Chavez Orders Tanks to Colombia Border, Raises Risks
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s orders to close his Bogota embassy and send tanks to the border raise tensions beyond his previous rhetoric and to the point where miscalculation could trigger a military clash.
Chavez, who ordered 10 armored battalions to the border yesterday, said Colombia’s air strike March 1 on a rebel camp in Ecuadorean territory risks a regional war. He pledged to support Ecuador under any circumstances. The raid killed Raul Reyes, reputed to be second in command of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
This is between Columbia and Ecuador. The little egotistical dictator once again proves his inability to cope with the real world, where drug cartels and terrorist make life impossible for real people.
Ahmadinejad takes swipe at Bush
He rejected long-standing U.S. accusations, repeated by President George W. Bush on Saturday, that Iran is arming Shi’ite militias in Iraq who kill American soldiers.
“We tell Mr. Bush that accusing others will increase the problems of America in the region and will not solve them,” Ahmadinejad said in translated remarks at a news conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
“The Americans have to understand the facts of the region. Iraqi people do not like America.”
Yet, it was Americans who got rid of Saddam Hussein so that tin pot sleaze ball could visit Iraq. As far as Iraqis not liking us…..I don’t give a happy crap. We pull out, al Qaeda takes over, we’ll hear that we deserted them, and it’ll be Pol Pot all over again.
Severe storms may strike today
Strong thunderstorms and the possibility of severe weather are expected in Middle Tennessee today, according to National Weather Service forecasters and online meteorologists.
An intense line of thunderstorms will blow eastward from Texas toward Arkansas and Louisiana this afternoon, bringing with it damaging winds and possible tornadoes, Accuweather.com meteorologist Henry Margusity said in his blog on Sunday.
Honestly, I really hope this is just the media types over reacting, like they usually do. Enough with the nasty weather!
U.N. torture investigator questions secret U.S. prison
The U.N. torture investigator said Sunday he has received “credible” allegations that the U.S. detained terror suspects on the British island Diego Garcia — claims that contradict statements by the British and U.S. governments.
Multiple people, including detainees, told Manfred Nowak “quite a long time ago” that terror suspects were sent to the remote Indian Ocean outpost, a British territory with a U.S. military base.
China. Iran. Russia. Venezuela. Cuba. The list goes one. Yet, the U.S. always seems to be the target of the Useless Numnut’s probes. Yep, we’re getting “probed” alright.
U.S. Forces Strike Al Qaeda Training Camp in Somalia
There was no immediate word on casualties, but the residents and police told the Associated Press that a home was destroyed and eight people, including four children, were injured.
The missiles that struck Dobley, some four miles from the Kenyan border, were from military aircraft, but it was not clear from which country they originated, witnesses said. Remnants of an Islamic force that had once ruled much of southern Somalia took over Dobley last week.
I’ve heard that innocence is the first casualty of war. With these bad guys, it’s the innocent who are the casualties.
Nato fears over Dutch Islam film
The Dutch government has warned Mr Wilders that the film will damage Dutch political and economic interests.
Mr Wilders says the film is about the Koran but has given few details.
In the past, he has called for the Koran to be banned and likened it to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
The project has already been condemned by several Muslim countries, including Iran and Pakistan.
Well, there ya go! If Iran and Pakistan, known for their religious tolerance, condemn the film without ever having seen it, it MUST be banned. (insert massive sarcasm here!)
Miss. Senate passes five bills to curb illegal immigration
“One of the bills is to make sure that people who are here who are not United States citizens [and] who apply for social benefits are eligible for these benefits,” he explains. “And another also strengthens the identity and document fraud and things like that.”
But Hunt is concerned the bills may have difficulty in the House. “The bills that have been passed by the Senate are likely to go to committees that are chaired by people who have not shared the philosophy that illegal immigration is a bad thing,” he notes. In fact, says Hunt, one of committee chairmen stated he was not going to “waste his time” trying to look for people who wanted to work. “That’s the problem we face in the House,” says the MFIRE leader.
“Problem” is an understatement! The MS House is almost as useless as the U.S. House, especially when it comes to illegals!
Obama Endorsed by Def Jam’s Russell Simmons
“Obama’s leadership, passion and demand for a change resonates effectively with the aspirations of millions of people who want a better quality of life,†Simmons said in a statement, according to the New York Times.
Oh, well hey….that clinches it for me! Pfft! Can Russell name ONE THING B. Hussein has done?
Clinton Eyes a Knockout in Primaries
Speaking along with 17 other former generals, admirals, and senior defense officials on a conference call arranged by Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, Mr. Clark said her seven years of Senate experience and her travels to 80 countries as first lady give her a leg up on the competition. “I think she’s the most experienced and capable person in the race, not only for representing America abroad, but for dealing with the tough issues of national security,” he said.

One of our guys over on Highbrid Nation did a post on Russell Simmons backing Barack Obama. Lol, he didn’t have very kind things to say about it. I’d have to agree with him too. Russell is one of the founding fathers of hip hop but he’s not really relevant to the crowd he tries to speak on behalf of.
