later.
30 years is not enough.
Japan orders mass recall of Chinese meat products
The government said Friday that at least 175 people in Japan were sickened by insecticide-tainted dumplings from China, prompting supermarkets to pull Chinese-made meat products from their shelves while Tokyo pressed Beijing to improve food safety.
Newspaper headlines warned of a national panic as hundreds more people complained of dizziness and nausea after eating dumplings and other Chinese-made foods. As of Friday, a dozen Japanese food processing companies said they had issued recalls for at least 59 meat products imported from China, from beef jerky to pork chops.
Looks like we aren’t the only ones the Chinese are trying to kill. Stop importing EVERYTHING from them. Maybe they’ll clean up their act?
Clinton, Obama gently debate Iraq in Hollywood
The Iraq war reemerged Thursday as a dividing line between the two major Democrats remaining in the presidential contest, as Barack Obama used a Los Angeles debate to argue he has the judgment to lead the nation out of war and Hillary Rodham Clinton asserted that she has the gravitas to do the same.
The debate, sponsored by The Times, CNN and Politico and held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, was the first one-on-one meeting between Clinton and Obama. It was also the last before Democrats in 22 states, including California, vote Tuesday.
Sucking up to the Hollyweird types, eh? Since those folks don’t really live in the REAL world, why pander? Oh yeah…cuz they’ve got money.
Blind golfer scores hole-in-one in Fla.
A hole-in-one is rare on the golf course, but what are the odds of a blind golfer sinking one?
Leo Fiyalko couldn’t see it, but his golf buddies did – a hole-in-one on the fifth hole at the Cove Cay Country Club.
Fiyalko is 92 and has macular degeneration. He’s been golfing for 60 years, but his 110-yard shot with a five iron on Jan. 10 was his first hole-in-one.
“I was just trying to put the ball on the green,” Fiyalko said.
Shoot, I’m impressed he hit that far with a five! Heh. Yes, I’m really BAD at that game. Congrats to Mr. Leo!

You missed the worst part about the suicide bombers in Baghad. They didn’t suicide, they were murdered. The bombers took 2 mentally disabled women, strapped bombs on them, sent to the marketplace, then remotely detonated the vests. This is beyond sick. Those women were just as innocent as the others killed in the bombing.
I think they’re going to have to start searching women.
