Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile — the list goes on and on.
I think we should start a movement to get the Boracle to return not only his Oscar, but his share of the Nobel Peace Prize!
Since actual science proves that he is nothing more than a con-man and odds are he’s bilked many out of their hard earned bucks, maybe he should see the world from a different perspective for a while?
CANTON, Ohio â€” A jury has recommended that an former Canton, Ohio, police officer serve life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend and their unborn fetus.
It was an unborn BABY!Â A child!Â A child that will never be able to grow up!Â She was a beautiful young woman who will never see her child graduate from high school, college, get married, have children.
He was a police officer, sworn to uphold the law, to protect.Â He’s a murderous piece of shit who does not deserve the mercy shown him by the jury.

Author and conservative commentator William F. Buckley Jr. has died at age 82.
His assistant Linda Bridges says Buckley died Wednesday morning at his home in Stamford, Conn.
Buckley became famous for his intellectual political writings in his magazine, the National Review.
Protesters scaled the roof of Britain’s parliament in a major security breach on Wednesday and threatened further direct action against government plans to expand London’s Heathrow airport.
Environmental protesters from the “Plane Stupid” group scaled the Houses of Parliament to mark the end of a public consultation period on a third runway and sixth terminal at what is already the world’s busiest international airport.
First, how did they get past what would normally be fairly tight security? Second, Heathrow only has two runways?
Iran’s launch of a rocket in early February provoked unease in an international community already suspicious over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program, since the technology involved can also be used to deliver warheads.
“Iranian space engineers built the research rocket in nine months,” said Ahmadinejad, according to the IRNA, the state news agency. “The rocket was not a reproduction of a foreign one.”

The 6-3 vote was along party lines and came amid open partisan sniping. Opponents of the bill claimed victory.

Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs has pleaded not guilty to sex charges stemming from arranged marriages between teen girls and older men.
Jeffs made his first court appearance Wednesday in Arizona. He was convicted in Utah last year of rape as an accomplice for his role in the arranged marriage of a 14-year-old girl and her cousin.
He should have saved everyone time and money, including himself, and just pleaded guilty. Seems to me they have way too much evidence. But hey, that’s just me.
A student at Sapir College in Sderot was killed and one other person wounded by shrapnel after a Kassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip hit a parking lot on the western Negev campus.
At least five other people were reported in shock. Army Radio reported that everyone present on the college campus was being shepherded into sheltered areas. Classes were cancelled for the rest of the day, and college officials planned to meet Wednesday evening to decide whether studies would continue as usual for the rest of the week.
If the palestinians want peace, they might consider not firing rockets into schools, or anywhere else, for that matter.
Gov. Phil Bredesen has met with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Washington to express concern about proposed Medicaid rule changes that could cost Tennessee up to $400 million a year in federal money for TennCare.
I’ll grant you, I don’t know a lot about TennCare, but I do know that they are extremely inefficient, the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, and they seem inclined NOT to communicate with each other. If they weren’t such a bloated bureaucracy, perhaps there would be no need to cut funding for care, just cut out the people who haven’t a clue how to work a fax machine!
The leaders of a congressional hearing on drugs in sports said Wednesday they will not take a partisan tone during the broadly-focused hearing looking at the future of drugs in sports.
“This is not going to be political theatre,” said chairman Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., before the hearing in front of the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection. “There won’t be any histrionics.”

A Madison County woman who was charged with shooting her husband in the back of the head last May will spend the next five years on probation, according to court officials.
Wanda Sue Ross, who was 58 at the time of the charge, pleaded guilty Monday to the aggravated assault of her husband, Dennis W. Ross, who was 61 when he was shot.
I’m getting the impression that it’s just peachy for women to shoot their husbands in Tennessee. I find this rather odd.
A huge survey of the world’s Muslims has challenged Western notions that equate Islam with radicalism and violence.
The survey, conducted by the Gallup polling agency over six years and three continents, seeks to dispel the belief held by some in the West that Islam itself is the driving force of radicalism.
It shows that the overwhelming majority of Muslims condemned the attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001 and other subsequent terrorist attacks, the authors of the study said in Washington.
Really? A few quiet words, here and there, doesn’t show me any condemnation. Where were the Muslims when we went into Afghanistan? How many Muslim countries sent troops to fight the radical types?
“The argument Mr Harris makes is that religion in the primary driver” of radicalism and violence, she said.
“Religion is an important part of life for the overwhelming majority of Muslims, and if it were indeed the driver for radicalisation, this would be a serious issue.”
I suppose the murder of innocent CHRISTIAN children by Muslims in Indonesia has nothing to do with that “primary driver” religion?
But the study, which Gallup says surveyed a sample equivalent to 90 percent of the world’s Muslims, showed that widespread religiosity “does not translate into widespread support for terrorism,” said Mogadeh, director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies.
The threat of “you do it our way, or you die, your children die”, etc., has nothing to do with it either, right?
The survey shows radicals to be neither more religious than their moderate counterparts, nor products of abject poverty or refugee camps.
“The radicals are better educated, have better jobs, and are more hopeful with regard to the future than mainstream Muslims,” John Esposito, who co-authored “Who Speaks for Islam”, said. “Ironically, they believe in democracy even more than many of the mainstream moderates do, but they’re more cynical about whether they’ll ever get it,” said Esposito, a professor of Islamic studies at Georgetown University in Washington.
That makes no sense at all. Of course they are never going to have any form of democracy if they keep slaughtering their own people for not being Muslim enough, or if a girl wants to learn to read and write, or if a boy listens to music.
“They hate… a democratically elected government,” Bush offered as a reason. “They hate our freedoms — our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to vote and assemble and disagree with each other.”
But the poll, which gives ordinary Muslims a voice in the global debate that they have been drawn into by 9/11, showed that most Muslims — including radicals — admire the West for its democracy, freedoms and technological prowess.
Uh…yeah….right. Which is why they cheer when we get a black eye?
What they do not want is to have Western ways forced on them, it said. “Muslims want self-determination, but not an American-imposed and -defined democracy. They don’t want secularism or theocracy. What the majority wants is democracy with religious values,” said Esposito.
From what I’ve read of the Qu’ran, democracy and Islam do not go together. I wonder how many women were involved in this poll. Or is it just the men who want their form of democracy, leaving women out of the process completely?
I honestly have no problem with a democracy based on a Holy Book. Contrary to what the libs would like to believe, this nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Ideas like “if it feels good, do it” has brought this nation to a pretty low point.
If the majority of Muslims truly do want some form of democracy, they should start by cleaning up their own “house”….their houses of worship.
