Centrist voters are tilting from Obama
State Republican Party leaders interviewed by The Washington Times said fear of a far-left Obama presidency is warming once-skeptical voters to Sen. John McCain, fueling growing enthusiasm among Republicans that Mr. McCain’s more aggressive campaigning can lead to victory.
“It appears that the more that Obama speaks, the more afraid folks in South Carolina get,” said Spartanburg County Republican Party Chairman Rick Beltram. “We are seeing ‘die-hard’ Democrats tell us that Obama is not their man.
I can hear it now. It’s “fear” of his color. NO, it has nothing to do with what’s on the outside. What’s on the inside scares the bejabbers out of me!
Scientists closer to developing invisibility cloak
Researchers have demonstrated for the first time they were able to cloak three-dimensional objects using artificially engineered materials that redirect light around the objects. Previously, they only have been able to cloak very thin two-dimensional objects.
The findings, by scientists at the University of California, Berkeley, led by Xiang Zhang, are to be released later this week in the journals Nature and Science.
The new work moves scientists a step closer to hiding people and objects from visible light, which could have broad applications, including military ones.
I’m not sure if this is really cool, or really scary. I’m leaning towards….”Wow! How cool is THAT! Can I have one?”
US anti-Iran rhetoric emanates from weakness: Larijani
Larijani said that the US and Western powers did not want to see Iran as a country possessing modern and unique technologies.
“They have made a property from science for themselves and are endeavoring to preserve their own monopoly on modern and unique technologies,” said the speaker.
“Their problem is that the people of Iran have made a breakthrough and progress in at least, several sciences in addition to the technology to produce nuclear energy.” Noting that Iran is currently “in a transitional period to reach developed status,” Larijani said maintaining national unity and using the potentials are needed to pass through this stage.
Lemme see. The US didn’t protest the French from having nuclear power plants. Honestly, I don’t think we have a problem with the technology itself. It’s whose HANDS that technology is in we have a problem with, and y’all are just plain NUTS!
Beijing accused of ‘censoring’ press over Olympic murder
The Beijing Olympic staff claimed they wanted to know what was said because they had not properly understood the discussion in English, despite the presence of official interpreters. But the Chinese journalists did not later recover their notes or tapes, according to the observer.
The incident raises concerns that the Chinese authorities are trying to erase the Olympics link to the murder of an American citizen in order to limit damage to the image of their games.
You can’t unring a bell! Although, they sure do try. This type of incident just proves to the rest of the world that China hasn’t changed a bit from the old Mao days, just more technologically and economically savvy. That makes them even MORE dangerous.
Thousands of felons regain voting rights
In Alabama, Al Sharpton’s younger brother, the Rev. Kenneth Glasgow, will take his “Prodigal Son” ministry into state prisons with voter-registration cards for the first time. The American Civil Liberties Union recently filed suit there and in Tennessee to make it possible for an even larger class of felons to register. In Ohio, the NAACP will hold a voter-registration day at the Justice Center in downtown Cleveland next month to register “people caught up in the criminal justice system,” a local official said.
In Florida a change in the law last year has made more than 115,000 felons eligible to vote, according to the Florida Parole Commission. In other states, local civil-rights and criminal justice groups estimate there are similar numbers who have not registered.
I have my suspicions. It’s not that these people care where or not the felons can vote. It’s WHO they are expecting them to vote FOR that is driving the suits. Oh, and how come Sharpton’s brother has a different last name?
Poll: Most New Yorkers Support Millionaire’s Tax
Nearly four out of five New York State voters support a tax-the-rich plan, first floated by state Assembly Democrats, that would raise income taxes on people who earn more than $1 million a year.
When a recent poll by Quinnipiac University asked voters to state whether they support or oppose the proposal, 78% of voters surveyed said that they back the plan.
Among Democrats, 91% of voters said they are in support of the so-called millionaire’s tax, and 7% said they oppose it. Among Republican voters, 56% support the tax proposal and 36% oppose it.
Well, aren’t they going to be surprised when the jobs start disappearing. Economic ignorance is a job killer!
Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said in a report that it would invest in oil production efficiency to secure global oil supplies.
OPEC said in a report on its upstream and downstream activities that, “production, not including Iraq, would increase from 31.7 million barrels per day in 2005 to 36.9 million barrels per day by 2010”.
In a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in New York at the weekend, the organisation stated: “Crude oil supplies rose by four million barrels per day since 2003 and investments in infrastructure could bring a net increase of more than five million barrels per day within five years.”
Ok, if production has increased so much, why is the world paying so much more? And if OPEC can increase their output, why can’t we?? Oh yeah….we’ve got a Congress that keeps getting in the way of progress. sigh…
Abu Ala Threatens Israel With a Binational State
Speaking in a closed meeting in Ramallah with fellow members of the Fatah terrorist organization, which controls the PA in Judea and Samaria, Abu Ala expressed disappointment with the ongoing talks with Israel. He said that if Israel will not concede to PA demands, “then the Palestinian demand for the Palestinian people and its leadership (would be) one state, a binational state.”
Until now, Abu Ala said, “The Palestinian leadership has been working on establishing a Palestinian state within the ’67 borders.”
Oh….I don’t think that would be such a good idea…..AT ALL! What have they done with the land they were given? Not a damn thing. The only thing they’ve produced are murderous thugs. Why would anyone, especially the Israelis want to go to such lengths to placate evil?
House Democrats ‘Unlikely’ to Join ‘Shadow Congress’
But leaders of the so-called “Shadow Congress” demonstrations also told CNSNews.com they don’t know of any Democrats who plan to break party lines at this time.
“This is my message to my House Democratic colleagues: We know that a number of them are with us,” said Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.). “We are going to call on them today to cross that picket line to take a stand in their district and publicly call on the Speaker of the House to bring this Congress back. And I say to them, ‘Come to this floor and let’s make this demonstration bipartisan.’ ”
Why are the Dhimmis so afraid of Pelosi? Don’t ANY of them have any integrity? Do ANY of them give a flip what their constituents want? Those party lines are exactly what is destroying the country, and it’s time to take a stand against the lunacy of the left! Hey DHIMMIS……GROW A PAIR!
