Ann on Libtard Hysteria
If We Could Talk to the Animals
You always know you’ve struck gold when liberals react with hysteria and rage to something you’ve said. So I knew President Bush’s speech at the Knesset last week was a barn burner before even I read it. Liberals haven’t been this worked up since Rev. Jerry Falwell criticized a cartoon sponge.
Calling the fight against terrorism “the defining challenge of our time” — which already confused liberals who think the defining struggle of our time is against Wal-Mart — Bush said:
“Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”
The way liberals squealed, you’d think someone had mentioned Obama’s ears. Summoning all their womanly anger, today’s Neville Chamberlains denounced Bush, saying this was an unjustified attack on Obambi and, furthermore, that it’s absurd to compare B. Hussein Obama’s willingness to “talk” to Ahmadinejad to Neville Chamberlain’s capitulation to Hitler.

Unlike liberals, I will honestly report their point before I attack it.

War Bill Supplements Planned Parenthood
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has a funny way of expressing his appreciation for our troops this Memorial Day. Rather than honoring our soldiers with the funding they need, the Senate is stuffing the war supplemental bill with pro-abortion paybacks for groups like Planned Parenthood. By fattening up the legislation with controversial earmarks, the leadership has not only jeopardized the timetable for the bill’s passage but raised the possibility that it will not pass at all. Despite the urgent needs of our servicemen, Reid and his liberal allies are more concerned about funding the war against the unborn than the war in Iraq. The bill is rolling in pork, including a provision that would give groups like Planned Parenthood a big discount on contraceptives and Plan B, which can act as an abortifacient. It would also be a massive cash cow for university health centers, which would also be eligible for a discount on such drugs. Keep in mind that these clinics already make profits on the pills when they mark them up for resale. Nor are many of the recipients suffering in the financial department, thanks to a hefty investment of your hard-earned tax dollars. So the $165 billion question is: What does any of this have to do with Iraq? Absolutely nothing. Reid’s personal political agenda is exposing our active-duty troops to new risks as they wait on Congress to duke out the abortion provisions. The bill is bloated with millions of dollars in other unnecessary pet projects for infrastructure, health care, NASA, and more. Until Democrats put their anti-war vendetta aside and both parties rein in spending, the supplemental faces failure on the floor or due to the President’s veto pen. Contact your Senators today and remind them that this is no time to make a political statement. Now is the time to support our troops!
If I was capable of actual hatred, I mean the real down deep to your toes hatred, this piece human excrement would be pretty damn high on my list!

No Bias?
I was snooping around, and noticed something. These are the headlines for CNN’s political ticker:

- Carter: Obama-Clinton ticket unlikely
- Cafferty: Why is Hillary Clinton still in the race?

Mark Steyn vs. the ‘Sock Puppets’
Mark Steyn is in the business of making predictions. The possible consequences of some of those predictions recently led him to make another one: “My career in Canada will be formally ended next month.”
How has it come to this?
On June 2, Steyn and Maclean’s magazine — the nation’s oldest newsweekly — are obliged to defend themselves against charges of “flagrant Islamophobia” at a British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal.
The saga began two years ago, when Maclean’s published an excerpt of Steyn’s bestselling book, America Alone, which asks how the West’s changing demographic profile — specifically, the difference between Muslim and non-Muslim birthrates — will affect its future.
In December 2007, the Canadian Islamic Congress (CIC) filed Human Rights Commission complaints against Steyn and the magazine in three different jurisdictions, charging them with “exposing Muslims to hatred and contempt” for, among other things, accurately quoting a Norwegian imam who boasted that Muslims were breeding “like mosquitoes.”
The CIC demanded that Maclean’s print five pages of unedited Islamist propaganda in the interest of “fairness” and “balance.” Maclean’s refused. In fact, publisher Ken Whyte’s response to the group — that he would rather see the magazine go bankrupt than bow to their blackmail — outraged the CIC as much as Steyn’s original article.

Obama’s Flawed Reality
He views Iran’s nuclear threat as “tiny.” He’d meet with its leader, who is pledged to Israel’s destruction. His adviser wants Israel to disarm. Clearly, Barack Obama is running for Jimmy Carter’s second term.
I keep hearing that McFeingold would be Bush III. Given the fact John is not really much like Bush, but more like a good chunk of Dhimmis, I find this annoying. Although, truthfully, Bush was never anywhere near as conservative as I’d have prefered, McCain, is even less so. In walks Barack HUSSEIN Obama, the darker skinned Jimmah. sigh….
If we’ve been particularly hard on Sen. Obama in recent days, it’s because he’s a gift that keeps on giving. He consistently demonstrates his lack of qualifications to be commander in chief based on experience, worldview and judgment.
I constantly see his ‘worldview’ as one seen through the eyes of the mentally disabled. And I wouldn’t want a Down’s person in the White House either, although, I might prefer him or her, to Obama. (Apologies to any Down’s person. I think you are a LOT smarter than Hussein!)
His latest foray into dangerous naivete came while campaigning Sunday in Pendleton, Ore. He told the assembled multitude: “Iran? Cuba? Venezuela? — these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don’t pose a threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us.”
Hey doofus! It doesn’t matter what size the country is! It’s what size the freakin’ BOMB is, that matters!
He went on to defend his policy of “aggressive personal diplomacy” and called for “tough, disciplined and direct diplomacy. That’s what Kennedy did. That’d what Reagan did.”
I’d say somebody needs to do a little more searching before making such statements to “the unwashed masses”.
Kennedy in his inaugural address pledged that “we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” That doesn’t sound like Obama’s policy on Iraq or anywhere else.
Uh, no…..no, it doesn’t.
Yes, Kennedy talked to Khrushchev. But the Soviet leader came away from that summit so unimpressed with the young and untested American president that the following year he put nuclear missiles in Cuba targeted on American cities. Kennedy was forced to blockade Cuba and risk nuclear war.
Were there tea and crumpets at that particular meeting? Let’s see, Kennedy: young, inexperienced. Obama: young, inexperienced. Yep, but that’s where the similarities should come to an end. Kennedy cut taxes, Obama wants to raise them.
Obama said that Reagan’s “direct negotiation” with Gorbachev “over time allowed the kind of opening that brought down the Berlin Wall.” What brought down the Berlin Wall, and the Soviet Union, was Reagan’s unrelenting resistance to and confrontation with the “evil empire” based on his strategy of “we win, they lose.” That was how Reagan “negotiated” with Gorbachev.
I bet Hussein had to wash him mouth out with soap after invoking the name of Reagan. But, yet again, his history is flawed.
Yes, Reagan talked with Gorbachev. But he resisted the Soviet advance from Nicaragua to Grenada to Afghanistan. He put Pershing missiles in Europe. He launched the Strategic Defense Initiative and said “nyet” when Gorbachev wanted us to deal it away. When Reagan said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” the end of the Cold War already was a fait accompli.
Reagan would have had NO problem slapping down the Soviet Union if the need arose. Luckily for us, he was an extremely strong leader, so it wasn’t necessary.
Obama wants to talk with Iran. But the question he refuses to answer is what he’d tell Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Obama dislikes being called an appeaser. But would he say to Iran: No deal unless you disown and disarm Hezbollah? We doubt it. More likely he’d sacrifice a country such as Lebanon to Tehran’s ambitions in a modern-day Munich.
He might not like being called an appeaser, but that’s exactly what he is. No preconditions? I don’t bloody well think so! If Hussein wants to kiss Ahmabooboo’s hind end, he can do it as a civilian…NOT as the President of the United States!
More Hussein

Kennedy’s illness stirs talk about family legacy
As U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy battles a brain tumor in Massachusetts General Hospital, his home state is hoping his illness will not bring a swift end to the Kennedy era.
Kennedy, 76, the last of four brothers in America’s most storied political dynasty, has been in the hospital since he suffered a seizure at his family vacation home on Cape Cod on Sunday.
Family legacy? Bootlegging, the mob, adultery, MURDER? How’s that for a family legacy? And that’s only the tip of the iceburg!
Oil passes $130 a barrel; Wall Street heads for lower open
Oil has marched higher despite rising inventories, in part because traders believe demand will continue to increase in developing countries including China. Speculative buying has also fed some of the gains.
Supply and demand. Perhaps if WE did some of the supplying, we could deal with our own demand? Don’t forget, if you have a 401K, odds are, YOU own some of that “Big Oil”.
Man Arrested With Explosives at Swedish Nuclear Plant
Police said the man was carrying a plastic bag with an unknown amount of a substance believed to be triacetone triperoxide, or TATP, an explosive used in the London bombings in 2005.
However, plant spokesman Anders Osterberg said only traces of the substance were found on the bag’s handle, suggesting it may have rubbed off from the man’s hands.
“The bag contained toiletries, but a test found traces of the substance on the bag’s handle,” Osterberg told The Associated Press.
Hmmm…. They don’t mention the guy’s name. I wonder……
Israel: Russia may be selling Syria arms
Fearing that Damascus is acquiring advanced military platforms, Israel is closely following meetings being held in Moscow this week between a high-level Syrian military delegation and Russian Defense Ministry officials.
Senior government officials in Jerusalem said they have been aware for several days of the Syrians’ upcoming visit to the Russian capital but that it was not yet clear which military platforms Damascus was requesting.
Really? Then what’s with this headline at the top of JP with no story attached? Israel and Syria officially announce peace talks
Ground Zero Responders Found To Have Elevated Anxiety
New York lawmakers, citing a new study that finds many ground zero rescue workers have anxiety levels similar to those of war veterans, are calling on the federal government to support health care for them.
The study, by researchers at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, found that among more than 10,000 workers, 11% met the criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder, an anxiety disorder, and 8.8% had probable depression. Researchers said the rate of post-traumatic stress disorder is similar to the rate experienced by veterans who served in Afghanistan.
11% makes the headline a tad misleading. I’ve no doubt those who responded and watched as their friends, neighbors and colleagues die, those who dug through the rubble searching, and praying to find survivors WOULDN’T have an elevated stress level. But this is what chaps my hide:
“The time for this president to take action is now,” Ms. Maloney, who represents parts of Manhattan and Queens, said.
Excuse me, MIZZ Maloney, but why don’t YOU do something? Why don’t you reach out? Why don’t those living in the area, who see these people, day after day, watching them, why don’t THEY reach out? When did it become this president’s job, or any president for that matter, to deal with local issues? Just one more example of how the left and even some on the right, expect the FEDERAL gubmint to solve all the problems. And it just PISSES ME OFF!
More warm weather in forecast today
Today is expected to be clear and sunny with temperatures reaching the low 80s for Jackson-Madison County, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.
Finally! Yes, I’m in hawg heaven! We maybe be 57 miles from Jackson, but it’s a good indication that we’re gonna be warm today.
Obama hits target on delegates
Sen. Barack Obama last night said he had reached a major milestone toward the Democratic presidential nomination, shortly after Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton scored a big win in Kentucky and pledged to fight on until “every vote is cast.”
Mr. Obama’s victory in Oregon shored up his sizable delegate lead over Mrs. Clinton, whom he praised widely last night as someone who broke barriers for women everywhere.
sigh…. I guess I’m going to have to bite the bullet, and actually support McFeingold. ANYTHING to keep that socialist out of the Oval Office!

‘Highest Eta commander’ arrested
The most senior commander of the Basque separatist movement, Eta, has been arrested in a joint Spanish-French operation, Spanish authorities say.
Javier Lopez Pena – alias “Thierry” – was seized with three other Eta suspects in a late-night raid in the city of Bordeaux, in south-west France.
Eta is blamed for the deaths of more than 820 people in its 40-year campaign for an independent Basque nation.
Why is it they want to be an independent nation? Serious question. I don’t remember reading the ‘whys’ exactly.
Verse of the Day
1 Corinthians 1:10
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
