GOP jumps on Steve Cohen’s remark comparing work of Jesus, Obama as community organizers
Cohen released a statement on Thursday clarifying his intent in making the remarks Wednesday night, saying, “I didn’t and I wouldn’t compare anyone to Jesus. Jesus cannot be compared to anyone. What I pointed out was that Jesus was a force of change, and those who work to accomplish change deserve respect.”
He then went on the political TV show “Hardball” to say of the Jesus remark: “I shouldn’t have done it,” and that he’d learned from the mistake.
Once a bell is rung, it can’t be unrung, especially in today’s politics. After all Cohen dealt with in his primary (even I defended him), you’d think he’d have a little more sense. Obviously not! Now, if he had gone on, say…..O’Reilly? I might have been impressed. Hardball?
Anyone who thinks talking to Tingles is a big deal has serious issues.
Palin Links Iraq to Sept. 11 In Talk to Troops in Alaska
Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would “defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans.”
(…)
“America can never go back to that false sense of security that came before September 11, 2001,” she said at the deployment ceremony, which drew hundreds of military families who walked from their homes on the sprawling post to the airstrip where the service was held.
Why is it that I can read those two statements, and not come to the same conclusion? Clue: Our troops ARE defending the ‘innocent’, from al-Qaeda…..in Iraq. And she’s right! We can’t ever return to our time of naivete, pre 9/11. (If you want an example of obvious bias in the MSM, this one is for you!)
Teacher called 6th grader a terrorist, federal complaint says
In a complaint the Choudharys filed with federal education officials several months ago, they allege the boy’s teacher singled him out during a discussion on ancient Mesopotamia, said Christina Abraham, civil rights director of the Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Abraham said the teacher turned to the boy and used him as an example of “terrorists blowing up something on a plane.”
Why is it when I see that CAIR is involved, I automatically think there’s a large steaming pile of male bovine excrement somewhere in the picture?
Medvedev “would attack Georgia even if on track to NATO”
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday that even if Georgia were put on a firm path to NATO membership, he would not hesitate to attack it again if provoked.
I’m not real sure how tiny little Georgia could provoke great big ol’ Russia. What, do they flip them off across the border? Seems the Russians are thumbing their noses at anyone, or anything, and this doesn’t bode well for anyone in their way.
Iran to become most advanced nation based on justice, president
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that Iran would turn into world’s most advanced nation based on justice principles.
As opposed to what they are now? Which is the complete opposite? I don’t know about you, but I don’t find people who hang children and homosexuals very ‘just’.
GOP campaign downplays Palin book-banning inquiry
The McCain campaign is defending Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s much-criticized inquiry into banning books at her hometown library, saying her questions were only hypothetical.
Shortly after taking office in 1996 as mayor of Wasilla, a city of about 7,000 people, Palin asked the city’s head librarian about banning books. Later, the librarian was notified by Palin that she was being fired, although Palin backed off under pressure.
Here’s a real important site that the MSM (and moonbat bloggers) should make use of – it’s called FactCheck.org, and it would probably be a REAL good idea for them to look for some reality now and then. This media PDS is getting really old! The moonbats can be ‘excused’ for just being down right ignorant, but the media still has an obligation to get their facts straight before blasting headlines across the country!
Peaceful Jewish Demonstration Becomes Angry Arab Riot at Na’alin
The protest against the separation barrier actually began as a demonstration in support of the fence by rights activists who arrived at the site in the morning.
The activists demonstrated peacefully until almost 1:00 p.m., according to an eyewitness who said the trouble began when left-wing protestors began to approach the barrier from the Arab side of the fence.
Rights activists at that time were warned by Border Guard officers to leave the area. “’It’s not safe here,’ they said” related photojournalist Yehuda Boltshauser, who was on the scene at the time.
Well, that’s a real good reason to actually put that fence up! Wish we had one.
City Bracing for Lehman’s Demise
With the sale of Lehman Brothers seen as imminent — possibly as soon as this weekend — New York’s commercial real estate market is bracing itself for the loss of a key financier responsible for tens of billions of dollars in commercial loans.
The Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve stepped in yesterday to help Lehman Brothers put itself up for sale, according to a report published on the Web site of the Washington Post last night. The sale has yet to be finalized, but could be announced this weekend before Asian markets open Monday morning, the report said. Among the companies that have been named as possible acquirers include Bank of America Corp., the French bank BNP Paribas, Germany’s Deutsche Bank AG, and Britain’s second-largest bank, Barclays.
Aren’t financial institutions bought and sold on a regular basis? Have you ever gone to your bank one week, and it’s name was something or other. The next week, it was something else? What’s the big deal? If they sell it, they sell it. Get a grip. Stuff happens, fortunes rise and fall. We recover without gubmint aid. Matter of fact, anyone connected with the gubmint usually makes things worse. Whoever buys the company will then have the responsibilities. I don’t want to buy Lehman’s so please, keep MY money out of it. I didn’t want to buy Mac and Mae either!
Obama mocks McCain as computer illiterate
John McCain is mocked as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate in a television commercial out Friday from Barack Obama as the Democrat begins his sharpest barrage yet on McCain’s long Washington career.
The new fighting spirit comes as McCain has been gaining in the polls and some Democrats have been expressing concern the Obama campaign has not been aggressive enough. Obama’s campaign says the escalation will involve advertising and pushes made by the candidate, running mate Joe Biden and other surrogates across the country.
This might come as a REAL big shock to the B. Hussein folks, but there are a whole LOT of people who don’t use computers. Contrary to what the tech savvy believe, not everyone is all gungho for the dadburn things. There are even people who……gasp…..don’t have email! Not all of them are 72 years old either!
And that’s my take on it. What’s yours?
