An Update
According to the New York Sun, that lunatic from Yale was yanking the public’s leg. I don’t find it terribly amusing, and honestly, if I had anything to do with it, she would be expelled!

The Con Artist
Like every good con artist, Obama knows that the trick to winning your mark’s confidence is to convince them that you identify with them. Except in this case “The Mark” are the American people or enough of them to get him through the goalposts of the Democratic National Convention and the general election beyond, as BHO tries his own ‘Test to Destruction’ of Abraham Lincoln’s truism, “You can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”
For now Barry Hussein has managed to successfully fool some of the people some of the time, namely Democratic Party voters. And he did it in true con artist fashion by trying to pass himself off as everything to everyone. To young liberals, he was supposed to be a radically progressive visionary. To old line Democrats, he was supposed to be the second coming of JFK. To rich party elites, he was one of them, a wealthy Harvard and Columbia grad from an academic family. To the working class of Pennsylvania, he tried to reinvent himself as an ordinary bowling cheeseburger eating son of a working class family.
And that’s where he screwed up, because you can only double date so many demographics before one of them finds out what you’ve been saying about the other one behind its back. And that’s what happened when Obama cracked wise to his rich liberal hosts about those backwoods people with their bitterness, religion, guns and hatred of immigrants. Obama was doing what Obama does best, reinventing himself in the style of a celebrity for every new demographic but while he was busy bonding with his new friends over their mutual distaste for working class people, he wasn’t counting on having those same snide remarks go public and live.

Yale Student Induces Abortion for ‘Art’
A senior art major at Yale will display blood samples from her multiple abortions brought on after artificially inseminating herself in an upcoming art show sponsored by the university.
An article by the Yale Daily News about her work begins, “Aliza Shvarts ’08 wants to make a statement.”
According to the piece, “The display of Schvarts’ project will feature a large cube suspended from the ceiling of a room in the gallery of Green Hall. Schvarts will wrap hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting around this cube; lined between layers of the sheeting will be the blood from Schvarts’ self-induced miscarriages mixed with Vaseline in order to prevent the blood from drying and to extend the blood throughout the plastic sheeting. Schvarts will then project recorded videos onto the four sides of the cube. These videos, captured on a VHS camcorder, will show her experiencing miscarriages in her bathrooom tub, she said. Similar videos will be projected onto the walls of the room.”
Townhall was alerted to the project through a press release issued by Students for Life of America.
“Why did the school officials and advisors not intervene with Shvarts’ project?” Kristan Hawkins, SFLA Executive Director asked. “By letting Shvarts complete her ‘art’ project, Yale allowed Shvarts to put herself in serious medical risk. The student even remarked in the article that she did not see the need in consulting a physician prior to self-abortions because everything she used was legal.”
SFLA is calling on Planned Parenthood, NARAL and NOW to condemn the project.
“Abortion should never be trivialized as a matter of ‘art’,” Hawkins said.
I can’t even think of an appropriate response that doesn’t include a barrage of four lettered words.

Boxer Objects to “Human Life”?
Democrats Block Resolution to Commend Pope
Update: Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer (D.-Calif.) was the one who objected to the religious language. Brownback agreed to drop ‘human life’ from the resolution to appease pro-choice Democrats. Consequently, the Senate adopted the resolution Wednesday afternoon.
A reliable GOP aide informs Townhall that Senate Democrats are blocking a measure to commend Pope Benedict XVI because of “controversial” religious language used in the text of the resolution.
(…)
“Whereas Pope Benedict XVI has spoken approvingly of the vibrance of religious faith in the United States, a faith nourished by a constitutional commitment to religious liberty that neither attempts to strip our public spaces of religious expression nor denies the ultimate source of our rights and liberties”
“Whereas Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out for the weak and vulnerable, witnessing to the value of each and every human life;”
Perhaps Senator Boxer really is an alien life form, and doesn’t like the idea of being left out!
Five letters…. guess!

Obama Compares Pro-Life Republican With Domestic Terrorist
Sen. Barack Obama has compared a conservative U.S. senator with a former member of a 1960s-era radical group that bombed the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol and other buildings.
At the Democratic debate in Philadelphia Wednesday night, Obama (D-Ill.) was forced to defend his friendship with former Weather Underground member William Ayers, who never apologized for a series of bomb attacks in the early 1970s. In fact, on September 11, 2001, The New York Times quoted Ayers as saying, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.”
Obama said he knows Ayers as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood” and who works as a professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
“And the notion that somehow, as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make much sense,” Obama said.
“The fact is that I’m also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions. Do I need to apologize for Mr. Coburn’s statements? Because I certainly don’t agree with those, either,” Obama said.
Sen. Coburn, an Oklahoma Republican, is a practicing physician who says he has dedicated much of his life to protecting the sanctity of life.
Uh….comparing someone who saves lives, believes in life, and works to protect life with someone who bombs and murders people, and wishes he could have done more bombing to murder? I don’t f’ing thing so! What a piece of trash!
And then there’s this:
“We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.
Listen to the interview here. (Pig also calls Cahtah a “noble man”? Pfft!)
That’s pretty much of an endorsement from a murderous bunch of thugs.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Barack Hussein Obama can NOT and MUST NOT get any where near that Oval Office!
A Quiz
Wanna see how aware you are of what’s been happening in the news? Go here and take the quiz. Now, all you libs out there, don’t balk cuz it’s Bill O’Reilly’s site. The average is 5.63, and I got 8 out of 10 right. Don’t ya wanna see if you can do better?

No Honor, No Shame

Former President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, lay a wreath of flowers Tuesday at the grave of Yasser Arafat in the West Bank town of Ramallah.
Our worst ex-president honors the memory of Yasser Arafat while hugging Hamas-cidal terrorists. Instead of embracing terrorists, Jimmy Carter should be laying wreaths at the tombs of their victims.
Carter’s world terror tour continued this week with the laying of a red-rose wreath at the West Bank grave site of Arafat, founder of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the man who’s been called the “godfather of terrorism.”
Palestinian officials who were present quoted Carter as saying Arafat was a “peace fighter and a clear friend of mine.”
Arafat may have been Carter’s friend, but so have some of the world’s worst tyrants, including former Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev, Cuba’s Fidel Castro, North Korea’s Kim Il Sung and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez. Arafat was a fighter, but not for peace.

Dem Debate: Who Won?
After watching this video, I’d have to agree with Jay, McCain might have been the winner.
Clinton revisits Wright’s role
Sen. Barack Obama was treated like the Democratic front-runner for the first time in a debate last night — fielding hard questions about his ties to a 1970s domestic terrorist, his racially divisive church and his electability.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton charged her rival has failed to fully explain his longtime ties to the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., calling it deplorable that Mr. Obama didn’t leave the church after his pastor made disparaging remarks about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Now, I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch the debate. I actually had better things to do than listen to politicians spout their same tired rhetoric. Judging from what I’ve read, and heard, B. still won’t give a believable explanation for his relationships with both Wright, and Ayers.
Mr. Obama, of Illinois, said the snippets of Mr. Wright’s sermons widely viewed on YouTube.com do not represent the totality of the good works performed by the pastor and his church.
I’m fairly sure Hamas does a few good things for the common folks too, but that doesn’t mean they should be hailed as humanitarian, should it? Wright’s association with a major racist like Farrakhan, and his blaming of the U.S. for 9/11 would definitely raise my eyebrows while sitting in the pews. I, as a Christian, could no longer have anything to do with such a person, or a church ‘pastored’ by him.
Both Democrat candidates profess to be Christian, yet nothing in their actions or policies are Christ like.

Assad: Syria is preparing for war
Speaking to a group of Arab intellectuals, the Syrian president added that whilst war was not a preferable option, “if Israel declares war on Lebanon and Syria or if America declares war on Iran,” Damascus will be prepared.
“We must keep American interest in mind,” continued Assad. “In the last Lebanon war it was evident that Israel wanted to pull out at a specific time, however the American government forced them to continue.”
He added that “we know there is someone in the American government who is interested in this war, and we are preparing for it.”
“Someone”? Who? Anybody in their right mind wouldn’t even consider it right now. Don’t we have enough problems? Why on earth would anyone in the U.S. be pushing Israel to go to war with ANYONE!?
New abuse detailed at slaughterhouse
When an animal with untrimmed horns got stuck in a chute at a California cattle slaughterhouse, employees electrically prodded it repeatedly to get it to move, according to a congressional report on a case that led to the largest beef recall in U.S. history.
An undercover video by the Humane Society of the United States earlier this year already captured workers at Chino-based Westland/Hallmark Meat Co. dragging crippled cattle with chains, shocking them with electric prods and shooting streams of water in their faces.
I like a good steak or even a cheeseburger once in a while, and Heaven knows, I’m no fan of the animal rights nuts, but even I know that treating an animal in this manner is just plain wrong!
Capt. Logan Veath, commander of Company B in the 25th Infantry Division, pleaded with the Iraqi major who was leading some 50 of his troops away from the Sadr City fight, urging him to return to the front, the paper reported.
“If you turn around and go back up the street those soldiers will follow you,” Veath said. “If you tuck tail and cowardly run away they will follow up that way, too.”
Veath’s pleas failed, and U.S. and Iraqi commanders mounted an urgent effort to regain lost ground, the Times wrote.
Two weeks ago, more than 1,000 Iraqi soldiers deserted during the fight against militias in Basra.
Whether it’s cowardice, or a “tribal” thing, if the Iraqis can’t stand up and fight for their own country, then they are screwed, and we are never going to get out of there. Iraqis must get control of their own country, and get past the centuries old prejudices. If they don’t, they can all fry as far as I’m concerned. I just have a hard time caring anymore. If these actions are getting our men and women killed, then yeah, let’s pull out, bomb the crap out of the areas that are the biggest problem, and let them sort it out themselves.
Pope urges open arms for immigrants to U.S.
Pope Benedict XVI urged the nation’s Roman Catholic bishops and cardinals Wednesday to support new immigrants to the United States.
“I want to encourage you and your communities to continue to welcome the immigrants who join your ranks today, to share their joys and hopes, to support them in their sorrows and trials and to help them flourish in their new home,” the pope said during a prayer service at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
I wasn’t aware that we didn’t welcome immigrants. If he’s expecting us to welcome the people sneaking in, breaking the laws of the land, he can kiss my English speaking, Irish immigrant descendant,a$$!
Virginia, Vermont battle over homosexual ‘marriage’ in VA high court
The case involves Lisa Miller — a former homosexual and the biological mother of a five-year-old girl — and Janet Jenkins, Miller’s former lesbian partner. The pair was “civil unionized” in Vermont, but later that union was dissolved. Now Jenkins is suing Miller to obtain custody of Miller’s daughter.
Liberty Counsel’s Matt Staver, who is arguing the case before the Virginia Supreme Court, says this case is more than a child custody issue. He contends the sovereignty of states is at issue, especially whether or not a state’s constitutional traditional marriage amendment will stand when challenged by a state such as Vermont, which recognizes a form of homosexual “marriage.”
Sometimes, emotional bonds are stronger than biological ones. However, I’m on the side of the biological mother. I’m curious as to why the former partner is suing. I haven’t seen any stories on this. So, if anyone knows…..?
17% hike? No way, says council
While a city property tax increase may be inevitable next year, it is highly unlikely Memphians will have to pay the 17 percent hike Mayor Willie Herenton has proposed, City Council members said Wednesday.
In his budget address to the council Tuesday, Herenton recommended a property tax increase to offset declining revenues. The proposal would bump the rate — already the highest municipal rate in the state — 58 cents to $4.01 per $100 of assessed value. It would raise the yearly tax bill on a $150,000 home to $1,503.75, up $217.50.
I have come to the conclusion that Herenton is an egomaniac, and the only best interest he has at heart, is his own. Perhaps if he had worked to get the thug culture out of Memphis, there wouldn’t be such a decline in revenue.
But there are so many bigger complaints about airline travel today, starting with flight delays that have trapped passengers in plane cabins for hours, that few travel experts seemed impressed by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s revised bump rules.
Addressing airline delays “is more important,” said Joe Brancatelli, editor and publisher of JoeSentMe.com, a business travel Web site. “Instead of going after the tail that wags the dog, [the government is] going after the flea on the dog’s tail.”
I don’t suppose it has occurred to any of these morons that in order to fix a problem, you have to go to the root, not the symptom? Naw…that would be asking too much. D.C.’s answer to everything is putting a band aid on broken bones.
It began when a rider crashed his motorcycle on U.S. 129 in a winding area known as “the Dragon.”
Miller said the steep and rocky terrain prevents firefighters from making a direct attack on the fire. They were working to contain it between the highway and the Topoco power line.
Officials said the motorcyclist walked away from the crash.
I don’t suppose the thought has crossed their minds to use one of those planes to douse the fire. Why wait till it becomes a 100 acres, or more, before using something that can actually get to it? Glad the rider is ok though.

1 Corinthians 1:18
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
