An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
Curious
Why does this headline from CBS have particular words in quotations?
“Hostile” Iran Sparks U.S. Attack Plan
Is Iran’s hostility towards the U.S., and western countries in question?
A second American aircraft carrier steamed into the Persian Gulf on Tuesday as the Pentagon ordered military commanders to develop new options for attacking Iran. CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports that the planning is being driven by what one officer called the “increasingly hostile role” Iran is playing in Iraq - smuggling weapons into Iraq for use against American troops.
There they are again. Well, I understand quoting a person’s words (I did ace English believe it or not), I find the context a little odd. Do the folks as CBS not hear the words of Ahmabooboo? Have they not been aware of Iran’s actions in Iraq, aiding the terrorists? Is anyone awake over there at CBS? Naw…..probably not.
Carry on, CBS. The bad guys must really love y’all.
And no, for the record, I do NOT want to see our country engaged in a war with Iran.

Good point. Those little quotations appear to make a mockery of the hostility. What pathetic arsh-holes.
Heh. Well, that’s one way of putting it politely.
CBS = Complete Bull Shit…
Yup…and you’re being overly polite too!
It would appear the quotation remarks were in place for something as absurd as quoting someone. What’s next, using other punctuation marks to end a sentence?
Now capper, don’t make me come up there and smack you!
Did ya read what I wrote? I said I understood the quotations and all that….the way it was written however leaves me to question just who is writing this stuff.
Oh, Kate, it wasn’t meant for you. It was for your other commenters.
But you should come up here. I’ll even buy you a barley soda. After all, after your comment about not wanting to go to war with Iran, I can’t help but think I may be a good influence on you.
Now don’t you scare me! I’m OLD don’cha know!
Well, not that you’re a canine, but you know the old adage about teaching old dogs new tricks. I’m sure it counts towards bloggers as well.
