Just Some Thoughts
I was doing some snooping and came across two items that I thought might be of interest considering today’s price per gallon of gas.
First, I found this from CNNMoney.com dated 30 August 2006:
Gas may be headed back near $2
The recent drop in prices at the pump could pick up steam, driving gasoline sharply lower in coming months.
“I’d say $2 to $2.50,” said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service. “Once you get past Sept. 15, it’s really a downhill game.”
Kloza said so far the average cost of a gallon of gas peaked this year at $3.036 on Aug. 10 and has come down largely thanks to diminishing hurricane fears.
Also while perusing, I came across this really interesting tidbit at Enter State Right, dated 24 July 2000:
Bozell noted that “The role of the EPA under Al Gore ally Carol Browner has been known in the Midwest for weeks. Local talk show hosts had been lamenting the arrival of ‘Gore gas.’ By mid-June, as gas prices threatened to become a campaign issue, the Clinton-Gore administration went into damage control mode, insisting that the EPA’s rules had minute costs, and that this price increase was in fact a dastardly plot by Big Oil to exploit the summer driving season. Did the press fall for it? Hook, line and sinker. Rich Noyes of the Free Market Project did the simple math. From then through the end of the month, the networks aired a grand total of two stories on EPA regulations while devoting 16 reports promoting the administration’s position that private-sector ‘price gauging’ and ‘profiteering’ were at fault.”
(…)
The Gore campaign is, of course, now pointing to George W. Bush’s ties to Big Oil. As Ms. Mostert notes, “Thanks to Bill Clinton and Al Gore there’s been a near eight year moratorium on the development of oil and coal resources. Increasingly, we are dependent on foreign sources, which of course increases the prices.”
On July 6th, Ms. Mostert returned to this theme, noting that Al Gore’s web site boasts that “Since his time in the Senate, Gore has been recognized as a leader on energy policy and the environment.” The site quotes his spokesman, Douglas Hattaway, who takes a shot at George W. Bush, as a “Texas oil man (who) favors higher energy prices for consumers.” Here is the Nazi Big Lie process in full throat. Bush is accused of favoring “big oil at the expense of cheaper, cleaner forms of energy.”
The average price per gallon in 2000 was $1.51.
Now, if you’ll notice, the price from 2000 to 2006, with a Pubbie controlled Congress, rose about .50, right? Well, considering during those particular six years, we got attacked, got involved in two wars, one definitely justified and the other I question frequently. From 2006 to now, 2008, the price per gallon has doubled. In case you’ve forgotten, we have a Democrat controlled Congress. Is there a connection the country has been going to hell in a hand basket since the Dhimmi takeover at the beginning of 2007? Well, I wouldn’t say there is 100% connection, but I sure would say there is some.
The Boracle’s meddling hasn’t stopped. Question: What do you think the prices would have been if he had, Heaven forbid, actually won in 2000? Which he didn’t, no matter what the raving lefties want to think.
I’m pretty sure, and I’m no expert here, that if the government got the hell out of the way, we’d see immediate relief. Granted, it wouldn’t be to the extent we’d all like to see. Personally, I remember the “gas wars” real well. It was great. I had a ’65 Buick La Sabre with a gas tank the size of an Olympic sized swimming pool. A dollar’s worth of gas, and I was good to go for a REAL long time, back and forth to school, running the roads with my buds, etc.
I’m just thinking off the top of my head here, don’t you think that we, THE PEOPLE, have a good case AGAINST the U.S. Congress for violation of some of our rights? Well, a LOT of our rights when it comes right down to it, but “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” comes to mind. Oh, and there’s that “involuntary servitude” business. As best I can figure, the American people have been in ‘servitude’ of the gubmint for quite a while now.
How about some criminal offense? U.S. Citizens VS U.S Government: charges of reckless homicide? How many citizens have died because they’ve failed to do their job, and protect our borders? Complicit in child abuse? Aiding and abetting type thing?
There are numerous ways the gubmint has abused it’s power, and we the people have had to pay the price, in more ways than one or two.
Just thinking “out loud”. I’m going to watch Saving Grace now.
Accurate
Five USA Surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients on which to operate.
The first, an Nevada surgeon says, “I like to see accountants on my operating table. When you open them up, everything inside is numbered.”
The second, a Colorado surgeon responds, “Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color-coded.”
The third, a Washington D.C. surgeon ,says, “No, I really think librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order.”
The fourth, a New York surgeon, chimes in: “You know, I like construction workers…those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over.”
But the fifth, a Montana surgeon, shut them all up when he observed:”You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest on which to operate. There’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the ass are interchangeable.”

Nope, No Bias Here
If you do a Google search of “Republican scandals” and then “Democrat scandals” You come up with a vastly different number of results.
On the Republican side, you get 292,000. For the Democrats, the number is 1,600,000. Now, a scandal is a scandal, no matter which party the the perpetrator belongs to. A person holding public office, or doing the work “of the people” should be above reproach. Yeah, I agree, they are still human, although sometimes I think the longer they work in the gubmint sector, the less human they are, and the more deified they become. Pfft! They ALL still use toilet paper, so to speak.
But don’t ya find it just wee bit interesting that even though Democrat scandals outnumber the Republican ones, the media covers those on the ‘right’ like it was the end of the world as we know it, yet barely skirt those on the Dem side?
ONE Language Will Unite Us
Whatever happened to English?
James E. Lambert
It’s not uncommon these days for Americans to walk into their local stores and find employees who aren’t able to help them because the employees can’t speak English. This happened to me recently at three different California businesses — WalMart (Vista), Vons Supermarket (Mammoth Lakes), and Albertsons (San Diego).
I cannot understand why an employer would knowingly hire an employee who has customer contact yet cannot speak our language. This just doesn’t make sense. Are we in Mexico, or the United States?
Only in America would the government go out of its way to try to appease everyone — including millions who are here illegally. These same politicians block legislation that favors English as our national language. Why is it so difficult for politicos in Washington (particularly those in the Democratic Party) to endorse English as our national language?

Sudanese President Accused of Genocide
The prosecutor at the International Criminal Court on Monday formally requested an arrest warrant for Sudan’s president, Omar Hassan al-Bashir, on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity committed during the last five years of bloodshed in his country’s Darfur region.
Announcing the request, the prosecutor, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, said that Mr. Bashir “masterminded and implemented” a plan to destroy the three main ethnic groups in Darfur, the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa.
“His motives were largely political,” the prosecutor said. “His alibi was a ‘counterinsurgency. His intent was genocide.”
Y’think? I’m going to venture a guess, and say it was a lot more than just “political”.
Three admit Parliament bomb plan
Three men accused of plotting a series of suicide attacks on transatlantic jets that would have killed thousands have admitted they planned to set off an explosion at the Houses of Parliament.
They claim a small explosion at the Houses of Parliament in which no one would be hurt would act as a publicity stunt to draw attention to a film they were planning to make.
So, they were making plans to murder thousands of people, but that’s ok, cuz that little explosion at Parliament wouldn’t hurt anybody. Does anyone else see a major contradiction here?
Smith told Bredesen that she was “grossly disappointed” that “individuals who affiliate with the Tennessee Democratic Party have chosen to attack my role as a Human Rights Commissioner rather than deal directly with the issues in question – the qualifications of and statements made by Sen. Barack Obama and his campaign.”
“The shrill cry of ‘racism’ has been leveled against me,” she wrote, adding that her children, including a son who has a black person as his best friend, were unsettled by the situation.
Gracious sakes. She used his LEGAL middle name, so she MUST be a racist! (insert massive dripping sarcasm here) The man is not qualified, under any circumstances. His color and middle name have nothing to do with it. If he is so ashamed of his name, why doesn’t he throw THAT under the bus too!
Patrick vetoes $122.5m in budget
Governor Deval Patrick took his veto pen to the state budget yesterday, striking $122.5 million in spending on lawmakers’ pet projects, while asking the Legislature for expanded power to make midyear cuts to state services if needed.
Faced with the prospect of diminished tax collections as a result of the sour economy, Patrick cut three times more from the 2009 fiscal budget than he did the previous year.
If a governor of a very lefty state can figure this out, why can’t the morons in D.C.? It’s not that complicated!
Environmental Bills Called Pretext to Loosen Border Security
Open-border advocates operating under the guise of environmentalism are prepared to push for legislation that could result in an accelerated flow of illegal immigration, drug smuggling, and human trafficking from Mexico into Arizona, according to law enforcement experts familiar with the terrain.
The two bills, sponsored by Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), would restrict federal and state law enforcement officials from patrolling an already porous border area that extends from Sonora, Mexico into Santa Cruz County, Ariz., critics charge.
However, some members of Congress and environmental activists maintain the legislation would provide for greater flexibility in enforcing the border while safeguarding natural treasures.
What a flippin’ joke! Have you seen the “environmental” disaster those pigs leave behind? Those weasels in Congress don’t give a tinkers damn about ‘national treasures’.
Mexican Hitmen Offer Services Online
Between listings offering gas fitters and modelling agencies, a post reads: “Gun for Hire – $6,000. Professional. International. Discretion guaranteed”.
Another reads: “former soldier with 10 years experience in the private sector, very professional and discreet”.
A hitman called Jorge leads with: “Problems with someone? Would you like a solution? Write to me. 100% professional – we do not charge an advance”.
As drug cartels and organised crime gangs step up their tit-for-tat murders by leaving bodies and severed heads in Mexico City streets, police are taking these ads seriously.
At least 1,700 people have been killed this year in the battle between warring cartels and the raids by soldiers and federal police sent out to stop them.
And this is the sort of “culture” our feckless gubmint wants to import? Don’t we have enough problems of our own without letting it in with the open borders bunch’s blessing?
EU protests east Jerusalem construction
Israeli plans to build nearly 900 homes in east Jerusalem undermine the credibility of peace talks with the Palestinians, the European Union said Monday.
The 27-nation bloc said the decision last month to build new homes was illegal under international law.
“This decision serves to undermine the credibility of the ongoing diplomatic process,” the EU said in a statement.
I really have to ask: What business is it of the EU, or anyone else for that matter, where and when Israel builds anything?
Obama Tells Teachers Union He Opposes Vouchers
Senator Obama is saying decisively that he does not support private school vouchers, while sticking with his support for incentive pay for teachers based on their students’ performance.
Mr. Obama made the remarks yesterday in a telecast speech to the American Federation of Teachers’ national convention in Chicago after the union voted overwhelmingly to endorse his presidential bid.
So, B. Hussein is still of the mind that it’s ok for you to pay taxes that support the schooling of other people’s kids, but not receive vouchers for the (basically a return of some of you own money) for your child’s education. Something seems a mite hinky here? hmmm….. Oh, I get it! If you pulled your kids out of the public school system so they could get a better education, there would be public school teachers out of a job! Wouldn’t want the unions getting their knickers in a twist, now would we. (sarcasm) Union=Communism
Fuel-law proposal supported by Blackburn igniting debate
“The greenhouse gas emissions from biofuels can be 10 times worse than gasoline,” said Friends of the Earth spokesman Kate McMahon. “This doesn’t make sense.”
Blackburn supports a one-sentence bill (H.R. 5656) that would delete the prohibition from the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. The deletion would allow the U.S. Air Force to contract for alternative fuels at a time when the mission of the huge, new C-5A transports flying out of Memphis International Airport are constrained by higher jet fuel prices, she says.
Wait a minute! I thought the environazis were PUSHING biofuels? Now they don’t want ‘em? Seriously, these people need to get their act together! And just what is wrong with the Air Force having and using an alternative fuel source? It just might save MS McMahon’s sorry life some day!

Bush to Lift Executive Ban on Offshore Oil Drilling
The White House says President Bush is planning to lift an executive ban on offshore oil drilling.
In a Rose Garden statement on Monday, the president plans to lift the ban. But by itself, the move will not lead to more drilling off America’s coastline.
Congress must still lift its own legislative ban before offshore drilling can happen.
White House press secretary Dana Perino says Bush is acting now in hopes of spurring Congress to act. So far, lawmakers have shown no interest in doing so.
What took him so long? To quote the Mr: He’s been painted by the PC brush a bit too often.
“Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged” – Matthew 7:1
The Westboro Baptist “church” has stated their intention to picket the funeral of Tony Snow. Now, as much as I find these creatures loathsome, distorting the Word of God, the 1st Amendment does grant them freedom of religion and speech. It does NOT, however, give them the freedom to cause grievous harm to him family and friends.
Stop the ACLU has video, which I refuse to post. I’m not going to give these Truth distorters a platform!

Verse of the Day
Zephaniah 3:5-8
5 The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
6 I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
