Blatant MSM Bias

30 August 2008, 10:14 am. Comments Off. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Moonbats & Other Animals, Opinion.

Most thinking people have noticed a HUGE difference in the way news is covered in recent years. One particular ‘alphabet’, NBC, and it’s cable channel, MSNBC, have been at the top of the heap of steaming male bovine excrement.  Actually, the only thing we watch on NBC is Jay Leno.  Since he’ll be replaced with the very not funny Conan O’Brien, I guess we’ll just have to remove it from our “faves list”.

I’ll admit, sometimes Bill O’Reilly irritates me, but this time, he’s pretty much nailed it!

The Peacock and Barack Obama

With much of the nation sampling TV coverage of the Democratic Convention, things are getting a bit dicey for NBC News. For months that organization has tilted heavily toward promoting Barack Obama for president, thereby violating traditional journalistic tenets.

According to a recent study by the Media Research Center, “NBC Nightly News” has the most lopsided pro-Obama coverage among national TV news operations. The MRC found that pro-Obama reports outnumber anti-Obama reports by 10 to one on “NBC Nightly News” — an amazing statistic.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at how NBC News might look sometime soon.

Local university presidents rebuff a lower drinking age

Presidents at Nashville area universities have shown a lack of interest in, and in some cases contempt for, a national initiative by college presidents asking Congress to reconsider the legal drinking age.

“Surely we have some things we could be doing that are more important to higher education and our students than this discussion,” said Belmont University President Bob Fisher. “I couldn’t be more miffed at what they’re thinking.”

I’m of the matter, it doesn’t matter what the drinking age is, there will be kids who are just plain stupid! You know the kind, wanting so bad to get into a fraternity, or sorority, they’ll do just about anything. And that includes drinking themselves to death. Just cuz they are college kids does NOT make them smart. Intelligent, maybe. But not smart.

Zimbabwe Ruling Party Rejects Latest Opposition Demands

The Herald newspaper reports Saturday that the ruling ZANU-PF has dismissed the suggestion that the Cabinet be co-chaired by Mr. Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai as “stunning ignorance on how government works.”

The harsh words come just a day after power-sharing talks between Zimbabwe’s ruling party and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change resumed in South Africa.

I don’t know who thought this idea would work. You’ve got this guy who is obviously NOT going to give one inch when it comes to his control, so what on earth made anyone think he’d ‘share’? The opposition might as well take it’s toys and go home.

Catholic lawmakers decry Pelosi ‘error’

“As fellow Catholics and legislators, we wish you would have made a more honest effort to lay out the authentic position of the Church on this core moral issue before attempting to address it with authority,” said the letter, delivered to the speaker on Tuesday.

“Your subsequent remarks mangle Catholic Church doctrine regarding the inherent sanctity and dignity of human life; therefore, we are compelled to refute your error,” it added.

Mrs. Pelosi had said the Catholic Church has been divided over abortion and only in the past 50 years has taught that life begins at conception. The remarks were quickly condemned by the bishops of New York, Washington, Denver and Pittsburgh as well as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

This woman isn’t qualified to be speaker of anything, much less the House of Representatives! Her arrogance in speaking for the Catholic church, and their doctrine on baby murder just points out how out of touch that woman really is!

Georgia says Russia troops blocking refugee return

Russian troops deep inside Georgian territory are stopping thousands of refugees from returning to their homes, a Georgian official said on Saturday.

Russian troops were still manning checkpoints in Georgia and patrolling a Black Sea port even after Moscow pulled back much of the force it deployed to crush Georgia’s attempt to take back two separatist provinces.

Uh….weren’t they suppose to be gone……last week? And where is NATO in all this? How ’bout the UN? Isn’t protecting sovereignty suppose to be one of they jobs?

Residents begin leaving Gulf Coast ahead of storm

Cars packed with clothes, boxes and pet carriers drove north among heavy traffic on Interstate 55, a major route out of the city. Gas stations around the city hummed. And nursing homes and hospitals began sending patients farther inland.

“I’m getting out of here. I can’t take another hurricane,” said Ramona Summers, 59, whose house flooded during Katrina. She hurried to help friends gather their belongings. Her car was already packed for Gonzales, nearly 60 miles away to the west of New Orleans.

Experience is a hard teacher! I’m really glad folks are getting out, just in case. Maybe it won’t hit? Praying hard for their safety. One note: If Gustav does hit NOLA, and destroys it, can we just leave it be this time? Use the money that would be poured into that black hole to help families relocate and start over? PLEASE?

Iraq election law must pass mid-Sept for 2008 vote

Further delays in the provincial vote, initially scheduled for October 1, are certain to frustrate Washington, which sees these elections as central to its efforts to help reconcile Iraq’s rival factions and strengthen its fledgling democracy.

The law has been held up by an impasse over how to treat the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, which minority Kurds regard as part of their traditional homeland.

The city’s Turkmen and Arabs, many of whom moved to Kirkuk as part of Saddam Hussein’s policy to “Arabize” the city, reject the Kurds’ ambition to make it part of their autonomous northern region.

Simple solution: Saddam Hussein moved ‘em in? Move them back where they came from. Problem solved. Yer welcome. :)

Queensland Health counts chairs as beds

In notes, it says the “Queensland Health Data Dictionary defines an ‘available bed’ as a bed which is immediately available to be used by an admitted patient if required and an ‘available bed alternative’ as an item of furniture, for example, trolley and cot, non-recognised beds occupied or not, which is immediately available for use by admitted patients”.

Further documents revealed that “available bed alternatives” included a “number of items of furniture (eg trolleys, chairs, cots, non-recognised beds, etc)”.

Further proof that governments should NOT be in the health care business!

Iranian general: Attack on Iran would cause another World War

“Any aggression against Iran will start a world war,” the Iranian state news agency IRNA quoted the top Iranian official as saying. “The unrestrained greed of the US leadership and global Zionism… is leading the world to the edge of a precipice.”

“It is evident that if such a challenge occurs, the fake and artificial regimes will be eliminated before anything,” he said.

What I find odd is that it’s been Iran talking about attacking Israel, ‘wiping it off the map’, yet now, after so long of their threats, they are acting like the innocent bystander. And too many are buying into that crap. Iran has been throwing the sticks at the pitbull, daring them to bite. I think Israel has shown great restraint!

Memphis-area emergency shelters to open today

The Memphis and Shelby County Emergency Management Agency has identified 10 shelters in the city that will be manned and run by the Red Cross. The shelters are for evacuees without transportation.

New Orleans officials estimated that 30,000 people will need evacuation assistance because they do not have access to a vehicle, cannot afford to evacuate or have special medical needs.

The first shelter, which is tentatively set to be at the Hickory Hill Community Center, will open today as evacuees arrive by train, while the other shelters will open in succession as needed. The shelter locations will be released upon opening.

If you need assistance, contact the Red Cross! Memphis seems to be on high alert, and quite ready and willing to help out. Hmm….. I wonder if we’ll be getting any folks this far east.

Mum Guilty of Microwaving Baby

Her cellmate told the court that Arnold had confessed to putting the baby in the microwave.

She said Arnold told her she turned it on because she was worried her boyfriend would leave her if he found out the child was not his.

Prosecutors said the baby’s DNA was found inside the microwave in Arnold’s apartment.

Arnold’s defence team had claimed an eight-year-old boy was responsible for the death.

Words fail. A boyfriend is more important that the life of a child? Putting her sorry ass in a microwave, and cooking her, would be a just and fitting punishment. And then to blame a little boy?

Verse of the Day

James 1:12-20

2 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

No Dismissal!

29 August 2008, 9:33 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Crime, Pond Scum.

Thank you Judge Antolini!!

No dismissal in Toste case

A Sonoma County judge on Tuesday declined to dismiss charges against five men accused in the Matthew Toste murder case.

Defense attorneys contended that the five defendants were not properly arraigned on charges in the high-profile slaying case of Toste, who was shot in a downtown Santa Rosa parking garage in December 2006.

The suspects are Joseph Kenneth Lopez Jr., 19; his father, Joseph Kenneth Lopez Sr., 39; a cousin, Raul Lopez-Granados, 20; Paul Whiterock, 28; and Nicholas Mejia, 30.

They were indicted in early June following a secret grand jury proceeding that bypassed the normal charging process and the resulting public preliminary hearing stage.

On Tuesday, Superior Court Judge Lawrence “Gary” Antolini rejected defense arguments that the men were given only a truncated summary of charges in early June and did not receive a true copy of the indictment in its entirety until July. Names of several key witnesses also were withheld in the charging documents.

If ever I wanted to see anyone fry, it’s these five!

I’ve been going through a lot of pictures I’ve taken over the years, and found this one of Matthew from the mid 80s. I hope his mom won’t mind me posting it here. I want people to know this was a young man, a dad, a friend, with many people who loved him, and miss him something fierce. The world was better off for him being in it. The world won’t miss the human excrement that took his life!

A Poll

Poll time: Are you pumped?

I know a large number of michellemalkin.com readers have shared my deep-seated reservations about John McCain. Those reservations — especially regarding border security, the environment, campaign finance, and his Soros flirtations — remain. And you know I will not hesitate to pound on them. But the Palin VP choice appears to be a huge step forward for movement conservatism. She is the real deal.

Today’s poll question: Are you on board with McCain/Palin?

So, click here.

My response?

Hell, yes! Writing my first check to the GOP in ages.

Actually, I’m not sending a dime to the GOP.  I’m sending it directly to the campaign itself!  But that’s the closest I could get.  :)

The Ick in law has reminded me I failed to point college football fans in his directions, to share in the picks for the opening weekend of college football.

Well after a summer of wishing and asking “is it football time yet”, the answer is finally YES! As promised I have put together 15 college games, from some pretty slim picking for the first week. I also had no choice but to include some really.. umm as we like to call them *Layup Picks*. Trust me you will know what Im talking about when you see some of these games.. As the Full Bug Says.. Let the “Football Pick’em Extravaganza” begin!!! My picks are indicated by the (X) next to the team or picture.

Well, OOOOPS!

So, all you NCAA fans, go, share in the joy of FOOTBALL!

Nashville Council Doesn’t Like English?

29 August 2008, 1:08 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Illegals, Pond Scum, Tennessee.

Lawsuit: Metro blocks English-only vote unfairly

A group that hopes to make English the official language of Nashville filed suit against the city Thursday in an effort to put the issue up for a vote this fall.

Nashville English First sponsor and Metro Councilman Eric Crafton acted two days after the Davidson County Election Commission refused to put the referendum on the Nov. 4 ballot, despite the pro-English group’s collection of enough county voters’ signatures to do so.

Once again, the pro illegals in local government tries its best to thwart the ‘will of the people’!

City attorneys have said the Nov. 4 election will fall three days short of a two-year gap required between petition-driven referendums on proposals to change the Metro Charter. The last such referendum was held Nov. 7, 2006.

But Jim Roberts, an attorney for Nashville English First and Crafton, said Metro attorneys read the law in a way that was rigged to keep voters from deciding the issue.

“Rigging” is exactly what they are doing, in favor of a small portion of the population who can’t be bothered to learn the language!

“They don’t want the voters of Davidson County to vote on this referendum,” Roberts told reporters after filing the lawsuit in Davidson County Chancery Court. “The only way they could prevent that was to stop it before it started.”

I would suggest the folks of Nashville start making phone calls, send letters, and emails to their so called representatives. Let them know that you feel their actions are contrary to what you want in representation of your elected officials.

The proposed charter amendment would require that all Metro meetings, communications and publications be conducted or published in English, with no exceptions for health or safety. Critics have acknowledged that they’ll do what’s necessary to keep the measure from becoming law, including challenging supporters’ ability to put it up for a countywide vote.

The forces against such a measure just baffles. Why shouldn’t all government business be conducted in ENGLISH? That’s the language we speak in this country! If they are concerned about health and safety, they might want to have a chat with those who push for a bilingual education, and ask them what could be more safe than having the people who live and work in the US speak the language?

The lawsuit also says Metro allowed two charter amendment referendums within a two-year period in the 1990s and is ignoring a clear precedent. Referendums were held Nov. 5, 1996, and Nov. 3, 1998.

But every charter amendment proposal in 1996 was submitted by the Metro Council, not by voter petition, Elections Administrator Ray Barrett confirmed. The charter says the council can’t put charter referendums on the ballot more than twice in a four-year term, but it makes no reference to the time between those two submissions.

What this says to me is that the council doesn’t give a flying flip about the people’s wishes, only their own, as a governing body. Yep…..tells me a WHOLE lot about those folks up there in Nashville!  Kind of makes me wonder if they are taking campaign donations from anti English/American groups.

Morning Coffee 08/29/08 – Late Edition

29 August 2008, 11:48 am. Comments Off. Filed under General News.

Obama draws parallels to Martin Luther King Jr.

Embarking on the final leg of his historic presidential run, Barack Obama on Thursday invoked the promise of Martin Luther King in a pledge to end “the broken politics in Washington and the failed presidency of George W. Bush.”

Before nearly 90,000 flag-waving supporters in an open-air NFL stadium, Obama accepted his party’s nomination in a quest to become the nation’s first African-American president — 45 years to the day after King delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

I can hear Dr. King crying from Heaven at the thought that his dream has been pre-empted and turned into something it was never meant to be.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Carter: Bill Clinton ‘hurt his wife’s candidacy’

“As he tried to campaign for his wife, I think in the heat of the campaign, he made some verbal mistakes,” Mr. Carter said in an interview Wednesday night just minutes before Mr. Clinton took the podium at the Democratic National Convention. “I made plenty of them when I was running for president, too. So I don’t blame him for it, but I think in some of his remarks, he has hurt his wife’s candidacy.”

Mr. Carter praised the Clinton administration’s domestic policies. But when asked whether Mr. Clinton had been a divisive figure, he agreed though stressed he believed it was unintentional.

Contrary to what Mr. Carter things, he is not relevant…..to anyone! The man is a major fruitcake! Although, he might be right in this case. Billy boy’s mouth does tend to run away from him.

Obama Declares: ‘McCain Doesn’t Get It’

“If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament and judgment to serve as the next commander in chief, that’s a debate I’m willing to have,” Mr. Obama said last night, accepting the Democratic presidential nomination before a crowd of 75,000 in the highly unusual venue of an outdoor football stadium.

Mr. Obama invoked one of the hallmarks of his campaign, his opposition to the war in Iraq, as he painted Mr. McCain as a key supporter of the strategy that put America’s military focus on Baghdad while Al Qaeda regrouped in Afghanistan.

On national security, I see McCain chewing up B. Hussein, and spitting him out.

Gustav threatens Caymans after swamping Jamaica

Forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm could wind up almost anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico, but the currently projected track would carry it to Louisiana — perhaps as a major hurricane — by Tuesday.

The hurricane center said the storm was centered near Jamaica’s western coast on Friday morning and it was moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 kph). Gustav’s maximum sustained winds were near 65 mph (100 kph) with higher gusts.

Forecasters said it could strengthen back into a hurricane before slamming into Grand Cayman on Friday and into the western tip of Cuba Saturday.

Hey, maybe it’ll turn right and head out into the Atlantic? One can only hope. If it does head into the Gulf, perhaps it’ll fizzle out?

Former sheriff’s sergeant indicted on first-degree murder charges

Witnesses said Jones, who was off duty, was involved in arguments at the club and threatened the lives of several people, shooting one in the buttocks when he tried to leave. They said he was planning to shoot another customer when Munsey intervened. As they struggled on the ground, witnesses said, Munsey was shot and killed.

First-degree murder carries punishment of life in prison or death, but aggravating circumstances must be shown for the death penalty to be imposed.

I hope they fry this SOB. He had supposedly served ‘the people’, yet turns into a murderous thug.

Protesters Say Obama’s Not an Anti-War Candidate

Giovanni Jackson, spokesman for the San Francisco-based grassroots group The World Can’t Wait, told CNSNews.com that Obama would not remove all troops from Iraq, would increase the troop presence in Afghanistan and has a record of supporting U.S. military aggression around the world.

“Obama claims to be an anti-war candidate when he really is just a new face on the war of terror that Bush has locked into place,” Jackson said. “He’s pledged pre-emptive war on Iran and on Pakistan. He’s not an anti-war candidate. He’s pledged 14,000 more troops to the war in Afghanistan … and wants to keep 80,000 troops in Iraq.”

I guess this bozo isn’t aware that is actually a WAR going on, world wide? Makes ya wonder what they’ve been smoking in their psychedelically painted caves.

Hamas ‘thugs’ may foil Schalit release

The sources described the victory as a “coup,” pointing out that the newly-elected members were far more radical than those who were ousted from the council.

“The Shura Council of Hamas is now dominated by warlords, thugs and militiamen,” one source said. “The new members are not as educated as their predecessors.

Another source described the vote as a “turning point” in the history of the Islamist organization. “From now on, the armed wing of Hamas is expected to play a bigger role in the decision-making process, he said. “The political leadership of Hamas has definitely been weakened.”

Given the fact that Schalit is being held by members of Izzadin Kassam, some of whom are now represented in the Shura Council, Hamas is unlikely to soften its position in the talks on a prisoner exchange agreement.

Let that poor man go home! This is absurd! If these thugs want some sort of legitimacy (although I don’t see them as such), they could send him home, in GOOD health, mental AND physical. May the Good Lord be with this young man, and his family.

Hunters must clean up after whale scandal

The hunters from Ittoqqortoormiit must return to their whale hunting ground and clean up the whale remains left behind after their recent hunt. An information campaign will also be launched to make the hunting regulations clear.

The conclusion came following a number of meetings between Ittoqqortoormiit Council and the Department for Fishing and Trapping this week, which brought an end to the saga of the 48 dead narwhals found by tourists after a hunt.

The case garnered much attention from Greenland and abroad when the whalers broke the cardinal rule of hunting – to use the entire animal after it has been captured.

I thought whaling had been outlawed? I guess it’s still done in some areas, but I gotta tell ya, the picture of the mess these folks left is down right disgusting.

Newborn killed for interrupting video game

Prosecutors allege that when the child started to cry, Barrios paused his video game, went into the bedroom and shook the baby and hit him in the head.

Barrios left the baby comatose on the bed and spent the next five to 10 minutes finishing his game, authorities said.

When Barrios went back into the bedroom, the baby was blue and he called 911.

Police said the baby wasn’t breathing when firefighters arrived at the apartment and the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A video game? A freakin’ game????????? I pray there is a special place in hell for excrement like this!

Decapitated – 12 Headless Bodies Found in Mexico – Yucatan

In a sign of the spreading violence in Mexico, 12 decapitated bodies were found late Thursday near the colonial city of Merida on the Yucatan peninsula, officials said.

The bodies bore signs of torture and some were unclothed. Yucatan state officials said a 12th decapitated body was found later about 120 miles south of Merida, a city that is often used as a tourist gateway to the famed Maya ruins at Chichen Itza.

Warring drug gangs have routinely decapitated rivals during the last two years as they battle for coveted routes for smuggling drugs into the United States.

Such a beautiful area, rich in history, to be trashed by the garbage who have taken over, is beyond comprehension. Yet, it is a growing problem all over Mexico, that is leaking over our border. Isn’t it about time we did something about this?

James 1:2-11

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
