Politics Explained
Whether Democrat or Republican, I think you’ll get a kick out of this!
A little boy goes to his dad and asks, ‘What is Politics?’
Dad says, ‘Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I am the head of the family, so call me The President. Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government. We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People. The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we will call him the Future. Now think about that and see if it makes sense.’
So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents’ room and finds his mother asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny’s room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed.
The next morning, the little boy says to his father, ‘Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now.’
The father says, ‘Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about.’
The little boy replies, ‘The President is screwing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep shit.’

‘The Inconvenient Obama’
Andrew Breitbart
Sen. Barack Obama has a problem. And it lives in a hut.
His name is George Hussein Onyango Obama, and he is the 26-year-old half brother of Mr. Obama, the multimillionaire autobiographer who neglected to write that his paternal sibling lives on less than a dollar a month in the outer slums of Nairobi, Kenya.
They have met twice.
Unearthed by Italian Vanity Fair and virtually ignored by the American press, the inconvenient George Obama could emerge as a compelling character in the freshman senator’s carefully edited road-to-the-White-House narrative – especially now that his campaign has unleashed a personal attack on Sen. John McCain’s station in life.
The Obama hit job on Mr. McCain seizes on his clumsiness in answering a reporter’s question about how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own. “I think – I’ll have my staff get to you,” Mr. McCain fumbled. In a well-funded nationally televised ad spot titled “Seven,” Mr. Obama’s messenger twice repeats the correct answer as the words on the screen reinforce the meme of class warfare.
“Seven. Worth $13 million.”

Yes! Make It Go Away!
Yes, I do actually read some of the ‘opposition’ stuff on occasion. And sometimes, I even have to comment on it in a post. Here’s an occasion that cannot be passed up! A little piece over at HuffPo by Johann Hari:
John McCain’s Secretive Plan to “Kill the UN”
But McCain does know one thing: he doesn’t like the United Nations. He championed George Bush’s appointment of John Bolton as the US Ambassador to the UN — precisely because Bolton scorns the UN as “irrelevant” and “a twilight zone.” He even announced “there is no such thing as the United Nations.” It was like appointing Marilyn Manson as Ambassador to the Vatican. This is part of a long seam of thinking on the American right: they opposed the UN’s creation by Franklin Roosevelt as an unacceptable fetter on American power, and have never been properly reconciled to it. Republican congresses have refused to authorise US dues to the UN — so there is now a backlog of $2.8 billion outstanding.
Yet McCain cannot oppose the UN outright — because the American people support it so passionately. Contrary to the yokel-myth, a typical opinion poll — by Global Public Opinion — just found that 64 percent of Americans think the UN is doing a good job, compared to just 28 percent who support George Bush. Some 72 percent of Americans want the UN to play a bigger role in their foreign policy.
Ok, McCain just went up a notch or two in my book. I don’t like the Useless Numnuts either. Do I really need to list the reasons? Probably not. Most thinking people KNOW this ‘august body’ is a bunch of anti American, anti Israelis, anti gun, anti women, pro world tax, thieves….dang…the list goes on and on. Murderers, rapists?
So, we “owe” $2.8 billion? Do I give a flying flip? I think it’s time to condemn that building up there in New York, and kick the whole of ‘em out! They want to move? Buh bye! I heard Toronto was willing a while back. Better yet, perhaps they should move the whole shebang to Dafur? Zimbabwe? The Congo? How ’bout Babylon?
I’m fairly sure the original idea was for nations to work together to ensure peaceful resolutions to conflicts. Pfft! They’ve failed miserably, and have even encouraged conflicts, murder and suppression of free people. Does this sound like an effective organization to you? Nope, me neither.
Lofty ideals, while they make those folks ‘feel good’ aren pretty useless if they can’t be implement without major harm to the people they are suppose affect.
The United Nations Millennium Declaration: The Goals is an example of just how out of touch with reality that bunch really is.
Peace, security and disarmament
International rule of law — Strengthen compliance with decisions of the International Court of Justice and provisions of the UN Charter; take concerted action against international terrorism; redouble efforts to counter world drug problem, transnational crime;
Let’s see. “Concerted action” involves sitting around, making up ‘resolutions’ to tell rogue nations “No no…bad! Mustn’t do that!” Yup….real affective, as we’ve seen in recent years. How many resolutions did they pass on Iraq? What are we up to now on Iran?
UN and armed conflict — Give UN the resources needed for conflict prevention, dispute resolution, peacekeeping, peace-building and reconstruction; strengthen cooperation with regional bodies;
Resources involves a great deal of tax payer money to put little blue hats on some of the worst criminals seen…..Peace Keepers! Pfft! They only keep “pieces”, not peace.
Disarmament — Strive to eliminate weapons of mass destruction; call on States to consider acceding to Landmines Convention; end illicit traffic in small arms, light weapons
This is one of those that REALLY disturbs me. In the long run, what they are ‘asking’ is for decent, law abiding citizens give up their right to defend themselves from above mentioned blue hatted thugs. Unacceptable! And anyone who supports such a move is also unacceptable, whether it is a candidate for the POTUS, or a regular citizen of Australia. NONE of us should accept such a blatant attempt to ‘take over the world’!
You can go and read the whole column, if you want. I’ll sum it up for ya…… UN good! US bad! Shocker, eh?

Happy Monday!
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they’re amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Share this with women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked!
Now Men…. Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it’s up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

MDC wins Zimbabwe parliament vote
MDC chairman Lovemore Moyo becomes the first opposition speaker since the country’s independence in 1980.
As the MPs arrived for the ceremony, two MDC law-makers were arrested, a party spokesman said.
President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF did not field a candidate for the vote, but backed a rival MDC faction.
The BBC’s Karen Allen says this was a tactic to try and engineer control of parliament, which has backfired.
No doubt, Mugabee isn’t too happy, so there will be bulls-eyes painted on a variety of backs, foreheads, and family members of the opposition. If that doesn’t happen, I’m going to be REAL surprised.
“Numb’s the word,” says the 192-year-old publication, which claims an accuracy rate of 80 percent to 85 percent for its forecasts that are prepared two years in advance.
The almanac’s 2009 edition, which goes on sale Tuesday, says at least two-thirds of the country can expect colder-than-average temperatures this winter, with only the far West and the Southeast in line for near-normal readings.
“This is going to be catastrophic for millions of people,” said almanac editor Peter Geiger.
Yeah, and that lying, thieving, no good shiftless weasel, The Boracle, ain’t gonna be too happy either! OH, that’s right! He’ll just jet off to some tropical paradise while REAL folks deal with it like grownups. Well, hopefully. It’s called putting on an extra sweater. Earmuffs. A couple of pairs of gloves? Wait a minute…I thought we were in the midst of ‘MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING’????
Israel frees prisoners in gesture to Abbas
The prisoners returned to cheers and applause as they entered Palestinian-controlled territory before heading to a massive rally attended by thousands of people at the headquarters of President Mahmoud Abbas.
The prisoners arrived in Ramallah after being released by prison guards at an Israeli military checkpoint near Jerusalem. The prisoners, some waving black-and-white checkered keffiyeh headdresses as they stepped off Israeli buses, kissed the ground before boarding Palestinian vehicles.
Among the 198 Palestinians freed was Said al-Atba, who has served 32 years of a life sentence for carrying out a deadly market bombing in the 1970s. Al-Atba, 57, was the longest serving inmate held by Israel and he is widely seen by the Palestinian public as a symbol of all the prisoners.
Such ‘gestures’ can get a whole lot of people killed. More action to ensure the safety of the people, fewer ‘gestures’ to appease a murderous society might be in order!
Jackson, Mississipppi clerk shoots robber in clown mask to death
Police spokesman Lt. Jeffery Scott says a man wearing a clown mask and carrying a gun entered the gas station just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
The man took money from the register and ran from the store.
Scott says the clerk followed the man outside and shot several times, hitting the suspect as he ran behind a storage shed.

Lt. Ron Saunier, a Denver Police Department spokesman, said the number of protesters that actually showed up was nowhere near what groups had told city officials to expect.
Recreate 68 had projected that as many as 25,000 or even 50,000 people would participate in activities this week. Instead, a group estimated by police at 1,000 to 1,200 participated in a Recreate 68 anti-war march Sunday morning, with a much smaller group parading up Colfax Avenue later in the day.
Well, it’s still early yet. I’m sure they’ll attract a few more folks….10, 15, maybe? Heh.
NYC stabbing victim’s cries for help ignored
Police found 21-year-old Ebony Garcia lying in a pool of blood at about 2:10 a.m Saturday. She was stabbed about a dozen times and died two hours later at a local hospital.
Witnesses say neighbors ignored the woman’s screams for more than 30 minutes before someone called the police. One neighbor says she ignored the cries because she thought the victim had been drinking.
Police want to question Garcia’s boyfriend. She had obtained a restraining order against him.
“Witnesses say……”?? Why didn’t the witnesses call 911? Is it because NY is o impersonal, or do they think the cops are incompetent, or what? This happens way too often in large cities. Something has gone missing in our society.
Legal Challenges Likely in Term Limits Fight
After years of scant mention, the case — in which the state Court of Appeals ruled that Buffalo’s council could repeal a term limits law passed by referendum — is again being talked about around City Hall, where it is cited as evidence that New York’s council has the authority to extend its term limits, even though New Yorkers twice voted in favor of a two-term limit.
So, once again, the will of “the people” is being thwarted by shifty politicians, eager to keep their power.
Florida, Michigan delegates get full votes
Democratic delegates from Michigan and Florida were awarded full voting rights at the national convention Sunday, despite holding early primaries against party rules.
The convention credentials committee voted unanimously to restore the voting privileges at the behest of Barack Obama, the party’s presumptive nominee for president. The states were initially stripped of delegates for holding primaries before Feb. 5. The party’s rules committee restored the delegates in May, but gave them only half votes.
The Dhimmis don’t even care about their own rules. Why should they care about ours. It’s a symptom! Is negative respect possible?
Israel police raid Islamic Movement
“The horrible closure of the al-Aqsa foundation comes for only one reason; because the al-Aqsa foundation reveals the truth to the whole world,” Sheikh Raad Salah, head of the Islamic Movment in northern Israel told Al Jazeera.
“This truth terrifies Israel and discloses the horrible crimes of the Israeli occupation authorities in al-Quds [Jerusalem] and in the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Which horrible truths? Would it be the ones leaving dead Jewish bodies strewn about the country, like so much cord wood?
Motorist who bit officer says he is HIV-positive
Ross Deadwyler, 41, and police crossed paths about 3:30 a.m. Saturday when an Atlanta officer tried to stop Deadwyler along Metropolitian Parkway after noticing the suspect’s vehicle had a broken headlight, said Officer Ronald Campbell, an Atlanta police spokesman.
Deadwyler sped off, prompting the officer to briefly give chase, Campbell said.
A Georgia State Patrol officer soon picked up the chase, finally apprehending Deadwyler on Sylvan Road, Campbell said.
Deadwyler bit out a plug of flesh from the Atlanta officer’s arm as the officer reached into his car to shut off the ignition, Campbell said. Deadwyler said he was HIV positive immediately after biting the officer, Campbell said.
Uh….bit him? Over a taillight? Did the cop leave a couple of black eyes with the…uh….’suspect’? I really hope so! I also seriously pray the officer will be ok, no testing positive!
PLO lauds IRI regional position
During the meeting, Kaddoumi briefed Mottaki on the achievements of resistance movement of the Palestinian people.
Mottaki said, for his part, the Islamic Republic of Iran, since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution has always expressed its all-out support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He underlined the need for strengthening solidarity and unity among different Palestinian groups and parties and expressed hope that the resistance movement of the Palestinian people would be victorious in the near future.
I’d look for a LOT of Iranian made weapons in the not too distant future.

Verse of the Day
Matthew 16:24-28
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
