A Few Observations

Ok, I watched the debate.  Starting out, I was not impressed with McCain’s performance.  Luckily, he did get into the swing of things as it moved along.

One major thing:  Barack Hussein showed NO respect, calling McCain John (McCain called him Senator, or Senator Obama).  He constantly interrupted, showing his lack of courtesy and manners.  I guess his grandmother didn’t instill something as important as respect and manners.

McCain seemed to actually answer questions.  Obama talked in circles.  Both the Mr and I kept saying….HUH?  It’s even more obvious how little Obama knows about how the economy works.  You do not build the economy “from the bottom up”.  Corporations create jobs, so it’s a good idea not to tax them into the poor house.  Jobs would be lost.  However, BO wants job creation….by the gubmint.  Who pays the government?  Well, taxpayers, and who are the biggest taxpayers?  Big companies (and yes, that includes BIG OIL) pay a large chunk in taxes.

I also noticed that Obama tried to do some back tracking (nothing new).  Yes, he did say he would talk to Iran with no preconditions, but now is saying he didn’t.  I think he was just as confused as I was.

Honestly, I don’t think this debate changed anyone’s mind.  Was there a clear cut ‘winner’?  I think McCain came out ahead, but not by a lot.  So, no, no clearcut winner.

I’m looking forward to the VP debate.

Media covering for Obama
by Tony Blankley

The mainstream media have gone over the line and are now straight out propagandists for the Obama campaign. While they have been liberal and blinkered in their worldview for decades, in 2007-08 for the first time, the major media are consciously covering for one candidate for president and consciously knifing the other. This is no longer journalism — it is simply propaganda. (The American left-wing version of the Volkischer Beobachter cannot be far behind.) And as a result, we are less than seven weeks away from possibly electing a president who has not been thoroughly and even half way honestly presented to the country by our watchdogs — the press.

The image of Barack Obama that the press has presented is not a fair approximation of the real man. They have consciously ignored whole years in his life, and showed a lack of curiosity about such gaps that bespeaks a lack of journalistic instinct. Thus, the public image of Mr. Obama is of a “Man who never was.” I take that phrase from a 1956 movie about a real life WWII British intelligence operation to trick the Germans into thinking the Allies were going to invade Greece, rather than Italy, in 1943. Operation “Mincemeat” involved the acquisition of a human corpse dressed as a Maj. William Martin, R.M. and put into the sea near Spain. Attached to the corpse was a brief-case containing fake letters suggesting that the Allied attack would be against Sardinia and Greece.

……on the “good guys”. Couric evidently didn’t know. Sad. I thought she was an American journalist? Questionable!

Palin: Israel is the Good Guy

“We shouldn’t second guess Israel’s security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust,” Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin said in a television interview for CBS.

“Israel has got to have the opportunity and the ability to protect itself. They are our closest ally in the Mideast. We need them. They need us. And we shouldn’t second guess their efforts,” the Alaska governor added.

“It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are. The bad guys are the ones who say Israel is a stinking corpse and should be wiped off the face of the earth,” Palin explained.

“That’s not a good guy who is saying that. Now, one who would seek to protect the good guys in this, the leaders of Israel and her friends, her allies, including the United States, in my world, those are the good guys,” she said.

Bush confident Congress will pass bill

President Bush on Friday morning said that Democrats and Republicans will “rise to the occasion” to pass an economic rescue plan, as the White House appeared resigned to working through the weekend with Congress to aim for a deal by Sunday.

Congress doesn’t ‘rise to the occasion’. They stoop to new lows.

Fort Worth police re-examine baby’s death after mom accused in Missouri case

A detective has flown to Missouri to interview Sweet Cherry Ann Halliburton, 29, in the September 2007 death of her son. Ms. Halliburton was taken into custody by Missouri authorities this week after she confessed to killing her 6-week-old daughter.

Ms. Halliburton may have also been investigated by authorities in South Dakota for the death of another child and there may be more cases, Fort Worth police said.

“These are all her natural, biological children,” Fort Worth police Lt. Paul Henderson told WFAA-TV. “And there are even reports she had six or seven kids, so we could be looking at a very horrible situation, a very horrific situation depending on what they find out in Missouri.”

If this bitch doesn’t get the death penalty, then I’m all for making sure she never has another child….EVER!

McCain To Hold Out for Bailout

With the campaign’s first debate in doubt, the arrival here of both presidential contenders brought chaos and confusion to the capital as a $700 billion bailout deal that appeared at hand broke down amid a flurry of bitter recriminations.

Well, according to the “news alert”, McCain will go to the debate, which he should.  At least HE knew he had a job to do, unlike BHO.  Well, since B. Hussein has been running for POTUS from the first day he stepped into the Senate, I guess he wasn’t aware he was hired to do a job.  The kid has NO leadership qualities, and mark my word….he would be a miserable failure in such a high office. Shoot, he’s been a failure in EVERY office.

Pak troops fire on US choppers

In a conflicting version of the incident, the US military denied the aircraft had flown into Pakistani territory. There were no casualties nor were the helicopters damaged, NATO said.

The shooting took place amid rising tension between Pakistan and the United States after US troops launched missile attacks and a helicopter-borne ground assault into Pakistan this month.

“Allies in the war on terror”? Pfft! Seems to me they are a big part of the problem!

U.S. ‘will lose financial superpower status’

The US is poised to lose its role as a global financial “superpower” in the wake of the financial crisis, Peer Steinbrück, German finance minister, said on Thursday as he called for a regulatory crackdown on financial markets.

“The US will lose its status as the superpower of the world financial system. This world will become multipolar” with the emergence of stronger, better capitalised centres in Asia and Europe, Mr Steinbrück told the German parliament.

“The world will never be the same again.”

Way to go D.C.! Screwing us big time…..again!  Personally, I don’t give a flying flip what the rest of the world thinks.  What I do care about is how long will “We, the People” keep putting up with the BS that flies out of the swamp?

Iran: ‘Jerusalem Day’ commemorated in Tehran

The protests are held every year on the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramadan to oppose Israel’s control over Jerusalem and to support the Palestinian cause.

The celebrations “…..were initiated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini to voice support for the oppressed Palestinian nation and protest of the Islamic Ummah against Zionist usurpers,” according to the official Iranian news agency Irna.

Protesters chanted slogans such as “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” during the demonstration, reported Irna.

I continuously find it really odd that Muslims are so attached to Jerusalem, since Mohamed had never…EVER….been there.

Parents of slain Memphis football player sue

Bradford, a Tiger football player, was in his car when he was shot and managed to drive away from his attackers. He was found mortally wounded a few blocks away.

The suit filed on Thursday, which asks for $4 million in damages, alleges the university was negligent in its control of the campus by not having more security officers and surveillance cameras.

As horrible as this tragedy was, as much pain and anger as these parents are going through, I do not understand why the school would be responsible. No matter how much security a school puts in place, evil will find a way. The murderers are responsible for their actions.

Terror hits Pakistan again, train blast kills 6

Two bogies of the train derailed following the blast which took place near Bahawalpur in Punjab province, local Geo TV reported.

It said six people were killed and several injured in the blast. The dead included a woman and three children. The injured, said to be in critical condition, were rushed to Victoris Hospital in Bahawalpur while rescue teams have also been sent to the accident site, the report said.

At the rate they’re going, one can only hope that the Pakistanis are going to murder enough of their own people, they won’t be a threat in the future.

Calif. bond would launch bullet train project

A century and a half after California built its first railroad, the Golden State may be about to launch the most ambitious rail project undertaken by any state—a nearly 800-mile system of bullet trains that can top 200 mph.

On Nov. 4, California voters will decide whether to authorize the sale of $9.9 billion in state bonds to help pay for a 465-mile high-speed rail line linking Anaheim, Los Angeles, Fresno and San Francisco. Planners say it would be the first leg of a system that would complement air travel and eventually include stations in Sacramento, San Diego and Oakland.

Considering recent events involving trains in California, is this really such a good idea? :?

Germans raid plane, arrest 2 terror suspects

German police raided a plane in Cologne just before it was taking off Friday and arrested two ethnic Somalis, saying they found a suicide note that claimed the men wanted to fight a holy war and die in a terror attack.

A 23-year-old Somali man and a 24-year-old German man born in Somalia were removed from the plane without incident after the surprise raid at Cologne-Bonn Airport, a spokeswoman for North Rhine-Westphalia state police told The Associated Press.

Somalis sure are starting to make the news a lot lately. I wonder…..

Middle East: Amnesty granted to Fatah militants

Israel has granted amnesty to 10 members of Fatah’s military wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, according to a prominent Israeli daily.

According to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth, the 10 will be pardoned as part of an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority to mark the Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that ends Ramadan, the holy Muslim fasting month.

The pardon follows reports that Israel handed over a list of 49 wanted men to be granted amnesty after a three-month probationary period.

Why would anyone grant terrorists amnesty?????  They can call themselves anything they want, but terrorists are still terrorists!

What the hell is wrong with that man!  Listening to him talk, if you were stupid enough to believe anything that comes out of his mouth, you’d think this whole mess started with anyone that had an “R” behind their name.  I’m not prone to violence, but the temptation to smack the crap out of him gets stronger every time he opens his mouth.  He should know no one speak comprehensively when your head is shove so far up your ass!

Verse of the Day

1 John 3:13-17

13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

17But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
