Chgo Trib’s ‘Honor Killing’ Report Omits Islam Connection
OK, I am wondering here if the hanging of a black Southerner by the KKK in the American south would be reported by the Chicago Tribune in the same kind of vague language of “cultural” murder as a recent Muslim murder in Georgia was treated? More likely, of course, the story would be immediately pegged to the racist, white motives that actually led to the murder. In essence that is how the Chicago Tribune mishandled their reporting of another so-called Islamic “honor killing” that occurred in Georgia this week.
Heartbreak in Liberal Land: Obama Votes for FISA Bill
Unless Obama does a last minute flip-flop (again), he is set to break the hearts of his far left support base:
The Senate is finally expected to wrap up the bill updating the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act today, which includes the controversial provision of retroactive immunity for telecom companies facing lawsuit. While the bill splits Democrats, it’s expected to pass with united Republican support.
Obama will be back for today’s vote and has said he’ll support final passage.
ACLU Blog Meltdown: Losing Faith in the Soul Sucking Senate
Amanda Simon explains the disappointment at the ACLU Blog.
After the amendments were effectively killed – along with any possible hope of court review of the president’s illegal and unconstitutional domestic spying program (can’t say that enough) – the votes for final passage were counted.
The votes were cast and so was the dye. Final count: 69 to 28.
I can only say it’s been emotional. This isn’t the last you’ll be hearing from the ACLU on this subject — in fact, far from it. Keep an eye on this space for our continued and tireless work protecting the Fourth Amendment (and all the other ones, too, come to think of it).
Don’t ya just love it when the lefties, communists, etc…..wait…I’m repeating myself…. have “issues”.
