Bredesen focuses cuts on three areas
The state should cut from TennCare spending, higher education and employees’ salaries to respond to its deepening economic downturn, Gov. Phil Bredesen told lawmakers Monday, saying the state must act “decisively and conservatively” to weather its financial crisis.
One area they definitely should NOT cut is TennCare! And I’m afraid if they cut education, they’ll be union members lining up to shout out just how bad is the need to raise taxes “for the chiiiiiiiillllllruns”. Hey, how ’bout cutting a few bucks from the bunker? Cut a few bucks in bennies across the board for state employees. There are numerous ways to tighten the belt, without gouging education. Although, I’ll go along with cutting employee’s salaries, if they are way up at the top. How about slicing off some funds that subsidize the flippin’ Titans?
Agency: Junta holding back best cyclone aid
However, the United Nations said the World Food Program was getting in only 20 percent of the food needed following the May 3 cyclone because of logistics problems and government restrictions, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.
Stop ALL aid. Now. Drop flyers over the affected areas stating why. It makes no sense to continue sending aid if the thugs confiscate it, and refuse to distribute it to those in serious need. It just means all the countries sending stuff are aiding a dictatorship, helping to starve the people.
Racist Incidents Give Some Obama Campaigners Pause
For all the hope and excitement Obama’s candidacy is generating, some of his field workers, phone-bank volunteers and campaign surrogates are encountering a raw racism and hostility that have gone largely unnoticed — and unreported — this election season. Doors have been slammed in their faces. They’ve been called racially derogatory names (including the white volunteers). And they’ve endured malicious rants and ugly stereotyping from people who can’t fathom that the senator from Illinois could become the first African American president.
I don’t doubt there are still ignoramous’ out there who won’t vote for Obama because of his skin tone. I also don’t doubt there are moonbats out there who will, JUST because of the color of his skin. Honestly, there are enough reasons to state why you won’t vote for him without resorting to juvenile tactics. Grow up people!
‘No Hope’ for Children Buried in Earthquake
The children who were considered fortunate escaped with a broken bone or a severed limb. The others, hundreds of them, were carried out to be buried, and their remaining classmates lay crushed beneath the rubble of the schoolhouse.

Pentagon Drops Charges Against ‘20th’ 9/11 Hijacker
The Pentagon has dropped charges against a Saudi at Guantanamo who was alleged to have been the so-called “20th hijacker” in the Sept. 11 attacks, his U.S. military defense lawyer said Monday.
Mohammed al-Qahtani was one of six men charged by the military in February with murder and war crimes for their alleged roles in the 2001 attacks. Authorities say al-Qahtani missed out on taking part in the attacks because he was denied entry to the U.S. by an immigration agent.
I’m not getting it. Why drop the charges? Does that mean he’s free to plot again? I thought Moussaoui was the 20th hijacker? I must say, I’m seriously baffled.
UNSC turned into a tools in hands of global arrogance
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) which should help restore global peace and security has turned into a tools in the hands of bullying powers.
Well, the ‘Booboo is partially right. The Useless Numnuts ARE tools of bullies……MUSLIM bullies.
Memphis police cut ties with TV’s ‘First 48′
Police director Larry Godwin decided not to renew the department’s deal with the company that produces “The First 48″ after several City Council members voiced concerns that the show made the Bluff City look like Murder Central.
“I heard out-of-town people say Memphis was out of control,” said City Council member Wanda Halbert. “We were exposing the world to the worst aspects of our city.”
Well, if the dead body falls……. Watching the nightly news out of Memphis, it’s a surprising occasion to hear that no one had been shot, or stabbed, or beat. Memphis is a disgrace to the state, yet this yahoo is concerned about the opinion of a few TV watchers? How about worrying about the citizens, and do you flippin’ job!

Mother of dead babies hidden in box for 52 years identified by police
It is understood the family had thought the boxes contained Christmas decorations.
The first time Lucia touched them was when she decided to get rid of her mother’s belongings in a house clearance.
Inside a pink doll’s box and blue toy box, she discovered two smaller boxes containing the naked remains, which had been wrapped in towelling material and a coat.
Uh….if they were stillborn, why keep them in a box? Why not bury them?
‘Gov’t’s powerlessness is intolerable’
The defense minister said that the government was aspiring to achieve quiet in the area. However, he added, “It won’t take another eights years, and not even another year. But tomorrow the situation will not change.” He pledged to promote the fortification of the area and the building of shelters. Barak said that all of the schools and bus stops would be fortified.
Honestly, I think the Israeli people have been MORE than patient. The time for patience is long gone!
