Is it my imagination, or is there at least one or two stories coming out of Wisconsin every month that make ya go….

This week alone, there have been two….at least that I know of.  First was the ‘mom’ that wanted to be a cheerleader.  Now this?

Wisconsin Man Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Robbing Toddler’s Piggy Bank

SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin — A man convicted of stealing $20 from a toddler’s piggy bank has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Four-time convicted burglar Ryan Mueller was convicted Thursday of felony burglary as a repeat offender in a Sheboygan, Wisconsin court.

Prosecutors said the 31-year-old Mueller broke into a home in August 2007 and stole money from a 2-year-old girl’s piggy bank while she slept, the Sheboygan Press reported. They said the girl’s mother walked into the room and caught Mueller in the act.

Mueller also was sentenced to five years’ probation. He is to serve his sentence consecutively to a six-year prison sentence he was handed in June for a separate burglary conviction.

Is there a picture of this scum sucker in the dictionary next to LOSER?

Back Side of Ike

Got this picture from my brother in law from last week’s visitor, Ike.  He says this is from the back side, so I’m going to take his word for it.  I’m guessing he is back on the boat or now has electricity at the home place?

I don’t think dumpsters are suppose to be in the middle of a lake.  :?

And I’m pretty sure the docks are suppose to be above water too!

Obama Laments Debt, But Promises Billions for Anti-Poverty Program

Barack Obama, who lamented Friday that “we have not managed our federal budget with any kind of discipline,” is nonetheless promising to spend $50 billion on a United Nations anti-poverty program that critics say will drive up American debt.

“The short-term weakness in the capital market is a reflection of long-term problems that we have in our economy,” Obama told reporters in Florida. “We have been loading up enormous amounts of debt.”

Yet Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, have pledged tens of billions in new spending on a U.N. program that promises cash to poor countries. The program is one of eight sweeping “Millennium Development Goals” the U.N. adopted in 2000.

“Obama and Biden will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and they will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal,” the candidates vow in their campaign platform.

Let’s see if I have this right….D.C. has managed to spend this country so far into debt, we can’t see the next century, yet these two mental giants want to spend even more on a Useless Numnuts program that is bound to fail, just like every other program they’ve come up with in the past? Am I reading this right?

Plant workers: Fairness at stake in prayer dispute

Melissa Infante sat in her car smoking a cigarette, knowing she was supposed to be packaging meat at the JBS Swift & Co. plant where she’s worked for nearly two years. But she’d walked off the job Thursday morning to protest a schedule change she believes unfairly catered to Muslim workers at the plant, shrugging off warnings from supervisors that she could be fired. “To me, it’s just not fair,” Infante said.

Has the plant made similar adjustments for Christian workers? How about Jewish employees? Buddhists maybe?

On Monday, hundreds of Muslim employees were the first to walk off the job, saying they weren’t being allowed to take a break to pray during the holy month of Ramadan. Break times were then altered on the second shift so the Muslim employees, mostly Somali, could make their fourth of five daily prayers at sunset.

Well, then, wouldn’t that open up 300 new jobs for NON Muslims?

Then hundreds of non-Muslim workers walked off the job in counterprotests Wednesday and Thursday morning. Later Thursday, plant managers did an about-face, saying the new break times weren’t working. Company officials have not returned repeated calls from The Associated Press, including a message seeking comment left Thursday.

Every single NON Muslim should have walked out. Not just a few hundred…..EVERY SINGLE ONE! At every single Swift plant in the country!

About 2,500 people work at Swift’s Grand Island plant, not counting managers. That includes about 500 Muslims who mostly work the second shift, employees said.

Infante wasn’t sympathetic to the Muslim employees, saying her husband, who works the second shift, has had to pick up the slack for co-workers who leave the line for prayer.

Does her husband get paid extra for taking up the slack? I seriously doubt it.

Jama Abbi watched through the chain-link fence that ran the length of the plant. He’d walked off the job Monday in solidarity with his fellow Muslim workers, but unlike most of them, Abbi couldn’t bring himself to return.

“This job is already hard as it is,” he said. “It doesn’t need people to make it harder.”

But it’s ok for Abbi to make the job more difficult for those who aren’t asking for special priviledges, right?

Jacinto Guerrero kept in his pocket a list of needs, a scrap of paper containing words scribbled in Spanish. Breaks at normal times, no religious discrimination, same benefits and privileges, it read. Guerrero said he comes to work to do his job and so should everyone else. “You and your religion – it’s between you and God,” he said. “You don’t need to show it to everybody.”

One cave in leads to another, then another, then another. Here something that will let Swift know where the country stands…..their wallet!

From SFGate:

In Elko, Obama tried to anticipate his critics and called on the crowd of about 1,500 to sharpen their elbows, too.

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

“And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns.’ I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’ If they tell you, ‘Well, he’s going to raise your taxes,’ you say, ‘No, he’s not, he’s going lower them.’ You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case.”

Dos Palos students protest after school forces sophomore to remove American flag shirt

Students at Dos Palos High School protested Thursday — by wearing patriotic regalia to school — after a sophomore student was forced to remove a T-shirt depicting the American flag.

Officials at the Merced County school confirmed Thursday that Jake Shelly was forced to take off a red, white and blue tie-dyed American flag T-shirt on Tuesday. The shirt said nothing offensive, just: “United States of America, Washington, D.C.”

Yeah. That ol’ American Flag sure is offensive…….to Commies!

The school’s assistant principal issued Shelly a bright yellow T-shirt that read “DCV: Dress Code Violator” to wear for the rest of the day. He was given his shirt back after classes ended.

“It was really embarrassing and humiliating to have to wear that all day — and just for supporting your country,” his sister Kaycee Shelly said.

I guess that ASS. principal has a serious problem with the country that provides her with a job. Perhaps a change in careers is in order?

Kaycee Shelly told members of the media at lunchtime that her brother was overwhelmed and did not want to do any more interviews.

Earlier in the day, he was speaking with a local news station when an unidentified teacher walked up to him, ripped off the microphone clipped to his shirt and told him he was not allowed to talk to the media.

Evidently, the 1st Amendment is a foreign concept to the school too.

District officials said they apologized to the student, his family and the local American Legion on Wednesday — Constitution Day.

I’m thinking that maybe every teacher and administrator in that school district needs to take a course on the U.S. Constitution.

The assistant principal initially thought Shelly’s T-shirt violated a clause of the school dress code that does not allow “shirts/blouses that promote specific races, cultures, or ethnicities.”

What planet is that ASS. principal from anyway? What RACE does the American represent? Which ethnicity? Any particular culture? What a putz! Again, a new career should be looked into, because education is evidently not her strong suit.

Students on campus started a campaign to wear as much red, white or blue clothing and carry as many flags as possible Thursday in protest of Tuesday’s decision, despite the apology. Jake Shelly wore the same shirt he wore Tuesday and was not disciplined.

“I am glad so many people are supporting this and wearing red, white and blue,” his sister said. She believes the swift change in rules was because of the overwhelming student action.

A.J. Galindo is one student who wore a patriotic shirt to school.

Galindo’s shirt honored Marine Cpl. Joshua Pickard, a family member who died in Iraq in 2006. Pickard’s two brothers remain active in the Marines.

“I think it is horrible that you can’t wear an American flag to school without something like this happening,” he said, referring to the flurry of activities during the school’s lunch hour. “We have people fighting for our country and dying every day, but we can’t wear an American flag at a public school?”

Public means taxpayer. And taxpayers happen to like their country AND their flag!

MPS to explore dissolving district

While it is extremely far from this step to MPS going out of business — and the action might turn out to be largely a symbolic protest of the MPS financial situation — it was by far the board’s most dramatic reaction to the pressures it is under. Those pressures include wide demands for better student achievement, a tightening money vise and the strong prospect of a double-digit increase in the property tax levy to be imposed this fall.

“We have ample evidence the current model is going to move us to ruination sooner or later,” Goldberg said.

Hold on to your wallets folks! I see them raising your taxes in a bid to pour more money into the “black hole” of Milwaukee’s education system.

Treasury to Temporarily Guarantee Money Market Funds

The U.S. Treasury this morning offered temporary insurance for money market funds, attempting to restore confidence in one of the economy’s important safe-haven investments, while the Securities and Exchange Commission slapped a two-week ban on short-selling the stocks of 799 financial companies as federal officials continued ramping up efforts to stabilize the global financial system.

Screw the “global financial system”. Worry about the US system, and how far those weasels are going to go to insure that we are no longer a sovereign nation!

Blackburn, other House conservatives want ban on bailouts

Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Brentwood and fellow conservative Republicans on Thursday criticized the GOP administration for using taxpayer dollars to rescue failing financial institutions and called for a ban on further bailouts.

The House members offered some of the harshest criticism by Republicans of recent actions by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson Jr. and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, which included an $85 billion loan to insurance giant American International Group.

“These massive federal bailouts have exposed taxpayers to literally tens of billions of dollars of new risk,” the members of the Republican Study Committee wrote to Paulson and Bernanke.

Do you remember anyone asking if it was ok for them to use YOUR money to prop up badly managed companies? I sure don’t! If Joe Blow has a C-store, and doesn’t know how to keep his head above water, are the Feds going to come along and say, “That’s ok, we’ll just use your neighbors money to keep you in business. Go ahead, screw up! No biggie!”? Oh hell no they aren’t. Stand or fail, it’s not the taxpayers job to prop up private businesses.

Palin Dropped from Rally Following Threats from Democrats

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the Vice Presidential candidate on Senator John McCain’s Republican ticket, has been dropped from the list of dignitaries that are to speak at a key rally in New York on Monday. Bowing to threats from Jewish Democratic groups, the organizers decided to withdraw her invitation days after Senator Hillary Clinton cancelled her own participation in the rally.
Rabbi Zev Friedman, the head of the Machon HaTorah yeshiva in New York State, said he was “shocked” by the decidely un-’democratic’ decision of the organizers to withdraw the invitation Gov. Palin’s invitation.

Honestly, I’m not shocked at all. Palin, a supporter of Israel, slammed by Dhimmis? Pfft! Not surprising at all! I guess it’s true, US Jews are a WHOLE lot different from Israeli Jews. *shakes head*

Tennessee State honors Freedom Riders, civil rights heroes

Forty-seven years ago, 14 black students from Tennessee State University were beaten and arrested during the “Freedom Rides” that helped integrate the South.

For their courage, they were expelled from school, and informed of that decision by letter while still incarcerated in Mississippi.

On Thursday, the historically black university made amends by presenting the former students with honorary degrees, three of them posthumously.

I would like to know why a “historically black university” would expel them to begin with? And why it took it so long to honor them? I must be missing something here.

Venezuela expels rights activists

Venezuela has expelled two key Human Rights Watch activists for a report that criticised the country’s rights record under President Hugo Chavez.

The foreign ministry said Jose Miguel Vivanco, HRW’s Americas director, and his deputy Daniel Wilkinson had committed “serious violations”.

Serious violations? Yeah, they had the audacity to criticize a civil rights violator! Gracious sakes! (/sarcasm)

ICE arrests 21 in raid of Hercules home

Federal agents have taken 21 undocumented workers into custody after a raid of house in Hercules.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman says the raid of the five-bedroom home Wednesday came as part of an investigation into a chain of Chinese restaurants in San Pablo, Vallejo and Vacaville.

ICE says since 2007 it has been investigating the family that owned the home and a chain of restaurants, including King’s Buffet in Vacaville, Empire Buffet in Vallejo and the same-named restaurant in San Pablo.

Pakistan: Deadly bomb rips through religious school in southwest

Police were reported to be investigating who may have planted the bomb.

Quetta is the capital of Baluchistan province province where etnic Baluchis have been fighting for more autonomy. It is also believed to be used as a base by Taliban militants fighting in neighbouring Afghanistan.

So, was it the Talibn that bombed the school? Or was it someone who was trying to get rid of them? Either way, Pakistan is a powder keg.

Poll: Obama tops McCain as football-watching buddy

Obama was the pick over McCain by a narrow 50 percent to 47 percent, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo! News poll released Friday that generally mirrored each presidential candidate’s strengths and weaknesses with voters. Women, minorities, younger and unmarried people were likelier to prefer catching a game with Obama while men, whites, older and married people would rather watch with McCain.

Big freakin’ deal! Honestly, I don’t want to watch football with either one of ‘em. I want the POTUS to do his job, not sit around chatting about football.  We need a LEADER, not a buddy!

Texas may seize homes on beaches

The reason: A 1959 law known as the Texas Open Beaches Act. Under the law, the strip of beach between the average high-tide line and the average low-tide line is considered public property, and it is illegal to build anything there.

Over the years, the state has repeatedly invoked the law to seize houses in cases where a storm eroded a beach so badly that a home was suddenly sitting on public property. The aftermath of Ike could see the biggest such use of the law in Texas history.

I’m of two minds on this one. First: Don’t build a freakin’ house on the sand! Common sense would prevent a person from doing this, but evidently, common sense is in short supply. You get sand erosion even without a huge storm. Second: The state just taking these people’s property, without any compensation is just wrong!

NKorea preparing to restore nuclear reactor

North Korea said Friday it is making “thorough preparations” to restart its nuclear reactor, accusing the United States of failing to fulfill its obligations under an international disarmament-for-aid agreement.

It was the first time the communist nation has confirmed a reversal of steps taken since last year to disable its nuclear program because of Washington’s refusal to quickly remove it from a U.S. terrorism blacklist.

If the Chia DICtator is out of commission, who is running this show? Are the Russians in on this deal? Why is no one saying much about the NK ‘powering up’?

City Hall begins changing of the guard

Just hours after Ken Cockrel Jr. replaced the resigned Kwame Kilpatrick as Detroit mayor, the symbolic changing of the guard has begun.

At 6:59 a.m. this morning, a City Hall worker climbed a stepladder in the first-floor lobby of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center and took down Kilpatrick’s photo from its perch above the photos of Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett, Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey, Cockrel and the eight remaining members of the City Council.

It’s about time. I wonder if Dave Bing could bring some sanity to that city?

Russia: Nato Provoked Georgia War

“We will continuously strengthen our national security, modernise the military and increase our defense capability to a sufficient level.”

His remarks followed on from those of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who attacked what he described as other countries’ “attempts to drag us back into the Cold War”.

Excuse me, but who is dragging whom? Somehow, I get the feeling, unless there are some changes in Russia’s plans, it won’t stay “cold” for long.

Proverbs 30:5-6

5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
