U.S. Planes Attack Militia Strongholds in Basra Fighting
Two American war planes shelled two separate targets in Basra, entering the battle at the request of the Iraqi Army, which asked the American and British forces to strike two militia targets in the city, according to Maj. Tom Holloway, a spokesman for the British Army in Basra.
I thought the Brits pulled out?
Hamas asks Arab summit to back armed struggle against Israel
Gaza’s Hamas rulers are asking the Arab states to cut ties with Israel, and support Hamas’s armed campaign against it instead.
About 2,000 people were attending a Hamas-organized rally in Gaza, as Arab leaders convened in Damascus ahead of the annual Arab summit.
Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya said Israel would only respond to violence. “The Zionist enemy doesn’t have a vision of peace. Only force… fighting and holy war works with [Israel].”
Now, tell me again how many homicide bombers Israel has sent into Gaza? How many bombs have they lobbed into their neighborhoods?

The haunting last picture of Sophie Lancaster who was beaten to death for being a Goth
The shocking images of Sophie’s final moments were released as two teenagers were convicted of her murder.
Binge-drinking Brendan Harris, 15, and Ryan Herbert, 16, had drunk at least four pints of strong cider and downed shots of schnapps when they stamped on the head of the gap year student in a park in a quiet Lancashire town.
Yesterday it emerged that they had been found guilty of affray over a similar attack on a 16-year-old boy close to the same park four months earlier, but instead of being locked up were freed with a six-month community service order.
I don’t understand the negativity of the goth types, but I sure as hell don’t understand the type of person who would beat another human being to death because they are different. I hope those two excrement rot in prison, and burn in hell! Along with the feckless weasel who thought community service was a proper punishment for the previous attack!
Two rescued from Lake Ray Hubbard after boat capsizes
Two people were rescued from Lake Ray Hubbard after their bass fishing boat capsized Friday morning.
Robert Lafaye, a spokesman for Rowlett Fire and Rescue said one person was transported to Rockwall Presbyterian Hospital and the second person was treated at the scene and released.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known, Mr. Lafaye said.
Fred, you weren’t out fishing this morning, were you?
Former state Sen. John Ford’s prison sentence will be served much closer to his Memphis home after the intervention of U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen.
Cohen told The Commercial Appeal on Thursday that his office’s request to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to change Ford’s incarceration from a minimum-security federal-prison camp in Texas to a similar facility in central Louisiana was granted.
Excuse, but why should this weasel get special treatment? He’s a CRIMINAL! Just like any other CRIMINAL!
Income grows as consumers do little spending in Feb.
Consumers, jolted by a credit crisis, job cuts and soaring energy costs, turned in the weakest spending performance in 17 months in February, and consumers’ confidence weakened to the lowest in 16 years in March, fresh evidence that the risks of a recession are increasing.
The Commerce Department said Friday that consumer spending edged up 0.1% last month, the poorest showing since September 2006. And if the effects of inflation are removed, spending was flat in February, the third consecutive month of sluggish activity.
Shoot! Even I don’t spend as much in February as I do in other months. It’s cold, burnout from Christmas spending, lots of reasons.
The pastor at Clinton’s former church calls Jeremiah Wright an ‘outstanding leader’
Pastor of Foundry United Methodist Church, Snyder calls Jeremiah Wright “an outstanding church leader” who “has served for decades as a profound voice for inclusion in our society” and “has been a vocal critic of the racism, sexism, and homophobia which still tarnish the American dream.” He also deems Wright an “agent of racial reconciliation” who proclaims truths that make some white people uncomfortable. In comments posted on the website Democrats.org as well as his own church’s website, Snyder contends white Americans should listen to Wright rather than use his words to “polarize” and exclude people.
Jiminiy Crickets! Just what kind of ‘churches’ do the Dhimmis attend?? Wright’s words go beyond “excluding”! They were racist!
Shootout on Hyacinth leaves one dead
Police are investigating a shootout at a home in the 3700 block of Hyacinth in Hickory Hill that left one man dead and another injured.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m., police said, and early reports indicated it involved a resident of the home and an intruder. The resident was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis in noncritical condition.
Police were releasing no further details this morning.
So, this makes the murder rate in Memphis….what now?
Howard Dean Calls for Superdelegate Decision by July 1
Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, hoping to avoid a divisive fight on the convention floor, weighed in on the Clinton-Obama battle Friday by calling on all party superdelegates to declare whom they support by July 1.
Oh no! Please, by all means, continue! This has been way too much fun to watch for it to end.

Rest in Peace Little One
Cancer-Stricken Girl Whose Last Wish Was to See Inmate Dad Has Died
The 10-year-old terminally ill daughter of a prison inmate who fought in the courts to be allowed to see her one last time has died of brain cancer, FOX News has learned.
Jayci Yaeger lived long enough to see her father, Jason Yaeger, earlier this week.
Jason Yaeger is serving a four-year sentence in a federal prison in Yankton, S.D., on drug charges and is scheduled to be released next year.
But he appealed to prison authorities and the courts — and even asked President Bush for clemency — to be transferred to halfway house closer to Nebraska in order to spend time with his daughter, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
On Wednesday, he was escorted by guards to the Lincoln hospice where Jayci lay in a hospital bed.

I HATE Those Freakin’ Birds!
After several months of relative peace, and no sign of the evil fowl, this morning, they made their appearance!

Yes, they are back. Only four of them though. Gee, I wonder what happened to the other two? Heh heh heh

Mental image: Short, fat ol’ woman running after evil birds in jammies. Blech!
I managed to get them into the woods, and they looked like they were headed home. Nope! No such luck! Then along comes our neighbor’s dog, Ugly. I love that dog!
He got one treed, and the others took off in short order. I reckon he remembers how tasty their brothers were last Dec.

Making a Switch Soon
If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll have noticed that the page loads have slowed down to the point of being absurd. Silent E has been trying to get the problem resolved (he’s on the same host, slot, whatever ya call it), but has gotten no relief from the geniuses at StartLogic. The following is a conversation he had with one of their very helpful tech support folks (insert MASSIVE SARCASM):
Chat InformationWelcome to StartLogic! You are number 1 in the queue. Please be prepared to answer your Security Question when we begin chatting. To enhance our security protocols, we’ll need you to provide the answer to your Security Question at the beginning of our conversation. If you have not yet set your Security Question and Answer, please log into your account now to set it up. Thank you. Please hold for the next available operator to respond.
Chat InformationYou are now chatting with ‘Sandy Ray’Sandy Ray: Hi Eric. My name is Sandy Ray, how are you today?
Eric: OK….. You?
Sandy Ray: I’m great, thank you. How can I help you today?
Eric: 3 site that we have on your server utilize Wordpress and 3 sites are html. The wordpress sites are horribly slow. We’ve had them optomized but still slow. Could you be having problems with a php server??
Sandy Ray: To protect your account from unauthorized changes, can you please verify for me the answer to the Security Question:
Sandy Ray: What is your mother’s maiden name?
Eric: All aspects of the sites are slow.. Page loads and admin.
Eric: ***********Sandy Ray: Thank you for the authentication.
Sandy Ray: We have not experiencing the slowness with the PHP servers.
Eric: Any suggestions? It’s taking 5 mins to load admin then they same when navigating admin..
Sandy Ray: Please contact the ISP.
Eric: it’s not the ISP.. The sites are accessed through multiple ISP’s depending on the time of day and the site. It’s always the same.
Eric: We know at least a dozen others using the same wordpress software on different webhosts and they are not having any issuesSandy Ray: Can you please provide me the exact URL where you are getting the error?
Eric: one is http://silentespeaks.com
Sandy Ray: It may be a temporary issue and will be resolved.
Eric: The other sites are http://olbroad.com and http://waleswisconsin.org
Eric: BTW we have been having multiple problems since the new vdeck platform was implemented…
Sandy Ray: It may be a temporary issue and will be resolved.
Eric: OK…… do we know what the problem is and the ETR?
Sandy Ray: There is no exact time and it will corrected itself.
Eric: This has been going on for a number of weeks now. If there was a problem that is self correcting, how come it didn’t correct itself then???? I really need to know if there is a known problem or if I need to find another webhost. We have not been satisfied since the platform change
Sandy Ray: It may be a temporary issue and will be resolved.
Eric: Do you know what the issue is??
Sandy Ray: No
Eric: Do you have a ticket number I can reference?
Sandy Ray: No.
Sandy Ray: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?Eric: How am I suppose to track the progress of what is being done if I need to contact Startlogic again?
Sandy Ray: You can contact the chat support.
Sandy Ray: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?Eric: And reference what?? Surely you must assign unresolved issues a trouble ticket number.
Sandy Ray: Okay.
Sandy Ray: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?Eric: No… I will escalate this with management later today
Sandy Ray: Could you please let us know if you have contacted us earlier via e-mail with regards to the same issue?
Eric: I have but I never received a response
Sandy Ray: Thank you for chatting with us. Please feel free to contact us at any time. We are available 24×7.
Sandy Ray: Bye!
Yup….a veritable genius! Thanks to the type of “help” that Sandy Ray offered, we will be moving to a new host. Not sure when this will happen, but hopefully, in the not too distant future!

Man Claims to Speak ‘Australian’ After Allegedly Being Raped by Wombat
A New Zealand man has been sentenced to community service after telling police he was raped by a wombat and the experience had made him speak “Australian”.
Arthur Ross Cradock, 48, from the South Island town of Motueka, called police on February 11 and told them he was being raped at his home by the wombat and he needed help, The Nelson Mail newspaper reported.
The orchard worker later called back and said: “Apart from speaking Australian now, I’m pretty all right, you know.”
Cradock pleaded guilty in the local court to using a phone for a fictitious purpose. He was sentenced to 75 hours’ community work.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Stringer told the court alcohol played a large role in Cradock’s life.
Alcohol was involved? Gee, ya think?

Dutch lawmaker releases anti-Koran film
Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders released a film critical of Islam on Thursday, setting verses of the Koran against a background of images from terrorist attacks.
The 15-minute film was posted on a Web site. Shortly afterward Dutch television channels rebroadcast segments of it.
The Dutch government had warned Wilders the film could spark violent protests in Islamic countries, like those two years ago after the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
“The film equates Islam with violence. We reject this,” Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende said in a televised reaction.
“We…regret that Mr. Wilders has released this film. We believe it serves no other purpose than to cause offense.”
Initially, Dutch television refused to broadcast it and Wilders had difficulty finding an Internet platform.
Ok, where is it? I’ve done a search, and have had no luck. Is anyone knows where this video might be hiding, let me know! I have NO problem posting it! Preferably with English dubbing or whatever.Â
Ya see, I’m a big girl, and I’m actually able to make up my own mind.
