An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Why? Because They SUCK, That’s Why!
The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.
How would you rate the way Congress is doing its job?
Excellent 2%
Good 7%
Fair 36%
Poor 52%
You mean to tell me there is at least one person in this country who thinks this Congress is doing an “excellent” job? Call out the guys with the nets, cuz someone has escaped from the loony bin!
The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month. The number of Democrats who give Congress a poor rating remained unchanged. Among Republicans, 8% give Congress good or excellent ratings, up just a point from last month. Sixty-five percent (65%) of GOP voters say Congress is doing a poor job, down a single point from last month.
You’ve got to notice something….ANYTHING….when even your own party members think you suck! And I’d like to have a little chat with those Pubbies in that 8% category. Have y’all been awake for the last 18 months?
Just 12% of voters think Congress has passed any legislation to improve life in this country over the past six months. That number has ranged from 11% to 13% throughout 2008. The majority of voters (62%) say Congress has not passed any legislation to improve life in America.
Wait a minute? Did they actually DO something? When? Where was I? Oh…wait a minute, they did raise the minimum wage didn’t they, and in the process, raised the prices of services and goods. Way to go!
Voters hold little positive sentiment about the future. Just 41% find it at least somewhat likely that Congress will address important problems facing our nation in the near future, while 55% find this unlikely.
This particular Congress?
Not a snowball’s chance! They are all too busy bashing the President, the troops, the country, and running for re-election to actually do their freakin’ jobs!
I’m tellin’ ya! Vote against every single incumbent on the ballot come November! EVERY SINGLE ONE!
H/T: No Silence Here

I think Americans are confused. They don’t know what they are for or what they are against so they just want “change.”
I only suggest that we think through what kind of change we really want. Otherwise we may actually undergo the shock of a Barack Obama Presidency, and THAT would not be good!

@ThirstyJon:
Oh yeah….there’s a change for ya….a couple of years of not so great, to down right dangerous. sigh….
