From Jay at Stop the ACLU:

Kender Needs Help

Long story short.  My longtime friend and co-blogger is having a hard time.  He has always suffered from kidney problems, and a few years ago had to go on disability.  He requires dialysis to live.  His last kidney transplant failed. He has so far had two of them, as far as I know.
He fell in love a few years ago and she was his dialysis tech.  He relied on her, and let her take care of him.  To keep his disability he couldn’t do very much work.  She spent all kinds of money behind his back and broke them, then blamed it on him.  I don’t know all those details, but they broke up and he has no home now.  He has a nine year old boy to take care of and needs dialysis.  He has no vehicle, and no home.  He isn’t the begging type…a very independent type person…however he had a dark moment recently and had thoughts of ending it by not having his treatments. We got him out of that muck, but we need to help him get on his own two feet.  He needs a vehicle to get a job to get a home, etc.  He needs a little help.

We have someone that volunteered to give their motor home to Kender.  However, we need to get it from Florida to California.  We are hoping for an old fashioned daisy chain effort and looking for anyone that can help.

We have an offer to help out from Alabama, and another from Dallas, Texas, and Kender’s dad is in Arkansas – and he’s willing to pitch in. The motor home will take about a quart of oil a day traveling that far, and I’m not sure about gas mileage, but these are all things that will cost – but it’s the cheapest route to get it to where it needs to go.  Perhaps we could find some volunteers in your readers?

We also put his donation button on this post.  If a few people were able to pitch in 5 bucks we could scrap together enough to get him back on his own two feet.  Please consider sharing with your readers for whatever help they might be willing to offer.  Thanks, Jay

Senate Passes Revised $700B Financial Bailout Legislation

After one spectacular failure, the $700 billion financial industry bailout found a second life Wednesday, winning lopsided passage in the Senate and gaining ground in the House, where Republicans opposition softened.

Senators loaded the economic rescue bill with tax breaks and other sweeteners before passing it by a wide margin, 74-25, a month before the presidential and congressional elections.

How Many Millions Are Illegal?

Secret, Foreign Money Floods Into Obama Campaign

In a letter dated June 25, 2008, the FEC asked the Obama campaign to verify a series of $25 donations from a contributor identified as Will, Good from Austin, Texas.

Mr. Good Will listed his employer as Loving and his profession as You.

A Newsmax analysis of the 1.4 million individual contributions in the latest master file for the Obama campaign discovered 1,000 separate entries for Mr. Good Will, most of them for $25.

In total, Mr. Good Will gave $17,375.

Following this and subsequent FEC requests, campaign records show that 330 contributions from Mr. Good Will were credited back to a credit card. But the most recent report, filed on Sept. 20, showed a net cumulative balance of $8,950 still well over the $4,600 limit.

(…)

Similarly, a donor identified as Pro, Doodad, from Nando, NY, gave $19,500 in 786 separate donations, most of them for $25. For most of these donations, Mr. Doodad Pro listed his employer as Loving and his profession as You, just as Good Will had done.

But in some of them, he didn’t even go this far, apparently picking letters at random to fill in the blanks on the credit card donation form. In these cases, he said he was employed by VCX and that his profession was VCVC.

Following FEC requests, the Obama campaign began refunding money to Doodad Pro in February 2008. In all, about $8,425 was charged back to a credit card. But that still left a net total of $11,165 as of Sept. 20, way over the individual limit of $4,600.

(…)

The FEC has compiled a separate database of potentially questionable overseas donations that contains more than 11,500 contributions totaling $33.8 million. More than 520 listed their state as IR, often an abbreviation for Iran. Another 63 listed it as UK, the United Kingdom.

It’s my understanding that foreign people were not allowed to donate to our candidates.  I thought an individual could only donate a certain amount per cycle, $2300 during the primary, $2300 during the general.  So, could someone please explain to me how B. Hussein Obama is getting away with taking donations from foreigners, and amounts that are obviously WAY above the limit?  Please?  Why is this not headline news.

Cheating is an ugly characteristic.

Why? Because The Leftist Media Says So….THAT’S Why!

Economic turmoil propels Obama, Pa. poll finds

The sinking economy is buoying Barack Obama’s prospects over John McCain in Pennsylvania, a statewide poll of registered voters shows.

Obama maintains a 7-point lead, 45 percent to 38 percent — about the same advantage he held in August, according to a Franklin & Marshall Poll conducted between Sept. 23 and Sunday for the Tribune-Review, WTAE-TV and other news outlets.

“It’s not like there is a sea-change on the outside, but if you look inside the poll, the fundamentals are shifting in Obama’s favor,” said poll director G. Terry Madonna. “Obama’s support is a little better among women and independents, President Bush’s job performance is down, and the economy is worse. McCain needs some kind of breakout moment.”

What, exactly, would be McCain’s “breakout moment”? How about if the media did their freakin’ job, and report the TRUTH for a change? Wouldn’t THAT be a novel idea! The only reason B. HUSSEIN Obama is getting any traction on this issue is because people are not being told the truth! We are in this economic mess because of BHO, and his party!

What do we hear from the media? Queen Moonbat whining “it’s all Bush’s fault”! Not that it was the Dhimmicrats who blocked any steps to stem this downward spiral THEY started…for the last 15 years!

I’m sick of the half truths, and out right lies the public is being fed!  The main stream media is nothing more than the propaganda arm of the Dhimmicrat Party!  Heaing towards socialism?  Hell!  We’re already there!

Very Disturbing

Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 1

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys.

Now they’re training for the same mission — with a twist — at home.

Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

It is not the first time an active-duty unit has been tapped to help at home. In August 2005, for example, when Hurricane Katrina unleashed hell in Mississippi and Louisiana, several active-duty units were pulled from various posts and mobilized to those areas.

But this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.

Now, I don’t know about you, but this bothers me!  I was under the impression that unless there is a national security issue, or a natural disaster, our troops don’t patrol our streets.

I just got an email from Texas Fred linking to his post:

Now, in light of the threat of race riots, and now this, I wonder if there is a connection?

Copy and paste from silent E speaks:

Best online explanation I have seen explaining the current financial crisis…and its root cause.

Although I think it glosses over the rapid rise of the Federal Funds Rate which Greenspan raised 17 times in 2 years (June 2004 to June 2006), that means those who had Sub-Prime Mortgages, which were usually around 10-12% at the low end saw between a 4.25%-8.0% increase in interest rates. For those of you old enough to remember, this is not the first time the housing market has caused a crisis…. does anyone remember the Savings and Loan Crisis that started in the late 70s and collapsed in the 80s.

http://www.econlib.org/Library/Enc/SavingsandLoanCrisis.html

How Much Did the Savings and Loans Crisis Cost?: Between 1986-1995, over 1,000 banks with total assets of over $500 billion failed. By 1999, the Crisis cost $153 billion, with taxpayers footing the bill for $124 billion, and the S&L industry paying the rest. Nancy Pelosi can say that the Dems have no responsibility… but in fact they ruled congress for almost 40 years and during this entire time enacted the Community Reinvestment Act during the Carter Administration. Its’ purpose…

Watch TV and how many ads do you see that offer the easy way out of debt with Bankruptcy…purchase cars and house with No Money Down, Bad Credit…No Problem… this is systemic to the type of culture we are creating in the US consumer market place…and not the governments fault. Easy, fast and free….What ever happened to “Ask not what your country can do for you, Ask what can you do for your Country”.

There is a lot more to be said on this subject and as you can tell it is something I am passionate about. Bottom line it is time to stop finger pointing, we are all Americans and we need to get through this and we will….you just need to ask yourself…for all the Government programs created….like the Community Reinvestment Act… do they ever really work?

Best thing we can all do is keep the Government out of our pockets!! Ask yourself….does the government know how to spend your money better then you? How much of those tax dollars are going to come back to directly help you and your family?

House Speaker Pelosi Used Political Donations to Pay Husband’s Firm

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi paid her husband’s real estate and investment firm nearly $100,000 from her political action committee over the past decade, a practice that she voted to ban last year and that her party condemned as part of the “culture of corruption” when Republicans did it.

The Washington Times is reporting that the California Democrat’s husband, Paul F. Pelosi, owns Financial Leasing Services Inc., which has received $99,000 in rent, utilities and accounting fees from the speaker’s “PAC to the Future” over the PAC’s nine-year history.

“…the most ethical Congress ever….”?

More in Texas speaking Spanish at home, U.S. Census Bureau report says

“This growth is due to the amount of immigrants who have come to the country during the last 20 years,” said Mark López, assistant director of the Pew Hispanic Center. “We’re seeing many more Latinos in this country who speak Spanish.”

I don’t care what they speak at home. The problem is they aren’t learning to speak English out in the business world. And I wonder how many of those “immigrants” are actually LEGAL? Just curious.

Khamenei: Iran will stand by Hamas, ‘holy warrior’ Haniyeh

Khamenei said Israel “has weakened day by day … Today, officials of the Zionist regime acknowledge that they are moving towards weakness, destruction and defeat,” according to state television.

“Definitely, the world of Islam will see that day and hope the existing generation of the Palestinian people will watch the day Palestine is at the disposal of the Palestinian people, in the hands of the landlords,” he said at prayers marking the Islamic Eid al-Fitr holiday that ends the holy month of Ramadan.

When a head Muslim guy calls God a liar, you know there is a major problem with that “religion”.

Bloomberg Expected to Seek Third Term as Mayor

In an act that promises to upend New York City’s political world, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg plans to announce Thursday that he will seek a third term as mayor, according to four people who have been told of his intentions.

Mr. Bloomberg, whose second term ends in 2009, is barred by law from running for re-election. So he will propose revising the city’s 15-year-old term limits law, which restricts him and dozens of other elected leaders to two four-year terms, those people said.

He rides Rudy’s coattails in as a Republican, which is the only way he could be elected, decides he’s an “Independent” instead, acts like a Dhimmi, and wants to become “king” of New York. Oh yeah….he’s a Dhimm…through and through!

Stocks fall as bailout uncertainty remains

U.S. stocks fell Wednesday, the first session of the fourth quarter, with markets remaining on edge over uncertainty about whether the controversial $700 billion financial bailout package will make it through Congress.

In a sign of the market’s concerns over the credit crisis’ impact on the U.S. and global economy, energy, materials and industrial stocks fell the most in the broad market.

I’m more inclined they are falling today because the Senate announced it’s going to stick it’s fingers in the pie. You don’t let the people who caused the problem have a say in the problem.  You block them from screwing things up even worse!

House Conservatives Introduce ‘Free Market’ Substitute for Bailout

Instead of mandating that the U.S. Treasury purchase up to $700 billion in teetering mortgages and mortgage-backed securities, as the plan backed by the Bush administration and congressional leadership mandated, the RSC alternative would try to restore confidence in the mortgage market by insuring all such investments at 100 percent of their value.

Under the plan, mortgages that Treasury officials deemed to be risky would be insured at a higher premium than mortgages considered stable. The mortgages would be insured by the federal government, i.e., tax dollars. Thus, the plan is not pure free market but is more reasonable than an outright federal purchase of the mortgages with tax dollars, suggested Hensarling.

The only way any confidence is going to be restored is if D.C. would just get the hell out of the way! Have we become such a WEAK country that we can’t weather some tough times for a little while? Do we always need the gubmint to come swooping in? Pitiful! Truly pitiful!

Galatians 4:6-9

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
