An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings

Out Of Touch

Ya might have noticed blogging has been quite light of late. Well, when you have issues with the motel WiFi, it makes it kind of tough to express an opinion that doesn’t include numerous four lettered words due to the aggravation involved. I spoke to a nice young fella a short while ago when I had to go get more coffee for the morning (they didn’t clean my room today :? ). At this present moment in time, it looks like he might have resolved the problem.

Also, visiting family has taken up a lot of my time, obviously. I drove 700 miles to see the new baby fer cryin’ out loud. Can you believe I have not once turned on the TV in my motel room? Yep, I’ve definitely been out of touch. Heh. Since doing a brief perusal of news online, I can tell I haven’t missed a whole lot. S.S.D.D.

I can tell you, watching my scrawny older sister trying to put flea and tick stuff on her 12 dogs is a WHOLE lot more entertaining that any TV show ever made.

One particular canine was having none of that stuff. I do believe he was having a high ol’ time making her follow him back and forth between the tree and my niece’s car. Then there were the goats that needed to be fed and watered, not to mention the four donkeys bellowing for their chow. The cows were fairly quiet though. Yes, my sister definitely runs a zoo. Fred, the pot bellied pig just kind of lays around, so there’s not much action there. Now, the cats….well, I lost count at around 10…or I might have counted a couple of them twice. Then again, I might have missed a few too.  I do know there is only one lop eared rabbit though. Hmmm…. I think I need some of that flea stuff! sigh….

Evidently, there is quite a ruckus going on around here concerning the Trans-Texas Corridor. From what little I heard, it’s not a good thing for the folks who live out in the boonies where my sister and her kids and grandkids live. From what my brother in law was telling me, they’d have to drive 40 miles around to get to the town that is only 8 miles from them. Somehow, this just does not make a damn bit of sense. Looking at the website, it seems this is part of that plan to open up our roads to Mexico. I might be wrong. I’m tired, and haven’t fully delved into the info.

Driving back to Hunstville tonight, I realized it must be skunk season. Honestly, I think there was a dead skunk every half mile! Needless to say, the aroma was quite extreme for quite a while.
