An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
Afternoon In The Hardin County OVEN
I had to go to court this afternoon. No, I didn’t get a ticket, I don’t have any charges against me, nothing like that. I had to go this time because the last time I was there for the same reason, the case was “continued”. I sat there for a an hour and a half, listening to the various juvenile offenders plead guilty, or not guilty, a dad pleading for his young son to not be sent to “juvie jail”, who evidently had quite a long list of B & E’s, and vandalism charges. Quite an experience. I had no idea there were so many “delinquents” in the vicinity. Silly me!
Well, I sat there, watching the folks, and I think there were some of the sames ones who were the last time I was there. I think they were wearing the same clothes, too. And they hadn’t been washed. Doesn’t anyone dress for the environment anymore? Yes, I have a serious issue with people wearing ripped t-shirts and ragged cut off jeans into a court room. Kind of like you don’t wear your Packer sweatshirt to a funeral. I also understand that not everyone has the money to buy dress up clothes they’ll only wear when it court. However, I’m fairly sure they must have at least clean britches and shirts. Come to think of it, there were a few who should probably invest in clothes specified for court, cuz from what I could assess, they’re going to be needing ‘em!
The longer I sat there, the hotter it got. There were fans pointing towards the bench and desks where the lawyers and such were sitting. Obviously, it didn’t help much, cuz the lawyers started pealing of their suit jackets and rolling up their sleeves. We, the peons, didn’t even have the benefit of a hot breeze from a fan. Trust me, when you have that many people packed into a room, some of which to whom soap is a “four lettered word”, with NO air conditioning, and ya don’t want to be there in the first place, people tend to get a tad testy. I kept waiting for people to start passing out, like they do at B. Hussein’s rallies!
After sitting there, hot and annoyed, the case was “continued” once again. Why? I’m going to say it is from full and complete incompetence of the parties involved.
One of the people I had a discussion with, looked more like circus clown (excessive eye make up) than a court official, with a major attitude, thinking her bouffed hair was attractive and she was “all that”. Well, I was in the right place if I had let the temptation of smacking her get the better of me. Luckily, I didn’t submit to the strong urge.
FINALLY, I got out of there, with no resolution to the problem at hand, and headed to Wal Mart! When you live in a small town, and there aren’t any malls close by, where else would ya go to vent! Males don’t really “get” the need for females to do such venting, but you ladies will understand. I managed to “vent” quite a bit.
