The Best Man Turned Out To Be A Woman

John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, as his running mate finally gave Republicans a reason to vote for him — a reason, that is, other than B. Hussein Obama.

The media are hopping mad about McCain’s vice presidential selection, but they’re really furious over at MSNBC. After drawing “Keith (plus) Obama” hearts on their denim notebooks, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews stayed up all night last Thursday, writing jokes about Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, the presumed vice presidential pick. Now they can’t use any of them.

So the media are taking it out on our brave Sarah and her 17-year-old daughter.

Wow!  What a reception!

I will be honored to accept your nomination for Veep of U.S.

Proud to serve with hero, McCain, next Prez!

Experts counted out McCain.  All is lost, no hope.  Rather lose election than lose war.

Pollster and pundits usually suck anyway.

Time for leadership.  Put country first.

Unlike B. Hussein, putting Euro trash first, before our brave soldiers.

Mom of soldier, wants hero as Commander in Chief.  Prays for all soldiers, and her son.  Nephew on carrier in Persion Gulf.

B.O. served himself, and his party.

Nice lookin’ family.

Special needs kids, need special parents.  Friend and advocate in WH.

Good idea!

Hubby union member.

:?

Snow machine racers.

Too cold!

Still her honey!

Parents teach lesson of women walking through any door, at any time!

Take that you libtards!

Small town folks are cool!

Damn skippy!

Always proud of America!

Again, damn skippy!

Hockey mom, PTA.  Difference between hocky mom and pitbull……lipstick!

Wanted to make schools better for her kids.  Mayor of hometown.  Opponents look down on mayors.  Tough job!  Like community organizer, but with REAL responsibilities!

Dang!  I love this woman!

Small town folks shouldn’t be fooled by BO.  Talk one way on one coast, another way on other coast.  pfft!  Not a member of established political machines.

This is a GOOD thing! Contrary to what MSM thinks!

Newsflash!  Doesn’t need MSM’s good opinion!  Going to D.C. to serve nation!  Go for right reasons, not for flippin’ cocktail parties.

Leave nation better than we found.  Won’t agree on everything.  Integrity and goodwill.

Well, D.C. hasn’t done THAT in decades!

Pledges to serve people, not politics.  Shook up Alaska, taking on good ol’ boys club.  Ethics reform.  Got rid of luxury jet.

Hear that albore?

Put it on eBay!

Doesn’t need personal chef, kids miss.  Power of veto in public interest!

Hear that Bush???

Half billion bucks in vetos.  Abuse of earmarks, thanks but no thanks to bridge to nowhere.  Revenue back to people of Alaska.  Oil company monopoly broke, control back to people.

Pipeline for American independence.  Dangerous foreign powers don’t much care for us, why are we depending on them for our power?  Russia is not our friend.  Neither is Iran.  Neither is that pisshead in Venezuela.

No sh*t!  Wish those on the left would figure it out!

No excuse for not drilling.  Lay more pipelines, new nuke plants, all kinds of alternative sources.  American sources by American workers!

Oh yeah….

BO with memoirs, but no bills.  Done diddly.

Well, he has been running for prez since he was born.

BO, no victory but for himself.

Greek columns back to studio lot….what is the plan?  Does BO have one?

She’s good!

BO to reduce strength in world, suck up to ‘em.  Oh no!  NOT good!  Terrorists still want to kill us, and BO wants to read them their rights!

He’s such a putz!  And a dangerous one too!

BO will tax you to death, then tax you even more!  Grow gubmint, not America.  Small businesses will be trashed by BO’s taxes.  Taxes will stifle business.

Git yer hand out of my pocket.  I don’t know you!

Change to promote careers = BO!  Career to promote change = McCain.

More BO slapdown!

Talk great vs DO great!  Doesn’t run with the herd.  Leader doesn’t fear a fight.

Harry Reid:  I can’t stand John McCain!

Means maybe the Pubbies actually got the right guy?

Actually, he can’t stand UP to McCain.  Ok, put him in the WH.  Not journey of ‘personal discovery’.

DAMN, she’s good!

Only ONE man in election who has fought for us.  Ain’t BO or Biden!

Well, that’s a fact!

McCain suffered for us.  He came home.  So his name isn’t on War Memorials.  Grace of God makes good men.  Evil is overcome.  Tom of Ohio, fellow POW.  Pinhole in door, McCain led down hall by guards, would grin and give thumbsup.  We need a tough man to guide us.

And it AIN’T B. Hussein Obama!

Speaker can inspire with words, McCain inspires with actual deeds!  Join our cause!  Help American elect great man!

Thank you, and God Bless America!

I really REALLY like this woman!

McCain takes the stage!

And YES, you did make the right choice!

Dhimmis Compare Repubs to Nazis!

More Nazi Talk

On the heels of Robert Wexler and the Obama campaign pushing the Nazi smear on Sarah Palin, the Nazi talk strikes again. Last night on Larry King, Dee Dee Meyers described the theme of last night’s convention program – Country First – as a “very exclusive message” that she interpreted as meaning “basically either you’re a Republican or you don’t love your country.”

King used Meyers’ response as a segue to his other guests, Jesse Ventura and DL Hughley, and this is what they said:

KING: Yes, wasn’t that surprising, Jesse, even though you didn’t see it, that the theme was “we’re the patriots”?VENTURA: Well, you know, the Republicans have been pushing really Hermann Goering on us, the Nazi, since 2001. I mean, you know…

KING: Hermann Goering?

VENTURA: Yes. He said that it’s easy to take a country to war. You have to convince them they’re under attack. Denounce the pacifist for being unpatriotic and also for putting the country into danger. And yet, Thomas Jefferson said dissension is the greatest form of patriotism.

I like to follow the teachings of Thomas Jefferson a little bit more than Herman Goering.

KING: D.L., are you…

HUGHLEY: To follow…

KING: I’m sorry.

HUGHLEY: To follow up on what Jesse was saying, it did remind me — I promise you, the first thing I thought when I saw those “Country First” signs, it reminded me of Nazis. It really — I mean they just seemed so, you know — that seemed to be a country that I don’t recognize.

Excuse me? Perhaps you don’t recognize the country anymore because you and your ilk have been working so hard to this once great Republic into a socialist, defeated, third world country!

Open Government, Or Lack There Of!

3 September 2008, 8:59 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Tennessee.

I’m going to do a bit of copy and paste here.

What Passes for Open Government in Tennessee

The biggest enemy of the People’s right to know what Government is doing is not an apathetic citizenry. It is Government itself! That truth is one of the key reasons I stand for smaller Government with much less power and authority. The self preservation and non-citizen-representing character of Government is nowhere better illustrated than here in Tennessee.

Randy Neal reports “…the recently enacted TN Open Records Act … also established an Advisory Committee on Open Government …” He’s quoting a member of that committee, Dorothy Bowles, “… [a] U.T. Professor and member of the East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists.”

Ms. Bowles reveals the Advisory Committee released “…a proposal that was only this week distributed by the legal counsel’s office.” Because Government takes the responsibility of fully serving and representing the citizens of Tennessee, the Advisory Committee has scheduled a hearing on this proposal, which makes it much more difficult for citizens and journalists to access Government records, for Friday – just two days from now. Further, the deadline for written comments on the proposal is Thursday – tomorrow – at Noon. Written comments can be submitted by email to open.records@state.tn.us

This is how Government serves the citizen? Not only does it make it harder for citizens to hold Government accountable by making it easier for Government to shirk being responsible to taxpayers and citizens, it does so under the cover of night, bureaucracy, no publicity and no time for anyone but other Government employees to examine and debate the matter.

Read the rest here!

I’m fairly new to Tennesee, and am still learning about the goin’ ons in the state.  I’ll be honest, I do not understand the roadblocks that the gubmint keeps putting in the way of ‘open government’.  As with the U.S. gubmint, I was under the impression, it is OUR government!

With Muse’s help, I hope I’ll start to figure it all out.  In the meantime, he’s the one to go to for information for

The Truth About Sarah Palin

3 September 2008, 8:22 pm. Comments Off. Filed under 2008, Chuckles.

Some excellent observations from Texas Fred!

Sarah Palin’s Rice Krispies Bubbles don’t go snap, crackle, pop..they go “Oh shit…quiet!!!..here she comes..”

Death once had a near-Sarah Palin experience.

Sarah Palin always beats the point spread.

Sarah Palin uses French Canadians as bait to catch giant king salmon.

When Sarah Palin booked a flight to Europe, the French immediately surrendered.

Sarah Palin knows the location of DB Cooper’s body because she threw him from the plane.

Sarah Palin can divide by zero.

Global Warming doesn’t kill polar bears. Sarah Palin kills polar bears, with her teeth.

Sarah Palin knows how old the Chinese gymnasts are.

Russia sold Alaska to America because Sarah Palin would not bow to autocracy.

Alaskan wolf packs give Sara Palin first dibs on their kills.

Sarah Palin will give birth to the man who will lead humanity’s war against the machines.

Sarah Palin drives a Zamboni to work.

Sarah Palin begins every day with a moment of silence for the political enemies buried in her yard.

We’ll never know who would win a cage match between Chuck Norris and Sarah Palin because no cage ever constructed can hold her.

Sarah Palin isn’t allowed to wield the gavel at the convention because they’re afraid she’ll use it to kill liberals.

Sarah Palin is the reason compasses point North.

Sarah Palin’s finishing move in the VP debate will be pulling Biden’s still beating heart from his chest & taking a bite.

Little-known fact: “Sarah Palin” is an adopted name. Her birth name is unknown, but her brother’s birth name was “Kal-El.”

Sarah Palin told Mother Nature to calm down and stop spoiling her party: Gustav immediately dropped to Cat 2.

When Sarah Palin smiles, Chuck Norris hides.

Sarah Palin doesn’t need to hunt bears, they give her their skins and then beg for mercy.

A deadly snake bit Sarah Palin once..after three days of nausea, pain, vomiting, chills, fever and convulsions….the snake died.

Sarah Palin, she makes Wonder Woman look like a wimp!

And added by Mr Bushwack in comments:
I heard Sarah Palin boarded a plane headed to France, upon hearing she was coming France surrendered.

Check it out!

Go, Us!

A good day for women in Tennessee.

Our state will swear in our first-ever female supreme court justice today: Janice Holder. This is a Very Big Deal. She’s a really fascinating person.

And BlogNetNews reports that the three top “most influential” bloggers in Tennessee are women.

And:

You Go, Gals!

Three women who blog (sounds like a movie) currently head the list of Tennessee’s most influential blogs at BlogNetNews. And Newscoma tells me all three of them are over 40.

Well, I don’t know about Ms Coma, or Ms Cobb, but I’m waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over 40!

Hmm…. ok…maybe not THAT much over.  :?

An Addition

3 September 2008, 7:34 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Blog Stuff, Blogroll.

Well, after being in Tennessee for about 18 months, I have discovered all kinds of blogs, both right, left and center.  I FINALLY got around to adding one from the left that is actually quite terrific.  Yes, she’s left, I’m right, but she is quite a blogger, and has some interesting stuff about the doin’s in Tennessee.  I’ve linked back to her on a number of things recently, so why wouldn’t I add her to the “Blogs I Frequent”, since I do seem to frequent her site.  Well, as much as I’m able to ‘frequent’ anything lately.  :?

Go, check her out!

Newscoma

I also had to drop a couple of sites that haven’t updated in a while.  I might be able to cut the list over there a little more, but for now…it’s LOOOOONG list.  Still.  :) I also dropped a couple that are nothing but attacks sites, and honestly, that gets old.

For a variety of sites, I’d suggest you check out the BNN sites for all the states.  It’s kind of neat to get opinions from all over the country.  Just in case ya didn’t know, I’m the “editor” for Tennessee.  I know there’s been some controversy recently with the head honcho, David, but I’ll leave that between those involved.

Protesters, police clash outside RNC

Some protesters were responsible for slashing tires on police cars, smashing windows on downtown buildings and assaulting police officers, officials said. Protesters also threw what one official described as a “noxious fluid” on members of the Connecticut convention delegation.

Smashing windows of private businesses, destroying property…yep, showing all the class and maturity they usually do.

Media Uses Palin Pregnancy to Dismiss Abstinence Education

Media personalities, including Diane Sawyer of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” are using the announcement by presumptive Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant to question the validity of abstinence-only education programs.

What these talking heads fail to mention is that abstinence only is the ONLY sure fire way to prevent unwanted pregnancies and STDs. As my mom always told me, aspirin works best! Ya stick the aspirin between your knees, and hold on to it for dear life!

Removal hearing set to begin for Detroit mayor

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has failed to stop Gov. Jennifer Granholm from moving ahead with an extraordinary public hearing that could cost him his job in a scandal over steamy text messages and millions of tax dollars.

Kilpatrick’s lawyers struck out with pleas to a Wayne County judge and the Michigan Court of Appeals, clearing the way for Granholm to begin hearing evidence Wednesday about the mayor’s role in a $8.4 million settlement with fired police officers who sued the city.

Why doesn’t this weasel just resign? Is his ego so large, that he cares so little for his city, he would rather put them, and the state, through the expense and embarrassment of having to forcibly remove him?

GOP hails McCain, assails Obama

The convention hall resounded with boos when Lieberman said the Democratic presidential candidate voted to cut off funding “for our troops on the ground” in Iraq last year.

And again when former Sen. Fred Thompson scoffed at the 47-year-old senator from Illinois, who is seeking to become the first black president.

“Democrats present a history-making nominee for president. History-making in that he is the most liberal, most inexperienced nominee ever to run for president,” Thompson said as delegates roared their agreement.

Damn skippy! And the sooner the yahoos on the left realize that a B. Hussein presidency will hurt them too, the better!

India: More churches and homes burnt in strife-torn Orissa

India’s strife-torn state of Orissa was the target of more sectarian violence on Tuesday with reports that more Christian churches and homes had been destroyed.

Official sources said at least half a dozen churches were set ablaze in villages in the districts of Tikabali and Raikia.

According to the Indian daily, The Asian Age, mobs set two churches on fire in Tikabali, and four Christian churches were burned down in Katinga and Raikia.

“Asian mob” = Muslim thugs

Pakistani PM Yousaf Raza Gilani survives assassination attempt

Shots were fired at Gilani’s car in the capital, Islamabad, but he was not in the vehicle, which was on its way to the airport to collect him.

The prime minister’s press secretary, Zahid Bashir, said unknown assailants fired “multiple sniper shots” in a “murder attempt”.

Two bullets hit the front window on the driver’s side of the black Mercedes limousine.

“The driver reached Islamabad airport, but the prime minister and his staff were not travelling in the vehicles,” the interior minister, Kamal Shah, said.

I guess it’s not hard to figure out just who fired the shots. I’d say anyone who wants Pakistan to be a Taliban/al Qaeda type country.

Iraq: New oil field to deliver 55 billion dollars over 20 years

The Iraqi cabinet expects to generate 55 billion dollars over 20 years from the al-Ahdab oil field after endorsing a development deal with China on Tuesday.

An Iraqi government spokesman told the news agency Voices of Iraq on Wednesday that revenues will total 55 billion dollars or 87 percent of total revenues of 63 billion dollars.

Iraq approved a 3 billion dollar deal with China to develop the al-Ahdab oil field in Wasit province south-east of Baghdad. Discovered in 1979, the oil field is expected to have reserves of 225 million barrels.

Uh….I beg your pardon? China??? That’s it! They can all fry as far as I’m concerned. We save their sorry asses from a murderous thug, and this is how they repays us? Giving China development rights? Time for them to start paying back the American taxpayers, in cold hard cash! Too many lives have been lost in pursuit of their freedom, and I for one, am pissed!

Girl’s first day of school never came

Nequiel Fowler was so excited to start 4th grade on Tuesday that she already had her backpack organized, a new outfit picked out and her hair braided with white beads.

But first she enjoyed the last afternoon of summer, playing down the block from her home with friends and the blind little sister who was her constant companion. When Nequiel bent down to tie her sister Valerie’s shoe, shots rang out and “Nee-Nee” slumped to the ground with a stray bullet in her left side.

Valerie, unaware of what had happened, clung bewildered to a house gate, reaching for her sister and calling her name, neighbors said.

“I’m not glad my daughter is blind, but I’m glad she didn’t see it,” Nequiel’s mother, Linda Williams, said of the fatal Labor Day shooting. “Valerie asked me, ‘Is Nee-Nee dead? Is she gone?’ “

No parent should ever have to go through this kind of pain. No little sisters should be without their mentor.  No child should have to fear for their life. No community should put up with this kind of lunacy! Someone knows something, and if they care about their children, they damn sure better start speaking up!

Up to 15 Years Demanded for Piranha Terrorist Suspects

The lower court judges considered it proven that Azzouz, a 22 year old Moroccan born in Amsterdam, had advanced plans for attacks on politicians and the building of the AIVD secret service, and gave him 8 years. Fellow-suspects El Fatmi, Chentouf and Salah were also found guilty of preparing terrorist attacks and got 4, 4 and 3 years.

Evidence consisted among other things of a video testament in which Azzouz said goodbye to family and friends in October 2005, with an eye to his impending ‘martyr’s death.’ He wanted to “hit Dutch democracy in the heart and arouse fear in the Dutch population by committing attacks which could cost the lives of countless people,” according to the lower court. The OM says the group wanted to assassinate both leftwing and rightwing politicians including Prime Minister Balkenende and MPs Geert Wilders and Jan Marijnissen.

The Dutch might want to reconsider being so ‘tolerant’ of such ….um….people. They are trying to destroy The Netherlands from within, and we’ll be seeing such in the not too distant future, if we don’t put a stop to some of our ‘tolerant’ immigration policies.

McCain ad: Palin more qualified than Obama

The campaign announced: “The McCain campaign will launch a television ad directly comparing Gov. Palin’s executive experience as a governor who oversees 24,000 state employees, 14 statewide cabinet agencies and a $ 10 billion budget to Barack Obama’s experience as a one-term junior senator from Illinois.”

The ad is what the campaign calls “a forward-leaning effort to counter the shameless smears that have prevailed during Gov. Palin’s introduction to the American voter.”

When the MSM spouts a far left wing loon’s ugly gossip as fact, we have a serious problem. The problem is that a lot of people assume since it’s the ‘news’, it must be true. Well, you know what they same about assuming…..  And they sure are making asses of the American people.

Conservatives stick by Sarah Palin despite teen’s pregnancy

Like many local Republicans, Bowen says he supports Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as Sen. John McCain’s running mate, despite news that Palin’s teenage daughter is pregnant. Palin’s selection was intended, in part, to shore up support among religious conservatives like Bowen. So far, it looks like that support is holding.

Instead of alienating conservative supporters of McCain, the Palin crisis is causing Republicans to rally around the vice presidential candidate in the name of family values.

I just don’t get it! Why are the MSM and moonbat brigade (but I repeat myself) so surprised that we, as conservatives, are still supportive of Gov Palin? Should we be all up in arms because they aren’t the perfect family? Criminy. Show me one family that is! We still support her BECAUSE they aren’t perfect, and are dealing with an issue many of us, our here in flyover country, have had to deal with for years.  Family values?  Yes, this young lady’s predicament is one of our family values….give life, instead of murdering a baby.

Jerry Reed 1937-2008

Funny man Jerry Reed was a guitarist’s guitarist

1937-2008

Jerry Reed, country music’s howling virtuoso and a star of stage, studio and screen, died Sunday just before midnight at his Brentwood home.

Mr. Reed, born Jerry Reed Hubbard, suffered from emphysema and was in hospice care. He was 71, and he leaves an unparalleled legacy of laughter and song.

“All of us pickers owe him so much,” said recording artist and guitar player Brad Paisley. “Jerry Reed’s instrumentals are required learning if you want to play country guitar. And every move he made was to entertain, and make the world more fun. Because he was such a great, colorful personality with his acting and songs and entertaining, sometimes people didn’t even notice that he was just about the best guitarist you’ll ever hear.”

Rest in peace sir.  Prayers with the family.

The widely-disseminated Arab Moslem position that the Temple Mount is not Jewish has been debunked – by the Supreme Moslem Council (Waqf) of Jerusalem, in a Temple Mount guide published in 1925.

In 1997, the chief Moslem cleric of the Palestinian Authority, Mufti Ikrama Sabri, stated, “The claim of the Jews to the right over [Jerusalem] is false, and we recognize nothing but an entirely Islamic Jerusalem under Islamic supervision…”

Acts 5:29-32

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
