Personal Discovery
I SERIOUSLY suck at ‘multi-tasking’. I would make a horrible ‘soccer mom’.
This morning, I have been trying to do 90 million things at once. Well, ok, maybe not that many, but it sure has felt like it.
Trying to resolve issues on two different computers, in two different rooms. Drinking coffee. Getting steaks marinated. Yeah, I actually DO know how to cook, and quite well, too. I just don’t. Drinking coffee. Getting boxes ready to send. Getting packing slips and address labels printed up. Drinking coffee. Cleaning up the kitchen. Text messaging with Ick. Drinking coffee. Writing emails. Drinking coffee. Putting away laundry from LAST weekend. Drinking coffee. Keeping Mr Spot OUT of the steaks when I turn ‘em over. Drinking coffee. Working on itinerary for BIG birthday adventure in November. And a list of other things I can’t even remember now.
Hmmm…. I’m starting to see a pattern here. Maybe I should back up on the coffee a bit? Naw….just drink the coffee, and forget about the rest.

Learn The Language!
English-only ballot drive brings count, robust debate
Davidson County Election Commission workers will launch the painstaking process of verifying 12,503 signatures today, ultimately deciding whether an English-only measure makes the Nov. 4 ballot.
Metro Nashville Councilman Eric Crafton dropped off signed petition postcards Thursday, well before Saturday’s deadline and with what he said is enough margin of error to account for unqualified voters or signatures that can’t be verified. Crafton’s measure needs 10,103 valid signatures to be included.
A good start! I’m really disappointed there weren’t even more signers. Is anyone up there in Nashville paying attention???
The measure would prevent city business from being done in any language other than English. But exactly how it would be carried out — if at all — upon passage is up for debate.
How it would be carried out? Does stupidity run rampant? You speak English. You do business in English. How hard is that to figure out? You don’t print ballots, or gubmint information in any language but English. If an immigrant, LEGAL one, wants to live in the U.S., he/she should be able to speak the language. If they’re ILLEGAL, they can go the hell home!
President Bill Clinton signed an order in 2000 that made reasonable translation services a protected civil right to prevent discrimination based on national origin. Governments must publish ballots in other languages, and any program that accepts federal dollars must work with people who aren’t English-proficient.
Contrary to what the Dhimms would like to believe, Bill Clinton was NOT the best president we’ve ever had. Let’s face it, he started a great divide, and the Dhimmis have continued the push!

I will repeat. Print all information in English. It’s really quite simple, and it would save a ton of money to the tax payer. If you’re going to live here, as a law abiding citizen, SPEAK THE FREAKIN’ LANGUAGE!
The American Civil Liberties Union in Nashville indicated that it would closely examine the constitutional questions raised by the measure. And Crafton said he would do what he must to see that the law would be enforced.
This “problem” could easily be resolved, and the ACLU could go back to harassing Christians, if the feckless weasels in D.C. would amend the Constitution to include an official language…..ENGLISH!
“To me, these cards represent thousands of voices crying out to be heard on this issue,” Crafton said. “The citizens are not going to be held hostage by the threat of lawsuits.”
Pfft! So many cities have caved to the “immigrants rights” yahoos, it totally makes me sick! But I’m hoping that the folks up in Nashville will stand strong. It will set a precedent that is seriously NEEDED across the entire country. I won’t include California in that statement. As far as I’m concerned, they’re already a ‘foreign country’. Sorry, Bushy, Jenn, etc.. Come to the REAL American.
Some of the signed petition cards included messages like “Councilman Crafton, thank you!” and “Thanks for helping us take our country back.” Others were returned unsigned with obscene messages, including, “Go (expletive deleted) yourself Crafton.”
Very classy. Nothing like profanity to prove the point of ignorance! Was it written in English, or did it have to be translated?
The Metro Council also overwhelmingly approved last week a measure calling on voters not to sign the petition cards or support the measure if it appears on the ballot.
This tells me quite a bit about the yahoos supposedly representing the LEGAL citizens of Nashville. They aren’t putting THEIR city, state, or country FIRST! Bowing to illegals is NOT a good way to win friends and influence people. Well, unless, of course, they ARE the illegals, and their supporters.
“There is a pretty strong divide as I am sure there is in the Democratic Party on this,” said Tom Lawless, Davidson County Republican Party chairman. “So it is probably going to be difficult for us to take a position as a party.”
Are they freaking kidding me??????? One more reason I’m no longer a Republican! My country comes second, ONLY to God. When the Pubbies started pandering to illegals, they lost me, AND my money! Grow a spine ya twits! Stand up for YOUR COUNTRY! Support ENGLISH ONLY…….NOW!

Deputies seek carjackers who killed man in NE Harris
A man died after hijackers who wanted the sport utility vehicle in which he was riding shot him late Thursday, Harris County sheriff’s investigators said.

Deputies had at least one witness who told them that three men, two Hispanic and one black, had driven away in the stolen pewter-colored Chevrolet Suburban bearing the Texas license plate 05N-PJ6.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Deal gives Russia room to move in Georgia
The United States warned sternly Thursday of a long-term rupture with Russia if Moscow does not quickly abide by its promise to withdraw its fighting forces from Georgia. In contrast to the tough talk, Condoleezza Rice rushed to the former Soviet republic with a new cease-fire plan offering concessions to Moscow.
The new document would allow Russian peacekeepers who were in the disputed South Ossetia region before the fighting broke out a week ago to stay, and they would now be permitted to patrol in a strip up to six miles outside the area, U.S. officials said. But that allowance would be temporary, and details were still to be worked out, the officials said.
Whoa! Wait a minute. Why is anyone making concessions to Russia? Did the Georgians agree to these concessions? How is making concessions standing by our ally? Do they know how much damage can be done in a short period of time? Look what they’ve done in just one week. I’m very confused.
McCain’s VP Mate May Be Jewish Senator or Baptist Preacher
Baptist preacher and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee soon will be accompanied by religious Jewish New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind on a two-day visit to Jerusalem’s Western Wall (Kotel) and the rocket-battered southern town of Sderot. Jewish Senator Joe Lieberman toured Israel earlier this year, and both men are eyeing the Republican vice-presidential spot.
Sen. Lieberman, who ran with presidential candidate Al Gore in 2004 in a bid to become the first American Jewish vice president, has bucked the Democratic party to become an independent. He strongly backs Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain and gave him a guided tour of the Western Wall and Sderot earlier this year.
Uh….well, while I actually LIKE both these people, I do not think either would be considered a ‘strong conservative’ choice for veep. Huckabee would make the Southern Baptists happy, but is he the right choice for those of the NON evangelical leanings? And while Lieberman is a good guy, and had the good sense to leave the Dhimmi party, he still votes with the Dhimmis more often than not. THIS is NOT a good thing. Crap! If we had a decent CONSERVATIVE candidate for prez, either of them would be great. But since we’ve got McFeingold….. 
Poles Ink New Defense Pact With U.S. as Russia Digs In
As Russia hardens its positions in the Georgia war, other nations that were once part of the Communist bloc increasingly are indicating a readiness, along with America, to stand up to future Kremlin muscle-flexing. But it is unclear whether such signals are strong enough to register in Moscow.
America and Poland yesterday rushed the signing of a long-debated plan to build a missile shield station on Polish land. According to Warsaw, the agreement showed a commitment between the two countries to defend each other, although Washington denied the pact was related to the Georgia crisis. Baltic countries offered humanitarian aid to Georgia, and their leaders appeared alongside President Saakashvili at a Tbilisi solidarity rally Tuesday night.
This pact has been sitting in the ‘in-box’ for how long, and now they sign it? But it has nothing to do with Russia’s actions, right? Gimme a break! They really DO think we’re stupid, don’t they!
Human Rights Panel Condemns Noose Incident
“The committee members were pleased that this incident is under investigation and we do not wish in any way to interfere with that activity. Throughout history, in the U.S. as well as other areas of the world, a noose is a clear message of hate and prejudice. The Committee feels it is important to go on the record that this type of demonstration will not be tolerated in Chattanooga. While commenting on this incident may reward the person or persons who perpetrated it with attention, the committee feels failing to comment on the act is in itself approval of it and may encourage similar incidences.
Ya know what’s ‘encouraging similar incidences’? Making a huge media play when such stupidity occurs. Copy cats read the papers and watch the idjit box too!
Not All Republicans Urging Bush to Veto Drilling Ban
Blunt told CNSNews.com last week that he would advise President Bush to veto any bill that extended the oil drilling moratorium and to have the Interior Department begin making preparations now so it would be able to issue leases in October when the moratorium will no longer exist.
When asked about a veto yesterday, however, Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) said he would like to see some sort of deal worked out with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that allowed drilling but obviated a showdown.
“We’re in a position right now of the Democrats trying to figure out what to do, an energy bill that addresses the needs presented today,” Shimkus told CNSNews.com.
What’s to figure out? With new technologies, there shouldn’t be a problem. Dhimmis are living the ‘golden age’ of the hippie mind set. Move on. Go around them. Get them the hell out of the way! And stop freakin’ blowing it! Bowing down to Queen Moonbat’s whims are going to lose you the support of the people who stuck you in that job in the first place! No more pussy footin’! DRILL NOW! Wamp says he will run for Tenn. governor if Frist doesn’t
Republican U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp says he plans to run for governor in 2010 unless former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a candidate.
Wamp told the Chattanooga Times Free Press on Wednesday that he is the “best person to serve our state in our state if Senator Frist decides not to run.”
Jeez. I’ve really got to learn more about TN politicians. I have NO idea who Wamp is.
Frist retired from the Senate last year after two terms and has said he will not decide until early next year if he will run for governor.
Republican Shelby County District Attorney General Bill Gibbons has said he’s “very interested” in running for governor, but also if Frist is not a candidate. Other possible candidates are U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey.
Marsha huh? Hmmmm…. I could back her, and Ramsey too. Frist is a good guy, but he seems to have the personality of a fruit fly. Y’all think Thompson didn’t show passion? Frist put me to sleep!
U.S.: Iraqi Shiite Terror Squads Receiving Training in Iran
Iraqi Shiite explosive and assassination teams are being trained in at least four locations in Iran by Tehran’s elite Quds force and Lebanese Hezbollah, according to intelligence gleaned from captured militia fighters and other sources in Iraq.
A senior U.S. military intelligence officer in Baghdad also said the fighters planned to return to Iraq in the next few months to kill specific Iraqi officials as well as U.S. and Iraqi forces.
Oh gee. What a shocker! Iran is training murderers to murder. Still wanna have that ‘chat’, B. Hussein?
U.S. stocks mostly up as crude’s drop continues
U.S. stocks ran mostly higher in early Friday trading, continuing the prior day’s climb, with the dollar’s recent rise helping to keep a lid on commodities including crude, which headed back below $113 a barrel.
“We’re not sure how long this trade can continue, as there is some fear the commodities complex is selling off because of a global economic slowdown. But for the now, we’ll continue to celebrate cheaper oil and the stronger dollar,” said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at Jefferies & Co
Well, maybe it’ll continue long enough for me to buy a trinket or two on our upcoming adventure.
Mexican gunmen kill drug patients
Gunmen have killed eight patients and injured six others in a drug rehabilitation centre in Mexico.
The shootings are believed to be part of a drug gang feud in the northern border city of Ciudad Juarez.
The hooded gunmen, all wearing body armour, burst into the drug-and-alcohol rehabilitation centre, dragged the patients to the patio and shot them.
About 40 people have been killed in drug cartel-related violence in the city this week.
When the police are outgunned by the police, the bad guys make them look like incompetent boobs. Oh, wait a minute. This is in Mexico? Never mind. If they keep it on THEIR SIDE of the border….. Unfortunately, they have been dragging it to ours, and the morons in D.C. don’t seem to notice.
Mayor’s defense argues he was set up in alleged assault
Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s defense appears to be that law enforcement officials trying to serve a subpoena knew they were going to the wrong house before encountering an irate Kilpatrick, which the mayor’s lawyer just argued means Kilpatrick could not have been interfering with the delivery of a subpoena.
The officers have said they were trying to serve a subpoena on Bobby Ferguson, one of the mayor’s best friends. After seeing a truck from Ferguson’s company outside a house on LaSalle in northwest Detroit, the officers went to see if Ferguson was there. Before going to the door, they checked with other law enforcement officials who told them the house belonged to someone named “Roberts.”
This guy is the perpetual ‘victim’. Awwww….puir wee babe! Criminy! Why doesn’t he just resign? He’s an embarrassment, to more than just Detroit!
