Bin Laden marks Israel anniversary with combat vow
Bin Laden has placed growing emphasis on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in recent pronouncements.
He said it was at the heart of the Muslim battle with the West and an inspiration to the 19 bombers who carried out the attacks on U.S. cities on September 11, 2001.
“We will continue, God permitting, the fight against the Israelis and their allies … and will not give up a single inch of Palestine as long as there is one true Muslim on earth,” the leader of al Qaeda said in the latest message, posted on an Islamist website on Friday.
I’d say that was a pretty large “hint” to the Dhimmis. There is going to be a long haul war against terrorism, and ‘chatting’ with tea and crumpet ain’t gonna cut it!
Lawmakers can keep ties to stocks secret
While Congress prescribed a strict conflict-of-interest law for the judiciary, which prompted Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito to remove himself from a punitive-damages case involving Exxon Mobil, it didn’t apply the same test to lawmakers.
That has allowed Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison to oppose bills that would hurt Irving-based Exxon, in which Ms. Hutchison owns stock valued between $100,000 and $250,000, according to disclosure reports. The reports don’t require lawmakers to record the exact value of an asset. Mr. Alito’s stock in Exxon is valued within the same range.
Ms. Hutchison, R-Texas, also owns between $50,000 and $100,000 of stock in Chevron, which, like Exxon, opposes proposed legislation to impose a “windfall profits” tax on oil companies.
Ms Hutchison isn’t just help her own stock portfolio. She’s also helping the numerous others who hold stock in oil companies, one in particular that would be out on the street if it weren’t for her Exxon stock. Social Security just doesn’t pay the bills, much less buy food. This windfall tax isn’t just a bad idea for stockholders. It’s a really, REALLY, bad idea for consumers.
House GOP strips war funds from bill
The Democrat-led House yesterday passed a war-funding bill that failed to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The unusual outcome occurred when Republicans used a parliamentary maneuver to sabotage Democrats’ plans to tie the proposed $162.5 billion for the wars to a veto-provoking 18-month pullout timetable, domestic programs and a tax increase.
In the aftermath of the vote, accusations of political gamesmanship were traded across the aisle.
Slick move? I guess all the experts who state that putting a timetable on a pull out would cause more chaos just flies over the heads of the Dhimmis.
Mr. Chávez has denied the link between his government – and himself personally – and the drug-dealing FARC, a Marxist “liberation” group that has terrorized Colombia for decades. He claims that the documents seized earlier this year in a Colombian military raid in Ecuador are forgeries designed to prepare an invasion of Venezuela by the Bush Administration. No doubt he’ll stick to that story. If so, he’ll have to add Interpol – and the Australian and Singaporean forensic experts who examined the files – to the list of conspirators.
Among other things, the documents detail personal meetings between Mr. Chávez and senior FARC leaders and the provision of money and materiel to the “rebels.” Of a $250 million “loan” from Venezuela to FARC, Venezuela’s Interior Minister wrote in one email, “Don’t think of it as a loan, think of it as solidarity.” The documents also describe Venezuela providing FARC with rocket-propelled grenades – and training in the Middle East on how to use them to shoot down Colombian military aircraft.
This scumball would shoot a dog in front of millions of people, and still deny it ever happened. He is slime, and should be removed, post haste!
Obese Blamed For World Food Crisis
Obese people are adding to the world food crisis because of the amount they eat, experts claim.
Food prices are soaring around the world, placing staple products beyond the reach of poorer communities and leading to social unrest.
Increasing oil prices and the use of land for growing biofuels instead of edible crops are said to be two major factors driving up the cost of food.
But, according to two experts from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, obesity is also to blame.
Is this another way of blaming the U.S. cuz we basically on the chunky side overall? I wonder who did this study? A bunch wheat germ munching weasels?
Obama: Bush speech a ‘political attack’
Speaking to parliamentarians on the occasion of Israel’s 60th anniversary, Bush warned against engagement with terrorists and other enemies.
“Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” Bush said. “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.’
So what? So what if the statement was made with Hussein in mind? You don’t ‘talk’ to egotistical lunatics. To think you can change their minds and hearts is beyond egotistical. Pretty much describes B. Hussein, doesn’t it? What an over sized ego that man has. He is NOT the Messiah!
Cozy dealings for Ford, Cooper
The government’s key witness in former City Councilman Edmund Ford Sr.’s federal extortion and bribery trial said he and Ford regularly did favors for one another though never discussed bribes.
Cooper also said Ford had never accepted money before the 2006 FBI sting in which Cooper passed him $8,900 while wearing hidden recording equipment.
“I did not trick him,” said Cooper, who has admitted he cooperated with the FBI in hopes of getting a sentencing break on his money-laundering conviction last year. “I handed it to him and he could have pushed it back. He didn’t have to take it.”
The guy is a slime ball. I don’t believe he never took any money before this incident!
