Saudis increase oil production
Saudi Arabia granted President Bush’s request for an increase in oil production yesterday, while the Bush administration heeded calls from Congress to temporarily stop filling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Both moves are aimed at easing tight world oil supplies, but the relatively small steps failed to prevent oil’s ascent to another record high over $127 a barrel in New York trading before settling at $126.29 yesterday. Analysts expect pressure on oil prices to remain high as China increases its consumption of diesel to fuel rescue efforts and rebuilding after a devastating earthquake.
If the idea is to end dependency on foreign oil, why is anyone asking the Saudis, or anyone else to increase THEIR production? Why aren’t we increasing OURS?
Burma ‘guilty of inhuman action’
UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has condemned Burma’s military government for not allowing international aid to reach the victims of Cyclone Nargis.
Mr Brown told the BBC that a natural disaster had been turned into a “man-made catastrophe” because of the negligence of the ruling generals.
Nothing like stating the obvious! This is what those who suffer from SMTPS (short man, tiny penis syndrome) do!
‘Bush responsible for rise of Hamas’
Democrat Barack Obama lumped Republican John McCain in with the unpopular Bush administration on Friday for advancing a “naive and irresponsible” foreign policy, attempting to turn the tables in a presidential election battle in which his own national security credentials have been challenged. Obama also hinted that were McCain president, he would continue the policies currently followed by the Bush administration, and added that terror groups like Hamas and Al Qaida have grown because the US under Bush “took … [the] eye off the ball in Afghanistan.”
Is he freaking kidding? “Naive”? One of the few people in the cesspool called D.C. who are aware of just how big the dangers are form terrorist is Bush. If anyone is naive, it’s that clown named Hussein! The extremely public dissent from the lefties at the Capital is what has emboldened groups like Hamas and al Qaeda, and the Iranians. What a complete dick!
Iraqi president rules out anti-Iran allegations
President of Iraq Jalal Talabani Friday evening ruled out the US allegations against Iran and alleged involvement in sending weapons to Iraq.
Speaking in a televised interview with the Al-Arabia TV of Iraq, Talabani said he, as the president of Iraq, did not agree the claims made by some military officers in this regard.
President Talabani said that comments made by certain persons were their personal ideas and not the official position of the Iraqi government.
And I suppose evidence to the contrary means absolutely nothing, right? They can all blow themselves to whatever hell is reserved for the Religion of Pieces. I don’t give a happy crap!
Governor backs same-sex marriage ruling
A day after the state Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples should have the right to marry in California, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Friday that he supports the court’s decision even though his personal view is that “marriage is between a man and a woman.”
The only thing he’s “terminating” now, is civilized society!
Bush Focuses On Arab Side of Mideast Stalemate
President Bush pivoted to the Arab side of the Mideast peace dispute on Saturday, but he may well get a less glowing reception than he did in Israel earlier this week.
Pivoted? What do they mean by “pivoted”? He’s now on the side of the terrorists money men?
Bush is seen in the Arab world as tilting much too far toward Israel. Comments Friday from Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal about Bush’s speech suggested that had not changed.
“We are all aware of the special U.S.-Israeli relation and its political dimensions,” he said. “It is, however, important also to affirm the legitimate and political rights of the Palestinian people.”
He also sharply criticized Israel for the “humanistic suffering weighed upon the West Bank and Gaza Strip population” of Palestinians. He said Israel’s “continued policy of expanding settlements on Palestinian territories” undermines the peace process.
The Pallies undermine their own peace by their actions. Are the Israelis suppose to financially support them no matter what they do, like wayward children? I don’t bloody well think so. If there is ever going to be peace, which there isn’t, the Pallies need to stand up on their own two feet, and start producing something other than homicide bombers and hatred.
A West Tennessee teacher accused of sleeping with a student resigned Friday.
According to investigators, Tracy Hinson — a chemistry teacher at Lake County High School in Tiptonville, Tennessee — traded inappropriate and intimate text messages with a 16-year-old boy.
Though a judge dismissed some of Hinson’s misdemeanor charges this week, prosecutors are planning to build a stronger criminal case against the teacher.
What is it with these teachers? I just don’t get it!
White valedictorian: A first for historically black Morehouse
Joshua Packwood knows what it’s like to be a minority.
This weekend he’ll be the first white valedictorian to graduate from the historically black, all male Morehouse College in the school’s 141-year history.
Perhaps there has been some forward progress in race relations.
