Clinton Portrays Herself as a Pro-Gun Churchgoer
“I disagree with Senator Obama’s assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about immigration or trade simply out of frustration,” she said.
She described herself as a pro-gun churchgoer, recalling that her father taught her how to shoot a gun when she was a young girl and said that her faith “is the faith of my parents and my grandparents.”
Given her proclivity to lies, are we sure she even knows which is the business end of a gun?
“I’m not surprised by this,” says Chris Cox, the chief lobbyist of the NRA. “They know that its bad politics to be on the wrong side of the gun issue. The political graveyard is full of gun control supporters and they are trying to avoid the same fate.”
Will Clinton be able to sell this new self to gun rights enthusiasts and hunters?
“Her name is synonymous with gun control, like Rosie O’Donnell,” says Cox, so she will have “a very, very tough time.”
