Federal Judge Violates 1st Amendment?

ACLU given ‘veto power’ over free-speech rights

Christian groups are appealing a federal judge’s ruling that bars the Gideons from distributing Bibles to students of the South Iron Missouri School District.

The South Iron School District allows off-campus organizations to distribute literature to students before and after school, and during other non-instructional times such as lunch breaks. But the American Civil Liberties Union sued, saying the Gideons should not be allowed to hand out Bibles because of their religious nature. U.S. District Judge Catherine Perry agreed.

“In fact, the federal judge said…the ACLU must be able to have the say-so over whether religious literature can be distributed — and obviously, if the ACLU has that say-so, no religious literature will ever be distributed,” says Matt Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel.

Am I reading this right? A federal judge, who is suppose to uphold the Constitution of the United States is giving a communist organization the right to say who gets what, when?

But Staver points out that the First Amendment prohibits any “heckler” from having the right to prohibit free speech. “…The ACLU may not like the fact that equal access also means equal treatment for religious speech, but, frankly, the Constitution requires equal treatment,” states the attorney. “…Hecklers may heckle all they want to, but they may not veto private religious speech.”

Staver is asking the Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to overrule Judge Perry. He says that, to his knowledge, no other U.S. court has ever ruled that a private, third party should be given veto power over private religious speech.

If this is allowed to stand, you can be damn sure it won’t be the last time you see YOUR freedom of speech squashed by the lunatics at the ACLU. I’m even having a hard time coming up with words strong enough to express my extreme disgust that a judge would even consider such a ruling.

There is some language that should be left in the gutter, where it belongs.  However, in this case, I do believe it’s appropriate to show just how some piles of male bovine manure, that supposedly pass as human, use their First Amendment right in Milwaukee:

Their mothers must be so proud.

Children as young as three should be reported for ‘racism’, Government-funded group claims

Toddlers should be taught about racism and singled out for criticism if they have racist attitudes, a Government-funded advisory group said yesterday.

It told nursery teachers, playgroup leaders and childminders to record and report every racist incident involving children as young as three.

These could include saying ‘Yuk’ about unfamiliar food.

Even babies should not be ignored in the hunt for racism because they can ‘recognise different people in their lives’, a new guide for nurseries and child care centres said.

If we hadn’t seen the direction GB has been heading, I would have thought this was a really bad joke! A child can’t say “yuk”? How does a small child know what racism is, unless it gets shoved down his/her throat? Which surely, such an undertaking would do. I still say “yuk” to okra. Am I a freakin’ racist?

The instructions for staff in charge of pre-school children in day care have been produced by the National Children’s Bureau, which receives £12million a year, mostly through taxpayer-funded organisations.

Do the Brits appreciate their money being wasted by morons? Evidently so, because they have yet to stand up and say ENOUGH! My respect for the British has seriously declined in recent years.

Nursery staff are told: ‘No racist incident should be ignored. When there is a clear racist intent, it is necessary to be specific in condemning the action.’

Why does Nazi Germany come to mind? Oh yes, I remember now….because children were encouraged to denounce their family members/caregivers. In GB, it’ll be just the opposite. The caregivers will be required to denounce the babies!

Nurseries are encouraged to report as many racist incidents as possible to local councils.

If a baby craps green, instead of brown, is that racism too? Or is it because the kid was forced to eat something that produced the “yuk” response!

The guidance said that anyone who disagrees is racist themselves.

Well, slap a big ol’ RACIST placard on MY forehead, because I think this is one of the more ignorant ideas the moonbat brigade have come up with lately!

Author and researcher on family life Patricia Morgan said: ‘Stepping in to stop severe bullying is one thing, but this is interference in the lives of children. It smacks of totalitarianism.

Gee, ya think?

‘It is regulation of private speech and thought. They intend nursery staff to step into children’s playground squabbles and then report them to the local council as race incidents. Who would ever have thought that the anti-racism crusade would go so far?’

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but the more you push for anti-racism, the more you create racism.

A boy of ten has already been taken to court for calling a mixed race 11-year-old ‘Paki’ and ‘Bin Laden’ in a school playground argument.

The pair subsequently made up and became friends again, yet the Crown Prosecution Service decided to go ahead because the victim’s mother made a complaint.

Obviously, the children are a LOT more intelligent than the mother. What she is doing is creating resentment, which frequently leads to exactly what is being advocated against.

Prosecutors later decided not to pursue the case.

Well, wasn’t that nice of them. However, the damage has been done to the child, and future friendships. Kids don’t care about color, or race. They can be rude, but they get over it quickly. It’s the so called grownups who make issues of the innocent who cause more damage that words. If the kids are bullying, that’s one thing. Otherwise, leave them the hell alone and let them be kids!

Congress Loads Bill With $277 Million in ‘Pork,’ Watchdog Group Says

The House of Representatives tucked $277.9 million worth of earmarks – items in a spending bill usually designated for a congressman’s district or state – into the appropriations bill it passed before the July 4 break.

That number is a 122 percent increase over the amount spent on earmarks in last year’s bill, according to the watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW).

They just don’t give a happy crap, do they! Queen Moonbat LIED when she said it would be the most “ethical Congress ever”. I see NOTHING ethical about they way they spend OUR money!

The appropriations bill in question is the Fiscal 2009 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act, or simply Labor/HHS. “In typical Congressional fashion, the Labor/HHS bill is loaded with pork projects and wasteful spending from both Democrats and Republicans,” the CAGW said in its release.

Why should anyone be surprised that BOTH parties are screwing us?

But Dave Helfert, press secretary for CAGW’s top “porker,” i.e., earmark spender, Rep. Neal Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) – who had more dollars earmarked for himself than any other member in Congress – said that CAGW’s earmark assessment missed the mark.

“We welcome the praise,” said Helfert, responding to CAGW’s charge that Abercrombie was the top spender. “It’s hardly anything to be ashamed of.”

Is he freakin’ SH*TTIN’ me???? They should ALL be ashamed of their careless disregard of the US taxpayer! What an unbelievable a$$hole!!

Unlike other budget items, earmarks are not requested from specific government agencies and presented in a hearing before a congressional committee. That means they might not receive the scrutiny that the more traditional expenditures receive.

Every single dime these weasels put into a bill, ANY bill, should be scrutinized. EVERY dime! They have gotten away with this type of crap for so long, they just laugh at us when we point out it’s not THEIR money.

The top three CAGW “porkers” were Abercrombie, with $168.5 million; Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), with $161.3 million; and Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.), with $148.5 million.

Oh, now there’s a shocker. (insert massive sarcasm here) The top 3 are Dhimmis, to the tune of FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY EIGHT POINT THREE MILLION DOLLARS ($478.3 million). That, of course, does NOT excuse the Pubbies who also inserted their little projects into the bill.

Among the earmarks highlighted by CAGW were the following:

– $25 million by 30 House members for the National Writing Project, which the Department of Education (DoE) did not request because $3 billion already exists to improve the writing skills of teachers.

If a teacher doesn’t know how to write, he/she shouldn’t be a flippin’ teacher!

– $175,000 by Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Ca.), Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-Ca.), and Mary Bono (R-Ca.) for the Autry National Center for the American West, which “explores the experiences and perceptions of the diverse peoples of the American West,” according to its Web site.

This sounds like something that should be a private funding enterprise, not what MY tax dollars should support.

– $150,000 by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) for the American Ballet Theatre in New York for “educational activities.” The American Ballet Theatre has already received $28 million from private fundraising.

Uh….NO. This too is a private enterprise. Unless every child in the US is going to benefit from taking ballet lessons in NY, I don’t think I need to support them.

– $100,000 by House appropriator Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) for the Toledo GROWS High School Garden Learning Initiative, a “community gardening outreach program.”

Stick a seed in the ground, water it, and see if it grows. Wouldn’t this be a biology class in the real world?

I will repeat myself here: Wipe the slate clean! Vote against every single incumbent that is up for re-election! I don’t give a flip which party initial they have behind their name. Do this often enough, we just MIGHT take back control of our country, and OUR money!

Makes Perfect Sense…..

….if you live in an urban area. However, for those of us who live out in the boonies, not so much. But ain’t it cute?

Come to think of it, the guy ain’t so bad either. :) Hey, I’m married, and old, not dead!

New law will give tiny cars big push in Tennessee

Murray Huber motors around his Franklin neighborhood on weekends in his electric car to run errands or make quick trips.

Until recently, state law limited his mini Hummer H3 — and other entries in a class of cars known as the neighborhood electric vehicle — to 25 mph. Plus, he could travel only on roads with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less.

When you live out in rural Tennessee, there is no such thing as a “quick trip”….anywhere. It’s a 10 mile drive to a decent grocery store, and the speed limit for most of those 10 miles is WAY above 35.

The wait is over. Thanks to a law that kicked in on July 1, medium-speed electric- or gasoline-powered vehicles with four wheels can travel up to 35 mph, and can use roads where the speed limit is 40. Golf carts are excluded.

Nope. Still wouldn’t work for us. The minimum speed limit is 45, but only for a short chunk of road. If we tried pulling out on TN 69 in one of those rolling tin cans, we’d be creamed! Assuming that anyone ever does the posted speed limit of course, which they don’t.

“These vehicles are economical to buy and economical to operate,” said state Rep. Glen Casada, who co-sponsored a bill with a fellow Franklin Republican, state Sen. Jack Johnson. “This is something that Tennessee needs to recognize.”

It really is a good idea….for urban areas. Now, if they come up with one that’ll do a good 60mph, we might talk. Otherwise, the only thing we could use it for is driving the quarter mile to church.

The electric vehicles range in price from about $7,000 to $17,000, depending on the add-on features. To operate on the road, they must meet federal safety standards that require headlights and taillights, turn signals, seat belts, a rearview mirror, a parking brake and a windshield.

Add on features? You mean like a brake pedal, a steering wheel? Things like that? Heh.

Nashville native Josh Womack, who plans to sell the vehicles, said they run on electricity stored in a battery. “You plug them into a standard house power outlet and let them charge,” Womack said. “There’s no carburetor, no alternator, no radiator.”

Peachy. But how much is it going to raise your electric bill? Where does THAT energy originate? Some folks might get a tad annoyed if their bill doubles or triples just to do a “feel good” thing, and impress the neighbors by just how much they “care”.

Womack said he had received a number of inquiries from interested residents since word of his company spread and since the law passed. He plans to sell four lines of electric cars, including the Zenn car — Zero Emissions No Noise — made by Zenn Motor Co. of Canada. The XG he drives can seat four and costs $10,000 to $14,000, depending on options.

And to think, our first family car cost my dad $495 dollars……right after WWII. :? We had that thing in the family for 35 years. Wonder how long these little babies will last….assuming they don’t get run over by a VW.

The vehicles will change the way people get around, he said.

“You can’t take it on the interstate, but you can take it all around your neighborhood all in ways you never could before,” Womack said.

You could also use your feet and a cart on wheels. :)

Seriously, like I said, it sounds like a good idea, for urban areas. But if you tried to get around in one of them around these parts….a four wheel drive pick ‘em up would have you as a hood ornament.

Suicide bomber kills 41 in Kabul

A suicide bomb exploded Monday on a crowded street near the Indian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, killing at least 41 people and injuring 140, officials said.

Officials said the bomber rammed a car into two Indian diplomatic vehicles as they entered the gates of the embassy in one of the deadliest attacks on the Afghan capital, The New York Times reported.

So, what has India done lately to piss off the lunatics?

G-8 faces setbacks to U.N. goals

“Even before the price increases, there was already doubt about the achievability of the MDGs and whether we were on a path to meet them,” Mr. Strauss-Kahn told reporters last week. “But now the problem is much more important and the ability to reach the MDGs is even lower.”

The IMF chief was referring to soaring food and energy prices, which have eroded the hopes of international financial researchers and private aid groups to reach eight global development and economic goals by the target date of 2015.

I hate to sound negative here, but there will always be poor people. Given the current world situation, there will continue to be starving poor people. The Useless Numnuts are never going to solve that problem until they stop propping the bad guys. And I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

G8 leaders feast on 13 courses after discussing world food shortages

Organisers of the G8 summit have proudly displayed the menu for a sumptuous eight-course banquet enjoyed by world leaders meeting to discuss international food shortages.

Only 24 hours after Gordon Brown urged people not to waste food, and with the summit dominated by fears of global shortages, leading statesmen were treated to smoked salmon and kyoto beef – hours after enjoying a five-course lunch.

Several African leaders were at the table as the need for their continent to double its food production ranked highly at the summit.

This kind of crap just chaps my hide! Those at the “top” can bitch and whine about the poor folks, but never once stop to think how many people they could feed with the price of all that lavish stuff! Some bunny food, a main course, and Jello would work just fine for these weasels. And yeah, I’m including Bush in that bunch!

Iowa worker raid sparks debate on making of kosher food

Scores of heavily armed federal agents in May stormed into Agriprocessors, which produces up to 70 percent of all kosher meat in America. The feds seized almost 400 of the plant’s 900 workers in the largest single roundup of illegal immigrants to date, charging about 300 of them with identity theft and using stolen Social Security cards.

Some of those workers have since sued the company, alleging abuse, fraud and sexual coercion. Postville, which once sold T-shirts boasting of the peaceful coexistence of its many cultures, has been left “absolutely shattered,” said Rev. Paul Ouderkirk of the town’s St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.

Two supervisors at the Agriprocessors plant were arrested Thursday. Juan Carlos Guerrero-Espinoza, 35, and Martin De La Rosa-Loera, 43, are charged with encouraging illegal immigrants to reside in the U.S. and aiding and abetting the possession and use of fraudulent identification. Guerrero-Espinoza also faces a charge of aiding and abetting aggravated identity theft.

I have to ask: Why do folks who keep kosher rely so heavily on just one plant? Wrong was done here, and those who are responsible should be punished. The company itself is also responsible for assuming these two piles were working in the companies best interest, and not having anyone actually CHECK the status of the hirees. I’m not even going to mention the obvious.

Iraq’s al-Maliki wants short-term US agreement

Zebari said the U.S. had agreed to drop immunity for private contractors and give up control of Iraqi air space if the Iraqis guaranteed they could protect the country’s skies with their limited air force.

But those concessions, which were never confirmed by the U.S., were apparently not enough to cement a formal agreement, leading Iraq to pursue the memorandum announced Monday.

The Iraqi government’s decision to push the U.S. for a less formal agreement comes at a time when the government feels increasingly confident about its authority and improved stability in the country.

Well, that’s just peachy! Even though there has been a great deal of progress made, I don’t see the Iraqi gubmint as quite strong enough to withstand a whole lot of upheaval when it comes after our troops are gone. But hey, if they want us gone, I say yank ‘em now, and send them to Afghanistan. Get that pipeline open, and we’ll send ya the bill.

Social Security, Medicare Will Cost $41 Trillion More than Available

The June report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said that the “unfunded liabilities” – or future planned costs for which funding has not been set aside by Congress – for Social Security alone in the next 75 years will exceed $7 trillion.

“One would need approximately $41 trillion invested today to deliver on the currently promised benefits not covered by earmarked revenues for the next 75 years,” the report said.

Trillions of dollars will need to be raised, either through new taxes or in spending cuts.

Actually, letting people invest THEIR money makes a whole lot more sense. SS was never intended to support people when they retired, it was to be a supplement. Raising taxes is NOT the answer, although cutting some of those pet projects might help…a bit.

Democrats seeking Lamar Alexander’s seat battle for recognition

“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we’ve got a Lamar problem,” candidate Bob Tuke, former chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party, told the crowd at the Williamson County Democrats’ summer picnic Saturday night, where he and two of his primary opponents made their campaign pitch over barbecue and lemonade. “Lamar Alexander is a person who obviously is well entrenched in Washington. … He doesn’t understand the people of Tennessee, he’s not been in Tennessee for a long time.”

Well, he’s got one thing right, we DO have a Lamar problem. Although what that seat needs is a REAL conservative, not a Dhimmi! And since when do they care how long someone has lived in a state? The name Clinton comes to mind.

Report: The End of the Internet Is Near

The reason? More than 85% of the available addresses have already been allocated and the OECD predicts we will have run out completely by early 2011.

These aren’t the normal web addresses you type into your browser’s window, and which were recently freed up by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the body responsible for allocating domain names, to allow thousands of new internet domains ending in, for instance, .newyork, .london or .xxx.

Beneath those names lie numerical Internet protocol addresses that denote individual devices connected to the internet. These form the foundation for all online communications, from e-mail and web pages to voice chat and streaming video.

Whut? They can’t come up with bigger numbers? Ok, admittedly, I have no idea how it works, but it does seem kind of odd that there wouldn’t be a simple solution.

President Ahmadinejad: US, Israel not dare attack Iran

“Not only the US and Israel, but a hundred others like them cannot attack Iran and they know it themselves,” President Ahmadinejad stressed.

He added that US President George W. Bush “has had and still has many satanic and inhuman wishes including confrontation with Iran but none of his wishes have come true.

“They know the Iranian nation and are aware that they cannot talk to us with the language of force and threats. They must give in to the will of the Iranian nation.”

Uh….I don’t bloody well think so! Ahmabooboo needs to step away from the hookah!

Latino Vote Is in Play in Presidential Contest

Mr. Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, and Mr. McCain, the Republican, will deliver speeches tomorrow at the League of United Latin American Citizens’ conference in Washington. Both men will go to San Diego to address a meeting of the National Council of La Raza early next week. The two candidates also spoke last week before the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.

No offense, but shouldn’t they be courting the AMERICAN vote? I wasn’t aware that anyone other than US citizens could vote!

Hamas Slams US Bill to Outlaw Al Aqsa Satellite TV

The management of the Gaza-based Al Aqsa satellite television channel is displeased with the U.S. Congress over an initiative to declare its station a “specially designated global terrorist network,” along with four other similar media outlets.

Al Aqsa satellite TV is controlled by the Hamas terrorist organization, which appears on the United States list of terrorist entities.

The station’s general manager, Fatkhi Hamad, slammed the bill, saying it was “intended to stifle the free voice which exposes the American and Zionist actions in the Arab and Muslim region.”

Actually, it speaks more of the content than anything a US Congressman could say. Murderous rodents? Pushing children to kill? I’d say that speaks VOLUMES about the society that watches, and produces such garbage.

Crude futures fall 3% on rising dollar, Iran talk

“I think you’re seeing a massive commodity liquidation today off the heels of a strong dollar and some general profit-taking after yet another big commodity month in June,” said Zachary Oxman, a senior trader at Wisdom Financial.

“I’d be watching for some short-term continuation to the downside followed by a bounce back into the long commodity trend,” Oxman said.

Who knows, maybe the idea that we just MIGHT drill our own oil has had a smidge of effect too? :) Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. Simple concept. While it might not be all the answers, it sure would go a long way to put a crimp in the prices while researchers get serious about viable alternatives.

Militia attack Zimbabwe displaced

At least eight of those attacked in Ruwa were taken to hospital and about 14 people – mostly from a patrol that camp occupants had organised to maintain security – were missing, the witness said.

About 400 people have been sheltering in local squash courts in Ruwa after being moved on from the South African embassy.

Instead of constantly pounding on Bush, why don’t the Code Pinko types start obsessing about REAL atrocities?
