Romney predicts conservatives will stop McCain

Mitt Romney predicted Sunday his party’s conservative base will rally behind him on Super Tuesday in order to prevent John McCain from winning the Republican nomination.

“What I have to do is continue to see what’s been happening the last few days, specifically that is conservatives across the country are saying, ‘whoa, we have to get behind Mitt Romney,’” he said on CNN’s Late Edition.

“You’ve got people like Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham and the list goes on and on and on — Hugh Hewitt, Lars Larson — conservative voices, both from radio and from publications, are saying, ‘you know what, we’ve got to get behind Mitt Romney,’” he continued. “We really can’t afford John McCain as the nominee of our party.”

I don’t hate John McCain. Shoot, I don’t hate Clinton or Obama either (not fond of them, but don’t actually hate ‘em). But I do not want any of them sitting in the Oval Office.

If conservatives are really serious, they’ve got to take a good hard look at what is being offered, and make a decision. I had to make one. My candidate was Fred Thompson, because I saw him as the more conservative of the bunch, but as you know, he’s not exactly an option anymore.

Contrary to what Mike Huckabee would like to believe, he really isn’t in this race anymore. Ron Paul has a snow ball’s chance…. That leaves us with Mitt Romney.

Is Governor Romney as conservative as I, personally, would like him to be? Well, no. But then, no one is anymore, as far as I’m concerned. Given the alternatives….I’m going to have to with Romney.

The lesser of 2 evils is still evil

I will write in Ron Paul with a clear conscious just as I will keep fighting for him as a delegate in NV. And I will shake my head at those who thought that voting on electability at the cost of integrity is the answer

America will go down either way if the front running socialist on the left or the front running socialist on the right is elected and not the man who runs on the platform of the Constitution

Cawdor, while Paul has some good ideas, he’s a moonbat. In this overly global world, Paul’s isolationism will not work. Oh, and btw, it is NOT our fault we were attacked. It is NOT our fault the Islamofascists hate us.

I hope Romney can win the nod, if not I might right in or vote INDY.
Cawdor, let Ron Paul that an Indy run might be possible if the Republicans send McCain….I’ll vote for Ron Paul before I’d vote for Obama, McCain, or Clinton.

And I can’t stand Ron Paul. I hate his whining, his self loathing, his blame game and his constitutionalist agenda. I like that he can quote it, but it is a guide and we have moved too far away from it’s intent on some issues, but his isolationist, bury our head in the sand and hope things work out has been tried before… it got us WW2.

Kate, It is our fault jihadi’s hate us, we don’t pray 5 times daily to the east, we don’t hang rape victims being raped, and we don’t mind telling them they are FUBAR for doing stuff like that.

“In this overly global world, Paul’s isolationism will not work.”

We are isolationists now .. we bully and extort becuase we do not trade or talk to people we don;t like which are more and more countries every year.

Ron Paul would stop this path to the true isolationism we are on now and allow ourselves to not be bogged down in fights that are not our own.

“Oh, and btw, it is NOT our fault we were attacked. It is NOT our fault the Islamofascists hate us.”

If a country toppled our elected leader and then gave chemical weapons to a neighbor that tried to invade us, I would go after them as well.

Oh wait .. our founding fathers did (minus the chemical weapon).

For every cause there is an effect.

It doesn’t matter .. if we don;t stop our empire now it will be stopped for us when the economy collapses. There is no other path, just the degrees of severity we choose to pick
