Whoa!
If you think the previous post and link was a bit over the edge from reality, take a gander at this column about the so called “National Conference for Media Reform”. I wish someone would explain to me what’s so “progressive” about the government controlling ever bloomin’ thing that can be controlled? Most of which, should have NO gubmint fingerprints on it what so ever!
The Loony Left
I’ll be the first to admit I miss a lot of things, so by the time I get around to seeing them, they might be old news. But this one has got to take the cake!
Is Obama an enlightened being?
Barack Obama isn’t really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway.

Now, take a wild guess which city the guy who wrote this lives. Go ahead. Don’t click, just guess. Where in the world (let’s limit it to the contiguous U.S.) would such a granola call home?
The appeal, the pull, the ethereal and magical thing that seems to enthrall millions of people from all over the world, that keeps opening up and firing into new channels of the culture normally completely unaffected by politics?
“Unaffected by politics?” ………………………………………………………………………………………
That kid is nothing BUT political BS. Empty promises!
Here’s where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.
What? It wasn’t “gooey” before? A “Lightworker”? Personally, I’d say he was an agent of the Prince of Darkness.
I gotta tell ya, the blather this clown is spewing is far beyond anything I could have expected from a left wing loon! I honestly didn’t think they could lap up Hussein’s excrement anymore than they already have. I was wrong. This is truly a piece of work. Oh, and that’s NOT a compliment.

Gov. Bredesen appoints task force to save energy
Gov. Phil Bredesen has named an ad hoc committee to develop immediate recommendations for what Tennessee should do to cut electricity use in state buildings and gas consumption in the state’s fleet of vehicles.
During a meeting of his Energy Policy Task Force in Chattanooga, Bredesen named the four-member panel to identify easy ways to realize the biggest energy savings.
Well good. Maybe he’ll duct tape their mouths, and turn off the lights! Every time some committee is formed, no matter the purpose, it always ends up costing the taxpayers money.
Race issue may prove tricky for McCain campaign
Now that Barack Obama has clinched the Democratic nomination, Republican John McCain faces the unprecedented, and tricky, task of building a campaign against the first black presidential candidate of a major party in a general election campaign.
A key test may come in how McCain and groups supporting him treat Obama’s former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., and his incendiary comments as a campaign issue, something the Obama and McCain campaigns have skirmished over.
What’s “tricky”? It’s not his skin tone….it’s HIM! B. Hussein has much to “attack”, without color ever coming into play at all! The only ones making an issue of his color are the libtards.
Fire destroys Texas governor’s mansion
Texas state officials say a four-alarm fire has caused “catastrophic” damage to the Texas Governor’s Mansion in Austin.
Governor’s spokesman Robert Black says said no one was inside the 150-year-old home when the fire began shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday. He says the cause is not yet known.
The mansion had been undergoing a $10 million renovation and Gov. Rick Perry and his wife had moved out last fall.
Well, that sucks. Glad the Governor and his wife weren’t there.
World Health Organization Admits Threat of Global AIDS Epidemic Is Over
“It is very unlikely there will be a heterosexual epidemic in other countries,” de Cock is quoted in The Independent. “Ten years ago a lot of people were saying there would be a generalized epidemic in Asia — China was the big worry with its huge population. That doesn’t look likely. But we have to be careful. As an epidemiologist it is better to describe what we can measure. There could be small outbreaks in some areas.”
However, AIDS still kills more adults than all wars, and is winning against current efforts to address it, The Independent reported. A WHO/U.N. AIDS report published in June shows less than a third of people in developing countries who need anti-retroviral drugs are receiving them. There were 33 million people living with HIV in 2007.
I notice they didn’t mention San Fransisco.
Obama’s associations may haunt bid
Who’s Tony Rezko? William Ayers? Few Americans know, but they probably will by Election Day.
Both men have ties to Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, and may well show up in even more anti-Obama ads than they already have.
These days, presidential candidates can expect to have every personal relationship, new or ancient, investigated, and if there’s political hay to be made, a version of the details is quickly out. All candidates have their associations questioned, but it’s especially true for Mr. Obama, still a newcomer to the national scene. Voters haven’t had years to form impressions based on what he has said or the legislation he’s supported.
One can only hope that the Obama droolers will snap out of their trance, and soon!
Afghan insurgents attack convoy, kill 11 police
Insurgents attacked a police convoy in central Afghanistan on Sunday, killing 11 police and wounding one, an official said.
Around the same time, a clash in the same region left one Taliban insurgent dead and wounded two others, police said.
The convoy attack occurred in the Qarabagh district of Ghazni province, said the province’s deputy governor, Kazim Allayar. He said at least three police vehicles were destroyed.
No information was immediately available on whether any insurgents were killed.
Perhaps it’s time to start seriously at moving some troops into Afghanistan? Just a thought.
NH gay bishop, partner joined in civil union
The Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire says the first openly gay Episcopal bishop and his partner have been united in a private civil union.
The diocese has posted a notice on its Web site saying Bishop V. Gene Robinson was legally joined to Mark Andrew in a civil ceremony Saturday. They have been partners for 20 years.
Civil unions became legal in New Hampshire this year.
I guess the Episcopalians forgot to read the Bible.
Iraqi PM assures Iran on security
Iraq will not allow its territory to be used to attack Iran, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki has said during a visit to Tehran.
He was speaking after meeting Iran’s foreign minister and is later due to meet President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The role of the US in Iraq is high on the agenda, with Tehran concerned about a treaty under discussion on the terms of the US military’s future in Iraq.
Fine. We save your sorry asses, and you stab us in the back? That’s it! They can all rot in their Muslim hell!
Belgian bishop hauled before court for church teaching on homosexuality cleared of charges
“Homosexuals have encountered a blockage in normal psychological development, rendering them abnormal. I know very well that in a few years, I could be imprisoned for holding this position, but this could mean a bit of a vacation for me”, said Bishop Léonard.
Bishop Léonard was met with criticism when many interpreted his comments to mean that homosexuals were ‘abnormal’ as persons, and he was quick to clarify that it is their behaviour that is abnormal, not their very person.
He quotes Freud, instead of the Bible? Odd.
Musharraf & current Parl cannot co-exist: Pak media
President Pervez Musharraf’s determination to stay on in power in the face of mounting pressure on him to quit has been questioned by the media in Pakistan, with a section concluding that “Musharraf and the current parliament cannot co-exist”.
“President Pervez Musharraf seems to have thrown the ball back into the court of the politicians and Parliament by quite unambiguously saying that he will not resign because he does not consider the February 18 elections as a mandate against him and his policies,” The News daily said.
I’m surprised he’s hung on this long.
Japan: Oil prices could spur global recession
Oil prices made their biggest single-day surge on Friday, soaring $11 to $138.54 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, an 8 percent increase. On the same day, the United States announced a rise in unemployment.
“The situation regarding energy prices is becoming extremely challenging,” Akira Amari, Japan’s trade and energy minister, warned his colleagues Sunday. “If left unaddressed, it may well cause a recession in the global economy.”
Contrary to what many would like to believe, we are NOT the #1 oil gluttons. Between Congress, the envirowhackos, Arab sheiks, and speculators, we have quite a mess on our hands. Isn’t it time to become more self sufficient? Hmmm…????
Affirmative-action foe confident of win in Colorado
The thrust of the initiative, designated Amendment 46 in Colorado, is to ban “preferential treatment” — though the wording doesn’t mention affirmative action.
Currently, race and gender can come into play in hiring and contracting, often through goals that seek to include qualified women- or minority-owned businesses in a pool of applicants. College admissions criteria can include race, among other factors.
For the record: I am 100% in favor of banning “affirmative action”!
Verse of the Day
John 15:18-19
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
