EXCLUSIVE: Transcript From Thursday’s VP Debate!

The Edwards Report has obtained an exclusive copy of a transcript from CNN for Thursday night’s vice presidential debate. The transcript was hard to obtain, as the debate has yet to happen. In following the very highest in journalistic standards, we now present the transcript to you, the reader:

Sen. Biden: . . . as Lincoln said on the radio after the outbreak of the Revolutionary War, ‘The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.’

Gov. Palin: Well, it would be the position of a McCain administration that Russia represents a threat to democracy throughout the world, and we must address this issue seriously but without igniting another Cold War.

Sen. Biden: I’d like to respond to that. I would, I mean Sen. Obama would, respond like Gen. Sherman who called in air strikes and, in fact, personally drove the tank that led the charge to sack Constantinople.

Gov. Palin: Um . . . well, Sen. McCain and I believe that we should continue the path to victory in Iraq that was put forth by Gen. Petraeus, and . . .

Sen. Biden: Well, I went to law school, so I know full well that a Biden administration, I mean an Obama/Biden administration, would respond to any terrorist attack like Genghis Khan who flew his magic carpet as he went on to conquer the Aztecs.

Gwen Ifill: Thank you both for joining us. Goodnight.

Campbell Brown: There you have the first and only vice presidential debate, and you have to wonder if the McCain camp purposely set it up for only one debate.

Anderson Cooper: Absolutely. Sen. Biden came into this as an underdog, but came away the clear winner. Throughout the debate he was able to demonstrate his vast foreign policy experience. For some commentary, let’s go to James Carville. James?

James Carville: Thanks, Anderson. Clearly little Sarah is in over her head. She made so many gaffes tonight I couldn’t add them up.

Brown: We just heard James Carville’s view, now for the other side, let’s go to Paul Begala. Paul?

Paul Begala: Thanks, Campbell. Clearly little Sarah is in over her head. She made so many gaffes tonight I couldn’t add them up.

Brown: After tonight’s performance, you have to wonder how long Gov. Palin stays on the McCain ticket. Keep it here on CNN, always no bias, no bull.

BREAKING: House Rejects

29 September 2008, 1:15 pm. 4 Comments. Filed under Congress.

Breaking: House rejects Trillion-Dollar-Plus Crap Sandwich on first vote; arm-twisting underway

The votes have been tallied.

228 NAY.

205 YEA.

The Crap Sandwich goes down in flames.

Still no official announcement on the House floor. Lots of yelling for “order.”

Someone has changed his/her vote.

It’s now 227 NAY, 206 YEA, 1 Not Voting.

1:59pm Eastern. The allotted 15 minutes for voting is over, but there is still no official announcement. Arm-twisting is underway, but only one changed vote so far.

Such a colorful way of putting it…..’crap sandwich’.  Fits perfectly, IMHO.

Final tally is actually 228 NAY, 205 YEAH, 1 Not Voting.

Just a caller on C-Span whining and crying it’s all the “stupid Republicans fault”!  Another is saying it’s “Bush’s fault for going into Iraq”.

Just A Really Big Number Will Do!

Why not $900,000,000,000, or $3,000,000,000,000,000?

You know where that very important $700-billion figure came from?

Here’s a quote from that Forbes story:

“It’s not based on any particular data point,” a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com Tuesday. “We just wanted to choose a really large number.”

They made it up to be sufficiently ginormous to frighten everyone into rapid action.

And it worked.

Perhaps they are so overloaded with angry constituents…….  Hmmm….

Now, my question is….HUH? This bill sure does give a lot of power to one person, who is NOT an elected official. I do NOT like that one little bit.  As a matter of fact, I don’t much care for the ever increasing power of D.C., PERIOD!

Bush Failed Us!

Ted Nugent: Tranquilizer dart needed for Fedzilla

President Bush let Americans down when he addressed the nation regarding our embarrassing financial mess. When he had the opportunity to name the Fedzillacrats of both political parties responsible for the financial meltdown, he didn’t do it.

The man has no spine.

Americans deserve to know by name the political scoundrels responsible for this financial quagmire, especially if President Bush wants us to embrace a near trillion-dollar bailout.

We deserve to know exactly how this happened and have a right to know by name anyone who should be held accountable. President Bush didn’t tell us that he supported any investigations to determine which Fedzillacrat is responsible for this mess and how it occurred.

His speech was classic political hot air. I am truly let down by the depth of abject soullessness in our disconnected government.

This Kind of Crap…..

……SERIOUSLY PISSES ME OFF!

Christian heritage a no-show in new $600M visitors center

The project, run by the office of the architect of the Capitol, has been delayed from its original opening date set several years ago and has cost hundreds of millions of dollars more than estimated, officials have confirmed.

But the finished product still, according to members of Congress, is seriously lacking. Rep. J. Randy Forbes, R-Va., said 108 members of Congress have signed a letter to the architect’s office expressing their concerns that the historical content simply is inaccurate.

Among the references to God or American’s religious history that are omitted is the nation’s motto, “In God We Trust,” the letter said.

“Our concern is not just with the Capitol Visitor Center, but with [an] increasing pattern of attempts to remove references to our religious heritage from our nation’s capital,” said Forbes. “The Capitol Visitor Center is just one example of efforts to censor God, faith, and religion from our historical buildings, documents, and ceremonies.”

The revisionism that attempts to remove God and Christianity from America’s history has been documented by WND’s coverage of the work of Todd DuBord, the former pastor at Lake Almanor Community Church in California. He now serves as a special chaplain for Chuck Norris’ organizations.

Dubord was leading trips of tourists to Washington and nearby areas to review the nation’s Christian heritage when he started noticing what appeared to be a deliberate campaign to remove references to the Bible and Christianity.

They don’t teach accurate history in schools anymore, or actually change it to suit an agenda.  Now, they are removing our Judeo-Christian heritage from buildings WE PAY FOR?  Who told them they could do this?  I don’t remember anyone asking me if it was ok not to include “In God We Trust” on any public building.  Who is this architect?  Who is over seeing this project?

“In addition, the Capitol Visitor Center includes photos from Earth Day, an AIDS rally, various casino grounds, and factories, but it does not include photos from monumental religious events such as the National Day of Prayer or the March for Life event, attended by thousands annually, among other things,” the letter said.

Earth Day? One of the biggest jokes ever perpetrated? An AIDS rally? Condoning bad behavior is ok, but prayer for salvation of our nation isn’t? Excuse me?

A letter responding to members of Congress from Stephen T. Ayers, acting architect of the Capitol, didn’t directly address the questions raised .

“The Capitol Preservation Commission, a bicameral, bipartisan committee, was selected by the U.S. Congress to oversee the construction of the Capitol Visitor Center, including determining the content of the exhibitry,” he wrote. “Comprised of representatives elected by the people of the United States, the CPC worked to ensure that the Capitol Visitor Center is of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

I call BULLSH*T! If 85% of the population claims a belief in God, who are these asshats to remove Him from OUR heritage?  I want my money back!

Kidnapped Egypt tourists are released

The group, which includes five Germans, five Italians and one Romanian, disappeared on 19 September while on a desert safari trip in a remote corner of south-western Egypt.

Their abductors took them to Sudan, then to Libya, but their final whereabouts were unclear.

Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said the 11 tourists and eight guides have been freed, were in the hands of Egyptian authorities and their condition was being checked.

Since most of the bad guys ended up dead, I’d say this was a success. Shame a couple of them lived though. The more bad guys taken out, the better.

Random House Banned Book because of Fear of Muslim Ire

London anti-terrorist police officers have arrested three people suspected of trying to torch the home of a London publisher who is printing a novel that was rejected by the large Random House firm because of fears it would upset Muslims.

One way to not have this problem….send the Muslims home. They obviously don’t like freedom of speech, or religion, or any other freedom that Western countries enjoy, so why should they get to come in, try to take over that country, and turn it into the cesspool they left behind? And why the hell is a country like Britain bowing to their ignorance?  I don’t give a flying flip if the Muslims get upset.  They have no problem upsetting me, but I don’t go burning their houses.  No, most civilized people do not behave in such a manner.

Never Mind the Financial Crisis: Washington’s Redskins Beat the Cowboys

New Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn was looking for something to help him build up a healthy dose of hate for the Dallas Cowboys. Turns out, he kinds of likes playing his team’s archrival.

Jason Campbell threw two touchdown passes and Clinton Portis ran for 121 yards, leading the Redskins to a 26-24 victory Sunday that knocked the Cowboys from the ranks of the unbeaten.

“It’s a brawl,” Zorn said. “Our guys laid it on the line.”

Ok, I couldn’t watch the massacre. I admit it. I’m a coward. sigh….  I, so seriously, do not like the Redskins!

Grisly details of A&M student’s death will emerge at trial

Shepherd could face life in prison if convicted of killing his former girlfriend, Tynesha Stewart. Investigators believe Shepherd choked the Texas A&M engineering major to death, dismembered her body and burned her remains on two barbecue pits on the patio of his apartment over the course of two days.

Chip Lewis, Shepherd’s defense attorney, said he wanted to get jurors who could “compartmentalize” or separate the allegations of Stewart’s slaying from the grim aspects of what happened to her body after her death.

“The details are the details, we can’t change them, but the details are irrelevant as to whether Tim Shepherd is guilty of murder,” Lewis said. “Nothing that happened after Ms. Stewart’s death changed the facts about how she died.”

I’d say that anyone who grills the body, more than like had something to do with how the body got dead. I want to know why no one noticed the smell. Two days? Roasting people doesn’t exactly have the same aroma that a steak does, y’know.  Why just ‘life’?  Why not the death penalty?

Bush confident bailout bill will stabilize economy

“Every member of Congress and every American should keep in mind that a vote for this bill is a vote to prevent economic damage to you and your community,” said Bush, fully aware that congressional passage of the $700 billion compromise legislation is far from assured.

“With this strong and decisive legislation,” he said, “we will help restart the flow of credit so American families can meet their daily needs and American businesses can make purchases, ship goods and meet their payrolls.”

Well he may be confident, but I’m sure not! Every time the gubmint sticks its fingers in the pie, they make a bigger mess than if they’d just left it alone.

Cadbury: Tests find chemical; it recalls Chinese-made chocolate

Cadbury said it has recalled 11 chocolate products made at its factory in the Chinese capital Beijing, which are distributed in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia.

Tests “cast doubt on the integrity of a range of our products manufactured in China,” Cadbury said in the statement issued from its office in Singapore.

The company said all of its dairy suppliers have been cleared by government milk testing.

China’s recent food safety scandal started with the discovery of melamine in baby milk powder.

I guess after the lead incident, no one learned a thing. All those companies that sent their manufacturing plants to China should have brought them home (where ever ‘home’ may be).  ChiComs are getting rich, and babies are getting sick.  What is wrong with this picture?!

Comply fully with UN resolutions, Iran told

The UN Security Council on Saturday unanimously approved a new resolution reaffirming previous sanctions on Iran for refusing to halt its uranium enrichment program and offering Tehran incentives to do so.

The Security Council called on Iran to “comply fully without delay to obligations” set out by the previous resolutions, while asking Iran to meet the requirements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding it’s nuclear activities.

The speedy vote on Saturday followed a compromise between the US and Russia to lead a new council effort to condemn Iran’s nuclear program, without introducing any new sanctions.

No, No! Bad dog! Pfft! Like Iran gives a flip what the Useless Numnuts say, anymore than anyone else does?  They can impose all the ‘sanctions’ they want, without action, they mean NOTHING!

World markets fall as bailout percolates

Analysts said the flurry of developments around the world is confirming fears that the global financial contagion is likely to spread further before any recovery.

“There’s an increasing realization that the cleanup and the mending of all that’s gone wrong is going to take an extended period to work through, and we’re going to see an extended recovery period,” said Jamie Spiteri, senior dealer at Shaw Stockbroking in Sydney.

I’m thinking all the world’s finances shouldn’t be so intertwined.

‘Doomsday Machine’ Lawsuit Tossed Out by Judge

A federal judge in Hawaii has dismissed a lawsuit trying to stop the world’s largest atom smasher.

U.S. District Court Judge Helen Gilmor ruled Friday that federal courts don’t have jurisdiction over the Large Hadron Collider in Europe, near Geneva.

Two Hawaii residents sued because they feared that the machine could create small black holes or other phenomena that could destroy the planet.

“The sky is falling! The sky is falling!” Umm….yeah….ok.

Bin Laden’s Son Makes Return to Pakistan

Al Qaeda is consolidating its leadership in the territory under its control in Pakistan.

Osama bin Laden’s son and heir apparent, Sa’ad bin Laden, has returned to Pakistan from his safe haven in Iran, according to messages posted on a Qaeda jihad Web forum known as al-Hesbah.

An organization that tracks and translates discussions on such forums, the SITE Institute, provided its subscribers with a summary of messages describing what it said was an escape by Sa’ad bin Laden from an Iranian prison. American counterterrorism officials, however, have considered him to be under a permissive version of house arrest since the American invasion of Afghanistan, in 2001.

Escape?  Pfft!  No doubt said escape was aided by the Iranian ‘prison guards’.  These cave dwellers may go under a lot of different names, but they all have the same goal.  World domination through Islam.  And they are everywhere!

Verse of the Day

Romans 8:35-39

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Pence Opposing The Bailout

From Congressman Pence’s Office

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Mike Pence sent the following letter to his colleagues today in opposition to the deal struck last night on the bailout of the financial services sector:

Dear Colleagues:

Our nation has been confronted by a serious crisis in our financial markets. The President and this Congress were right to act with all deliberate speed in addressing this crisis.

We now have a deal that promises to bring near-term stability to our financial turmoil, but at what price?

Economic freedom means the freedom to succeed and the freedom to fail.

The decision to give the federal government the ability to nationalize almost every bad mortgage in America interrupts this basic truth of our free market economy.

Republicans improved this bill but it remains the largest corporate bailout in American history, forever changes the relationship between government and the financial sector, and passes the cost along to the American people. I cannot support it.

Before you vote, ask yourself why you came here and vote with courage and integrity to those principals.

If you came here because you believe in limited government and the freedom of the American marketplace, vote in accordance with those convictions.

Duty is ours, outcomes belong to God.

We have fought the good fight. Now we need to finish the race and make sure that posterity and the American people know there were conservatives who opposed the leviathan state in this dark hour.

And if you do this I promise you, I will stand with you and, I believe with all my heart, the American people will stand with you as well.

MIKE PENCE
