An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
A Question About B. Hussein
I’ve been pondering this for a bit, and am quite curious. Back in 2004, we heard much ado about Bush’s time in the National Guard. And of course, unless you were under a rock, you heard about John Kerry’s tour in Vietnam (what, for a whole 15 minutes?) and his Purple Hearts (which his ego insisted he receive, even if he didn’t deserve them).
Now, here we are in 2008, with a whole new ballgame, in the top of the 8th inning, and not one single person, that I’m aware of, has brought up the fact that Barack Hussein Obama has never served his country in the military, in any capacity. Oh, there will be some that say he ’served’ by being an activist for his community, or he ’served’ in the Illinois state house, and he’s ’served’ his country by being a U.S. Senator. Well, ok….if serve is what you want to call that, although, I’d beg to differ on that “serve” part. Seems to me, the only person he has really served is himself.
So, with him spouting Queen Nanny’s and Runnin’ Reid’s talking points (”the war is lost”), why has no one ever brought this up? Or have I missed it, and he actually has addressed this issue. No, I don’t think you have to serve in the military in order to be Commander in Chief, but it sure doesn’t hurt to have some idea of what those brave men and woman are all about, does it?

Bush 41 and 43 both served, Clinton didn’t, Obama never has and never will, and just because they served doesn’t mean they learned anything, look at 41 and 43…
@TexasFred:
Well, I think both 41 and 43 had a much better understanding that either Clinton (both of ‘em) or Hussein do. The biggest disappointment I’ve had is the U.S. bowed to the Useless Numnuts, and didn’t finish the job, back in ‘91, or with our recent go ’round with the Islamofascists.
I’d still like to know why no one has brought up his lack of REAL service.
This seems kind of obvious to me: Any quality their guy possesses (or can be made to look like he possesses, see Kerry) is an important quality for leadership; if their guy doesn’t have it, it’s a detriment. Doesn’t matter what the quality is, consistency and principles are unimportant: all that matters is getting their guy in.
You’ll note they spin his lack of experience as an asset–Bush and McCain have that experience, so they’re portrayed as blundering over-aggressive chimpanzees breaking things all over the globe, while Obama’s lack of experience means he’ll do everything differently. Tea with genocidal maniacs.
I wanna puke.
@HeatherRadish:
Seems he has some major issue with reality too! Other than his lack of experience, he has a lack of education.
Sigh…. I’m gonna end up having to put a McFeingold sign in my yard. Not campaigning for him though, just trying to make a stand against Hussein.
