I Wouldn’t Swear To It…….
……but I think the local constables have a check point going on down the road a hair. I kept seeing these flashing blue lights, and couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. We’re not exactly right on the road, y’know. So, being the snoopy person that I am, I just had to take a peek. I go out on the back deck, and can see a couple of police cars through the trees. I can’t see any evidence of a wreck, so I must investigate further! I walked out to the edge of the property, which is up the hill from those purdy blue lights. I see….4 cops, standing smack dad in the middle of the 2 lane state highway, with orange cones and all. They really are stopping cars, and trucks, and great big ol’ semis!
Now, when you are doing 55 mph coming around the curve, it’s gotta be quite a shock to see all those flashing lights and people standing in the middle of the road. Seeing semis slam on their breaks is a rather heart stopping experience.
Wonder what’s going on that they’d feel the need for a check point out here in the boonies? Hmmm….
Update: The word at church, the cops were doing a license check. 
 Seriously, isn’t that a rather odd place to stop folks to see if they have a license, plus a tag on the back end? Really odd.
Looking for illegal peacock poachers, most likely.
