Gores to host fundraiser for Obama

Talks are under way for former Vice President Al Gore to host a Nashville fundraiser for the presumptive Democratic nominee, Barack Obama.

Kalee Kreider, a spokeswoman for Gore, confirmed Tuesday that Al and Tipper Gore have agreed to host a fundraiser for the Obama campaign.

The date and location have not been set, and it’s not even clear whether Obama himself would be present. Melanie Roussell, a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign, declined to comment.

Hmmm….interesting. Some big deal Dhimmicrat holds a fundraiser for ya, and ya might not even show up?

Gore endorsed Obama in mid-June, flying to Detroit to throw his support behind the Illinois senator at a rally. News of the fundraiser could help rally Tennessee Democrats, who have not seen Obama publicly here since June 2007.

(I wonder what the “carbon footprint” was on that little trip?) It makes you wonder if B. Hussein is writing off Tennessee as a loss, if he hasn’t bothered to visit the state in more than a year. P’aps us ol’ hicks jus’ ain’t impo’tn ‘nuf. Hey, fine with me! :P

Tennessee Democrats were pleased with the news. Wade Munday, a spokesman for the Tennessee Democratic Party, said “we would certainly welcome the senator with open arms should he arrive in Nashville before the October debate” at Belmont University.

Oh, no doubt the local far left Dhimmis will be happy to lap up the B. Hussein and Boracle pablum. How many ordinary, every day Democrats will be able to afford to attend this proposed event?

The appearance could provide fodder as well for the Tennessee Republican Party, which mocked Michelle Obama, the senator’s wife, in a video when she came to Tennessee in May for a private fundraiser.

Mocked? I beg your pardon…..MOCKED? How do you mock a person with her own words? You can point out the absurdity, but she mocked the nation, and it’s citizens. Excellent video!

That video led to a rebuke from Obama, who scolded the Tennessee GOP on national television.

Yeah, summarily ‘rebuked’ by B. Hussein Obama. Pfft! If he doesn’t want his wife taken to task for her comments, perhaps she shouldn’t have made said comments in public, stumping for him.

Bill Hobbs, a spokesman for the Tennessee Republican Party, doubted that an Obama appearance would make much difference for the campaign here, saying that Obama “can fire up the liberals, as we know, but he’s just not very popular in Tennessee with rank and file Democrats.”

Thankfully, a good chunk of TN Dems are a lot smarter than the the far left branch of the party, which include their candidate.

“It’ll be interesting to see if he even remembers how to get to Tennessee,” Hobbs said.

Heh. Love that Bill Hobbs! :)
