I read about a horrifying crime in the Pittsburgh Tribune:
Body discovery in Wilkinsburg deepens baby mystery
Authorities found a body Friday inside the foul-smelling, fly-infested apartment of a Wilkinsburg woman who showed up at a Pittsburgh hospital this week with a newborn baby who isn’t hers.
A body of a black woman was found facedown in a third-floor bedroom with hands duct-taped behind her back, said Wilkinsburg police Chief Ophelia “Cookie” Coleman.
Allegheny County Medical Examiner Dr. Karl E. Williams said last night he saw blood around the body, but he could not determine if the woman had given birth recently. The woman had been dead for at least 24 hours. Authorities were working last night to identify the body. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
We have a baby, a dead body, and a raving lunatic. Now, what makes this story even more horrifying is this:

Andrea Curry-Demus suffered at least three miscarriages and was desperate for a baby.
During the past two decades, she stabbed a woman in a failed attempt to steal her infant and kidnapped a baby girl from a Pittsburgh hospital, court records show. This week she told police she bought a baby boy from a woman she barely knew.
But police Friday recovered the body of a woman, found face down with her hands bound with duct tape, inside the Wilkinsburg apartment where Curry-Demus, 38, lived. The baby, who was unharmed, will be released to the custody of the Allegheny County Department of Children, Youth and Families.
Outside Curry-Demus’ third-floor apartment Friday, a foul, pungent odor filled the hallway and flies swarmed behind the screen of an open front window. The odor wafted to the street below.
This….woman….has stabbed another woman, has kidnapped a baby, and yet she is free to take another child, to pass off as her own, and possible (likely) murdered another woman? Excuse me for my ignorance….BUT JUST WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE DOING OUT OF PRISON? She should have at least been put in an insane asylum, because obviously, she is crazy as a loon. Yes, I said INSANE asylum. I realize that’s not PC, but neither is allowing a serious danger to roam the streets!
A neighbor, Taylor Hall, 19, who lives in the apartment beneath Curry-Demus, said he didn’t think to call anyone about the odor.
“This is the ghetto. Something always smells around here,” he said.
Excuse me while I pick my chin up off the floor! So, because it’s the “ghetto”, it’s ok for people to not give a happy crap. Well, why do you think it’s become a “ghetto”? Because people like this guy don’t care about their homes and neighborhoods. Is that racist? Don’t care! It’s the truth. It doesn’t matter what color you are, if you turn your home into a garbage dump, you are a part of the problem!
A dispatcher told a reporter who called 911, suspecting a body inside, that police would check the apartment. For several hours, however, no officer responded to the call.
Wilkinsburg police Chief Ophelia Coleman said at a news conference that police had already checked the building.
“We searched the apartment, and it didn’t look like anyone had been there for a few days,” Coleman said. “Nothing was out of place, and there was nothing to lead us to believe anything violent happened there, or that a birth happened there.”
After officers recovered the body, Coleman said they had not searched Curry-Demus’ apartment the night before, but had visited that building.
Ok, pardon my confusion. A woman walks into a hospital with a baby that is not hers, the hospital notifies the police. Check. The police take the woman into custody. Check. They sure the woman’s home and find no body. Hmmm…. Well, they didn’t check the crazy woman’s home. Why is that? Wouldn’t that be the first place you’d look? Am I reading this wrong, or are the Pittsburgh police so utterly incompetent that they overlook the suspect own apartment? They visited the building? That’s it?
I have a great deal of sympathy for woman who can’t have children, yet so desperately want them. That being said, when you have a woman who is obviously violent, and will do whatever she can to have a baby of her own, you do NOT let them out on the streets. Parole? What a joke! Probation for such a crime? More lunacy.
Am I being judgmental? Quite possibly. However, the safety of the general public, and new mothers takes precedence. And I will NOT apologize!

And that right there is the crux of the problem. And people can plant tree’s and paint over the graffiti all they want but until people decide they want to live like humans and not like cockroaches….the problem will always exist.
When I lived in a 8 unit complex with my husband, 6 of the other units housed over 50 illegal aliens from Russia, Mexico and Guatemala. I used to plant flowers, clean up the beer bottles, broken glass, diapers, trash bags dog crap etc.. every day. Until the cheap rent and close proximity to the beach just couldn’t compensate for living in the “ghetto”.
No matter how hard I worked to clean it and make the place look nice, the others would work twice as hard to revert it back to a crap hole. Some “humans” in this world have no pride of home, no pride at all. They just choose to exist and not to the betterment of anything anyone or anyplace.
And in fact…..when one of them died (of a drug overdose)….it was to me, the “pinje Americano” that they turned to call 9/11 because they didn’t want to get deported. They thought nothing of throwing the phone at me and running when one of their own was dying.
So it’s not surprising that this crazed woman didn’t get help.. no one probably gave a crap about her, not that I am excusing her. People there don’t care about anyone but themselves. I may sound cold, but I lived there for 4 years and I’ve lived in places worse….Until these people change and want to live a better life.. then women like this will exist….just another statistic, just another sick woman who didn’t even know she could get help. And now a mother is dead….

I’m so fed up! All those illegals are bringing “culture” of crime and trash with them from the south. We’ve been to Mexico many times and it looks a WHOLE lot like the Mexican areas of ANY city.
And then you have the “YOU owe ME’ bunch. For what? Seems to me every American citizen have the same opportunities to better their lives. We all have choices to make in life, and it damn sure isn’t my fault if someone makes the wrong choices. I’ve had to work my way out of bad situations a few times in my life, and I’m just fine. There are so many resources out there to help people, they’re occasionally redundant.
